Great place for resting and have some refreshment

Beautiful place. On the 1st of January the buffet was open, so it was possible to buy hot tea or soup. Behind the buffer (in the middle of the forrest) there is electrobike recharge station - seen this for the first time.

Each country has some sad stories of the unsuccessful dam engineering (Malpasset, FRA or Vajont, ITA). This place is the memento of the Czech (well, Austrian-Hungarian) disaster from 1916, when the dam, built to protect the below valleys against flooding, 10 months in service, being full from 2/3 was hit by the heavy rainfalls. The scared personnel did not open the safety hatches and originally a small leak resulted in complete dam destruction, 65 caulaties and hundreds of destroyed houses. Technically, it is interesting that the dam was to solve the problem on both rivers - Black Desna & White Desna through the tunnel conneting them.

Beautiful nature, interesting history of this place. You have many ways how to get there ( walk, bicycle, scooter, in winter cross-country ski).

we had nice weather, it is easily accessible by bike, there were many mushrooms growing in the near forests there
