Hostal Casa de Lara

Staying in Casa de Lara was one of our best experiences and memories in Cuba. We arrived in Trinidad quite late, but were welcomed by the families warmly. The next morning was a big surprise, and the house, around 200 years history, is so huge, beautiful and very well preserved and decorated. It was really amazed sitting in the courtyard to have a such rich breakfast, while even a hummingbird around you. The house is centrally located, which means you can walk to bus station and two major plazas in 5 minutes. Most featured restaurants and bars are just next to you, but it is very quite and peaceful when you are in the house. The room is clean, private and well equipped. Highly recommended.

At the beginning of this year I spent a few days staying at Casa Lara. Be impressed by the wonderful and well-preserved colonial house. It seems that we are transported to the 19th century. It has a fabulous patio with plants and fruits that you could collect with your own hands like bananas. The atmosphere of the place is absolutely calm without the stressful noise of big cities. The attention received by Grace and Fidel was very friendly and familiar, always willing to help, accommodate you gladly and guide you to the best places and their surroundings. If you try the Cuban food dishes that they prepare, you will fall in love with the place. I totally recommend it.

A beautiful and tranquil hostal in the very centre of old Trinidad. One of the best preserved and autenthic family houses in town. Highly recommended!
