Jason was amazing! He is knowledgeable and easy going and super helpful! i use a prosthetic leg and wasn’t sure if i could do it, but he and Tony helped me figure it out and took great care of me (and my leg!). If you have a disability question or you’re not sure about trying something, at least talk to Jason and Tony because they - and everyone at the shop - are super supportive. Great atmosphere!!

Stopped by here and rented bikes. They were helpful, friendly and we enjoyed the ride. The trails were good and had fantastic views over the ocean. It is a resort so prices reflect that but they were fair. Be aware, it is pretty warm so choose the time you ride wisely. We stopped a lot to cool off and didn’t cover anywhere near the distance we expected. Also the trails are dry and can have loose gravel compared to what we usually ride. It cut our confidence a bit. But we would do it again … but perhaps at sunrise.

My wife and I went on 2 separate 2.5 hour MTB tours. My guide was Andrey and our ride was awesome. We pushed the pace and the ride had great vibes. We also got lucky and spotted a lot of unique animals. Emmanuel took my wife out. He was accommodating and fun to ride with. She had a great time with him and enjoyed watching his style of riding. We definitely plan to connect with this shop when we find ourselves back here. 🤙

Shop was great, the staff was really friendly, the ride was great. You also had legit bikes, which helped. It felt like a hidden gem, and was so happy to be able to get out to you guys. Thank you #puravida

Had a great tour of the mountains surrounding Catalinas with our guide from Pura Vida Ride. The bikes we rented were in great condition (they have a selection of hard-tail, double suspension, and e-bikes), and the guide was very friendly to some of the n00bs in our group. The only hiccup was with the bike rental process itself; the office staff were somewhat unresponsive the day before via Whatsapp, and a bit slow in getting us out the door the day of the ride, which meant we started later than we would've otherwise liked.

Nice, well equipped sports shop. Bike Rental program was great and there is a wide variety of models to choose from: hard-tail, full-suspension, fat tire, plus size. All models are new and in good condition. The staff is very responsive on inquiries and can answer any questions you have about the trail. The shop is a little hard to find right now with all of the hotel construction but just ask the hotel personnel, and they will get you there right away. The bonus is after a ride you can jump in the water and have a bite to eat at the hotel.

My first time mountain biking last week and the guide Daniel was great! He managed to keep the group together, and get us down the hill even though I was actually quite scared and stressed. The bike was also pretty good quality from what my friends say compared to their previous experiences (since I have no benchmark). We used single suspension bikes (hardbacks?) which was fine for the dry hill trails around las Catalinas. Make sure you have a bottle of water (can clip onto bottle holder on bike) and wear comfortable clothing for warm weather and get some sunscreen since there’s not a lot of shade in the dry season.

The trails were really good, even when they were super wet during a tropical storm. The bikes were very good and well maintained

Well equipped sports shop. During our stay, we'd stop in regularly as well for bottled waters, ice cold beers and empanadas - get the cheese & ham! Great place to sit and relax right off the beach.

Fabulous experience!! Will was our guide and made sure we were set up properly on our Ibis Ripley AF’s, and was the perfect guide out on the trails. Las Catalinas are beautiful and provide some epic views. We will definitely be back.

Superb equipment with friendly and professional staff. I had no mtb experience and Ruben Solis (the best guide in Costa Rica) patiently taught me a whole new set of skills. After 5 days I had 84 miles under my belt and was hungry for more. I had a blast and learned a ton.

Braulio was very friendly when we rented mountain bikes the other day. He took the time to show us the trail system and recommend trails and directions.

I had a great time mountain biking in Las Catalinas thanks to the PV folks. They set me up with a hard tail 29er for five days. Since I was staying down the road, they let me store the bike at their shop. It was super convenient.

The mountain biking was great. I went in the trail system next to their shop. It's a little steep, but not overly technical. There definitely wasn't anything I wanted rear suspension for.

I did have a mechanical issue on day four, which must be a possibility with any bike on these trails. But the issue was practically the best experience of the whole thing. One of their mechanics had the whole thing fixed up for me by the next day.

Great mountain bike trails and excellent selection of bikes. The trail we rode flowed beautifully, with awesome views of the bay and its islands as well as the countryside. We also enjoyed their kayaks, the bay was a perfect location. We didn't try any of their SUPs but were impressed by the selection. And the guys were all wonderful to talk with, and really cared that we have fun!

We love it here. Beautiful location, friendly staff, and great rentals. We have hire kayaks and bikes from here. The owners are lovely, helpful, and knowledgeable of the trails and surrounding areas. The have fantastic gelato/ice cream that my kids beg for. Unbelievably beautiful beach here. Great play space next to the shop. I highly recommend this spot and store. Stop by and give it a try. Your family will thank you. 5-star all the way!

Impressive bike shop in a surprising location. My wife and I rented bikes for the morning to hit the mountain bike trails surrounding Las Catalinas. The brand new Trek Fuel full suspension 29" bikes were delightful. And the surrounding trails lived up to what I'd heard: world class single track.

On top of the bike shop portion, there have surf and SUP board rental, a coffee shop, beach-front location, and an awesome restaurant across the way, where we stopped for breakfast after the ride.

Friendly staff and a great rental selection will bring me back.

Fun network of well maintained trails that you could spend a long day riding. Friendly helpful staff. We were on a bike tour and had an issue with sticky defective SRAM brakes and the mechanic new immediately what the problem was and was able to repair it.

Incredible moderate trails for ages 12 and up. Bikes in great shape. Mint condition. Nice clean shop. Some great downhill as well. Well worth the trip from the Four Seasons.

Awesome! Rent mountain bikes, paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling gear. Best cold brew! Great place to hang on wood rocking chairs and watch beach, Monkees, iguanas and chat up other folks.

We tried paddle boarding for the first time and Tony was super helpful. He took his time explaining everything for us. I was nervous about getting past the breaks in the water so he helped to push me past them to be sure I didn’t spill out. Highly recommend this place and the staff!
