Carpe Diem Café

The food was amazing and so was the service. 16 of us pulled in right at opening and they served with a smile. The beach fit sandwich was amazing. It was under the breakfast menu, but it would be great for lunch or dinner too. Highly recommend!

Our entire family loves this place. The service is great. The food and coffee is delicious and there is a beach within walking distance. What more could you want for a day in the Potrero area!

Absolutely love this place! We grabbed sandwiches, coffee, and donuts to take to the beach with us, and every item was amazing!! I already can't wait to go back to Potrero and visit Carpe Diem many more times

The coffee was excellent. Good cappuccino and ice coffee. Both hard to find around. The place has some seating outside and the service is very good. Some pastries and sandwiches. Also great granola.

My wife and I recently spent 2 1/2 weeks at Playa
Penca. We walked to Carpe Diem almost every day and ordered a different sandwich each time. We loved this place. The food and drinks were wonderful and the owner, Emma, and her staff, Gerald & Katrina were charming. Can’t wait to come back. There is really no need to go anywhere else!!

I live in the area and go to Carpe Diem 3-4x a week. The owner, Emma, is the best and the entire vibe of the place is my favourite. Delicious coffees (I get an iced latte). The Chia Vida, French Toast, Margherita sandwich & Yellow Submarine smoothie are my favourite. Love this place!

The “Yellow Submarine” smoothie is incredible! Also got a delicious sandwich and chia seed bowl. Can’t wait to go back.

They make the Gallo Pinto as delicious as my grandma used to make. Beautiful place, great service and quality coffee.

I figured I’d leave a review after coming here every day of our vacation. This place is fantastic. The smoothies, coffees and sandwiches are all super fresh and delicious. We were surprised at just how yummy every single thing was. The service is very nice and the ambience was relaxing. Definitely check this place out for breakfast or lunch if you’re in the area

The name says it all. This cute, local shop has everything you need on a hot Costa Rican afternoon. Friendly, fast service and a nice sitting area with comfy chairs and fans.

We just got back from our first trip to Costa Rica and came here every morning. Let me tell you, this cafe is amazing. We loved the coffee, treats, and wonderful staff. Thank you for being so kind and welcoming to our family! ❤

We saw the reviews for this restaurant online and thought we would give it a try. We were so happy we did!
We enjoyed the best Cuban sandwichs we have ever had! The hot sauce on the table is incredible and adds to the already amazing sandwich.We purchased several bottles of the hot sauce to bring home.
The cappuccino we had at CD was our favourite of the trip. Having coco in place of cinnamon on the cappuccino was delicious.
The staff were friendly and service was top notch. Thanks again for getting the hot sauce ready for us. We will definitely visit again when we are in town.

Lovely cafe, restaurant and tourist shop. Perfect place to grab a coffee and donut, a fruit bowl, smoothie or full typical tico breakfast.

Our breakfast was well prepared, fresh and large enough I could not finish it without the help of the owners small, adorable dog.

Service was excellent and very friendly considering our poor spanish skills.
