The house is perfect, the family is lovely, and the location couldn't be better. Yosney and his family (including their beautiful baby and a charming dog named Lucy) will make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. It's a modern yet traditional feeling home that is super clean. Breakfast (delicious fresh fruit and whatever you like, such as toast, eggs, juice, etc.) is served on a beautiful porch. Yosney, the host, works for the travel office, so he can organize taxis, tours, etc. He even offers Mojito classes! We recommend taking the tour to Topes de Collantes National Park for hiking and swimming (full day) and also Valle de Los Ingenios (half day) if you have time. They have 2 rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. If you're ok with climbing stairs, we recommend the second floor with a big balcony that overlooks one of the most charming residential streets you'll find anywhere. We watched kids playing in the streets, vendors selling their wares, and pigeons coming home to roost. You're just a short walk away from the center of town and great walking streets, live music, etc. The room has air conditioning, a safe, 2 good beds, a private bath, and a lock on the door. The only minor drawback is the water pressure in the shower is low, but it's a small price to pay for a beautiful experience such as this. They even gave us a going-away present (photo CD) as a souvenir. Don't miss this place, and enjoy Trinidad.
