Es un lugar tranquilo y por lo general pintoresco. Con una estructura muy bonita.
De esta estación salió el primer tren de Latinoamérica en el Recorrido Bejucal-Habana.
Por su importancia histórica en la segunda planta existe un museo ferroviario.
Esta estación ha funcionado como ser de grabación para varias películas y series cubanas.
