In my mind, you can tell the measure of a resort by two measuring sticks - How many return guests and how much fun the staff seem to be having.
In this case, memories Jibacoa hit a home run. We went there on the advice of a friend who has made this place a regular stop and often multiple times a year. His comment was - "Great Value, good food and AMAZING STAFF.
We went to Memories Jibacoa in January 2024, for ten days. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed, instead of 8:00 PM we arrived at the hotel at 5:30 AM the next morning. In our tired stage, my wife forgot her carry on bag on the shuttle bus. On alerting the front desk attendant, she told us that she's got it covered. We had it back within six hours!
It was one wow after another for the next nine days. The food was good, the accommodations were welcoming, but the staff - every one of them greeted us like long lost friends - always with a smile.
Another major surprise was the entertainment. It was outstanding. In my mind it was every bit as good as the Tropicana. I whole heartedly recommend making Memories Jibacoa your next Cuba stop.

Our first time in Cuba and everything was truly AMAZING!!!Awesome service, Damaris- server at the buffet was super, wonderful food (nothing bland about it!!), great entertainment and Umberto, our taxi driver/tour guide (his number (535 529 44372) made our trip the best ever! He spoke perfect English, really knows his history etc. etc. we will definitely return. We lucked out with Memories Jibacoa; we did not have any problems, like others from other resorts. If you want an A++ holiday, definitely go to this great resort!

The most amazing thing about Memories is how friendly everyone is. The staff are beautiful people, It is difficult to name individuals because everyone without exception was extremely efficient and helpful, and created such an atmosphere that it rubs off on all who stay there so the International guests, Canadians, Germans and a few Brits are mostly chatty and very friendly.
The hotel is extremely well managed, beautifully clean, with well kept grounds and restaurants, and the beach is glorious, also clean and well looked after with lots of sunbeds and quality beach towels provided, Snorkeling off the beach is wonderful and the water warm and crystal clear. Our room was amazing with coffee maker, three double beds and a fantastic sea view balcony. Super bathroom (only niggle is that the shower head was a bit leaky.) crisp clean bedding and lots of towels. The Diamond Club was well worth the extra cost but all guests, at whatever level, were well catered for. Food is mostly imported and you have what they can get, however they make the most of what they have and it is all served with efficiency and style. Great trips available from the Hotel. We had three days in Havana which was a great experience, with opulence and poverty sitting side by side.
Take Euros, Stirling or Dollars. preferably in small denominations as it is super to tip regularly as the service is so good. ATM's give out local currency, my Mastercard was acceptable but not Revolute and American Express .
Tourism is so important to Cuba and I would urge anyone to experience this amazing island. Although the economy is so broken the people show no envy and are so pleased and welcoming to tourists.
Thank you Memories.

We just got back from a week at Memories Jibacoa. We had a fantastic vacation and really liked the resort and location.
We upgraded to Diamond level because we are not fans of buffets since we tend to overeat and I like to stay seated during my meal. We loved that we were able to get a la carte breakfast, lunch and we ate at all of the a la carte restaurants too. We did eat once at the buffet for one breakfast and one dinner, and it was good but it would be nicer for everyone to have some Cuban music playing. We have read that there is food shortages in Cuba, but we didn’t feel like anything was really missing, they have lots of fish, chicken, beef, pork and we had lobster a few times and the food was well spiced. So, no complaints!
The service was excellent. Everyone was so nice, and we got to know Elaine our Diamond Club a la carte waitress (she was amazing) and the beach waitress too (I forget her name). They were always there when we needed them. My daughter really enjoyed the buffet breakfast including Ray “omelet guy” who was always smiling and was very kind to her.
The entertainment at night was fun but I would have liked that they inform the guests more of the activities by the beach during the day. We had no idea they had a couple of special lunches/parties with live music at the beach restaurant while we were there, maybe because our beach chairs were too far???
Our room was old, but we expected that. Our fridge didn’t work and we had to get the safety box fixed on our first day – the guy was quick. The bed was super comfy, and the air conditioner was so cold, which is good, so we slept like babies each night. 😊 The property, beach and gardens were well taken care of, and the gym was great, had everything we needed for a good workout.
Our group loved the dogs and cats, they were all super sweet. If only they could get neutered and spayed.
The beach was awesome, super clean, great sand with the odd rock/shell. The lawn chairs were plentiful, never had issues finding one and lots of shade thanks to all of the palm trees.
We are avid snorkelers and absolutely loved that you can snorkel right off the beach to a beautiful healthy reef. There is a bit of bleaching of some coral (so please don’t lather sunblock before getting into the ocean!) and there isn’t a lot of large fish which is the case around most reefs nowadays but all in all we loved that we could snorkel a few times each day. We saw puffer fish, stingrays, scorpion fish, sea snails, and lots of small to medium fish.
The only cons were:
It would be nice if they could extend the restaurant hours a bit because there is no where to eat between 2:30-6:30 unless you go to the sports bar for a sandwich. The deli meat at the bar doesn’t cut it.
And...
On our last day, the latest we could check out was at 2 PM. I had asked a few days prior, and they told me to just go there on the last day to ask. I came with my credit card to the front desk to request 3 more hours and pay for the room, but they wouldn’t allow me to because both of the rooms we booked were already booked with people arriving later that day. Instead, they were kind enough to let us shower in another room which was in a terrible state. There was zero pressure in the shower head and the water wasn’t draining and was half full (past my ankles) when we got there so it was absolutely disgusting. If they are going to let people shower, provide a better room that doesn’t have issues.
Overall, we loved this resort and will definitely go back!
Thank you!

We can't say enough about our time at Memories Jibacoa. Everything has been fantastic. If any issue, the staff are quick to respond to ensure your stay is pleasurable. As always, the staff and local people are very friendly and a pleasure to talk to.

We have never been disappointed in Cuba, and we will certainly be back again.

Love this resort, even first time visit to this island. Rooms were kept clean and tidy, after an issue with our original room we were offered with free upgrade. Restaurants were fine, great selection in the buffet. Good service with beach towels, spa and scuba diving. Very friendly and helpful staff everywhere.

My first time in Cuba was made special by the management and staff at the resort. Nothing was too much trouble, and they looked after all the guest. It was meant to be a one-off holiday of a lifetime, but I might be going back in a couple of years. If I do, it will be to the resort.

Lovely hotel . staff all very friendly . Highly recommended if your thinking of coming to Cuba.
When here get booked in to the trip to Havana in a classic American car our driver was Mario and our tour guide was Wendy who was absolutely amazing she was 11 out of 10 that good ask 1 of the animation team to sort the bookings out for you.
We still got a week to go here but we will definitely come back

Memories Jibacoa (pronounced Hibacoa) is a wonderful hotel, set in a glorious location amongst lots of rolling hills and lush vegetation with a beautiful tree lined beach. It really is that idyllic Caribbean holiday destination that I was looking for. The hotel goes out of its way to make sure the guests want for nothing, with a fantastic array of restaurants, bars, facilities and entertainment. The highlight has to be the staff who were all amazing, friendly and helpful, and genuinely wanted to make sure you had the perfect stay. Of the reviews, which I read before booking the hotel seen, called out individual people. However, I don’t feel this is fair because I felt that everyone from reception to our staff, waiting staff, housemaids, and everyone else were fantastic, friendly, courteous, and helpful.

I would definitely recommend going for the Diamond club upgrade, which you can do once you get to the hotel and is only US$15 per day. This gives you a better selection of more premium drinks, 20% discount on the spa (where I had one of the best, and most relaxing massages ever, for just US$40) and laundry service (I dropped off a few items at about six in the morning and they were washed, pressed and hung back up in my room by midday!) You also have one special meal per weekend (when I went, the main course was fabulous lobster and steak) and also you get to eat in one of the à la carts restaurants; Bella Cucina for breakfast and lunch, which is a nice experience and better on your waistline than doing the (amazing) buffet three times a day! You also have a few other benefits, the best of which was probably Maria, the Diamond Club concierge, who was always at my disposal for making any arrangements and would frequently come up to me to make sure I was happy, even when I was on a Sunlounger on the beach one day!

The choice and variety in the main buffet restaurant was the best I have ever experienced at an all inclusive hotel and there were so many staff both serving and waiting that the experience was first class. There are three other restaurants which are à la Carte and you do need to make a reservation for them, but (unlike some hotels) can go to as many times as you like during your stay. The service and meals in all of these restaurants was superb. There is also a 24 hour medical centre on site, which regrettably I actually got to experience as I rather painfully trod on a Sea Urchin when I was swimming in the sea!

There is plenty of wonderful entertainment laid on each day, with numerous shows and things to do. The production of the evening shows was absolutely fabulous and the entertainers were very talented. Regrettably, it was raining quite a bit when I was there so most of the evening shows had to be performed in the nightclub rather than on the wonderful stage they have set up by the pool. Thankfully on my last night the weather was better and I got to experience the Cuban show on the outside stage where there is more space and a better soundsystem and this was one of the highlights of my stay.

The staff do not expect to be tipped all the time (even the waitresses, who all knew that I tipsped each time would go to walk away as soon as they served my drink and I had to call them back to tip them if I hadn’t got their tip ready! LOL), though they do genuinely appreciate it when you do. I was actually disgusted by how many people weren’t tipping at all, bearing in mind that most of the visitors came from wealthy “western countries” where a couple of dollars wouldn’t have made any difference to them, though would make the world of difference to the staff. My guide for tipping would be $1 at the bar, $2 for the waitress, $3-$5 Buffet restaurant & $5-$10 à la Carte restaurants. This probably worked out at about US$40-US$60 a day.

Been going for 15 years, 24 visits, GREAT staff, people. Great value. Food is good, you won't starve, but you will grumble if you EXPECT Mexico, DR 5 Star American cuisine. Please go ELSEWHERE if that is you!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Memories Jibacoa and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations in every way possible!

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and attended to every need with genuine care and efficiency.

The resort itself is a slice of paradise. Nestled along the stunning coastline, the views were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and the gentle sea breeze was nothing short of magical.

The accommodations were impeccable - clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail in the room design and amenities truly showcased the dedication to guest satisfaction.

The dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The variety of cuisines offered, from exquisite local flavors to international delicacies, left my taste buds in absolute delight. Each meal was a culinary adventure, and the presentation was top-notch.

The activities and entertainment options provided a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Whether it was lounging by the pool with a refreshing drink or exploring the rich culture of the area, there was never a dull moment.

What truly sets Memories Jibacoa apart, however, is the genuine sense of community and camaraderie among guests and staff alike. It felt like a home away from home, where friendships were formed and memories were created.

I cannot recommend Memories Jibacoa enough. It's not just a hotel; it's an experience that will stay with me forever. I can't wait to return and relive these unforgettable moments. Thank you, Memories Jibacoa, for an absolutely incredible stay!

We have been staying at this resort for many years and we can't get enough of it.

We have pets and get extremely home sick when we're away, but the cats & dogs popping in and out of the resort are one of many reasons we continue to stay there.

The Sunwing Rep Mirena, the overall service, accommodations, activities, location, vibe & food make this our favorite vacation spot. It feels like our second home.

Great location and staff.
Rooms in need of update but does not distract from enjoyment. My room overlooked the sea and had all the usual facilities, aircon worked well cleaned daily with towel changes when required. Choice of several restaurants when booked food availability at all restaurants.
The snorkeling is great plus other activities available. One bar is open 24hours and the service is first class.
Occasionally there were shortages but were rectified as soon as possible
If I had to give any criticism and this would be constructivse, is that breakfast cooking of eggs and bacon should start before opening, the waiting line was always too long. On a personal note I would ask management to fix the coffee machine at the beach bar.
I would not hesitate to recommend this resort and am likely to book again.

Beautiful location in a montainous area of northeastern Cuba. The resort had lovely landscaping with palm trees and flowering shrubs. The beach was well-maintained with easy access to an offshore coral reef where one can see hundreds of species of tropical fish. The food, in both the main buffet restaurant and in the three speciality restaurants, was quite good. The rooms were spacious and clean and well air-conditioned. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful. The nightly enterainment was of a high calibre. The resort is only an hours drive to Havana and a half hour to Matanzas and both cities are worth exploring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to my friends.

What a beautiful place, a great setting with a huge pool, amazing beach with snorkelling and bar and views. Helpful staff and reps, the restaurants are good and the speciality venues are well worth the visit. Say "Hi" to Leissam at the pool burger bar, a really nice guy.

We visited in October for our honeymoon. Other than perfect I have no other words to describe the trip. The location is beautiful, the hotel has everything you could wish for and the people are just lovely.
Sarah and Kiki made sure everything was just perfect from wine on arrival to petals on the pillow. It was so so special.
If you want to experience Cuba, this is the perfect choice.
The coral reef is within metres of the shore line, so if snorkeling is for you then look no further.
They have a dive centre and for a small cost you can take a lesson for free and go for a dive if you wish, free catamaran for the resort and go out to feed the fish.
The bar staff, restaurant staff can not do enough to help.
We took a day trip to Havana which was amazing.
We plan to go again for our anniversary, counting down already.
Thank you all for making our trip the best trip ever xxx

Just returned from this resort, a five star rating for Cuba standards. Not everything is perfect but it is a great place to spend a week of beach vacation.
- rooms are spacious, clean, the only downside is the AC which cannot be adjusted and keeps the room pretty cool. Also the AC is quite noisy.
- the beach is great, been many times to Cuba, this is by far the best resort for finding palapas, basically at any time of the day, no more early mornings for catching a good spot. Also the chairs are always in place, no need to request them and subsequently tip the person who manages them.
- very easy and rewarding snorkeling at the beach, lots of various exotic fish meters away from the beach
- the entertainment was very good, each evening a different show at 21:15, professionally performed but this is valid all over Cuba.
- food at the buffet was surprisingly very good, tasty and enough options for all three meals of the day. Because of that didn't even bother for an a-la-carte reservation. A special remark about their very well made tasty pizza, rumors were they had an Italian chef helping them. No lines at the buffet and plenty of tables with very prompt service.
- being closer to Havana than Varadero, makes easier a day trip to the capital city, about one hour by bus. There are organized trips six days a week at a cost of 51 US Dollars (as of Jan 2023)
- as everywhere else in Cuba, super friendly staff, always ready to help. Tipping expectations is not as obvious as at other resorts.
I would definitely return here.

Rooms are clean and large. Staff are excellent. Plenty of activities on site and tours off. Ala cart restaurants have been good also. Large beach area where you can snorkel. Inter net is free but not the best, still need to go to lobby to use.

It's hard to describe this hotel.
You need to be there and try everything that has in there. I love everything and everyone's hard-working stuff, they will bring you a lot of new things in your life. Do I plan to return? With confidence I will say yes and it will be in November of this year 2023.
Thank you Kenya Blanco, you give me a shance walking again, without pain in my leg.
