Johann Bistro

It was way overdue, but my first experience at Johann Bistro was great. I took a Pollo Gourmet sandwich (delicious) and fries (delicious) to go, enjoyed an ice-cold Corona in a friendly and clean atmosphere while I waited and was on my way in 5-10 minutes. I'll definitely be back soon. Just a block off the beach in Coco. Sandwich & fries were about $15.

The food here is fantastic! I had giant coconut curry shrimp with mango curry dip. My kids had Sushi, pizza, fish 'n chips, and the Bacon guac sandwich. They were all very good and the price was excellent for the quality you get especially considering Coco prices these days. My wife's mint lemonade was great as we're all the drinks. The owner is from the south of France and I would say his food would reflect french dining expectations. I can't recommend this place enough.

I love this place! The food is a mix between Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Asian. You can get crunchy sandwiches on ciabatta bread, sushi and their drinks are amazing. How could i forget the fries! THE best fries I've had in Coco. Try the Jamaican hibiscus tea. So good. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe and is great to eat with family or friends. Not a lot of parking as it's on the strip downtown towards the beach. But you can park along the street and walk over.

We had some DELICIOUS sandwiches here. This is the type of place you come back to everyday of the trip. It’s a wait to get the food, but that’s mainly because it’s all made to order and something you will find everywhere in CR. So be patient! It’s worth it!!

To begin with, the place looks amazing and well decorated. I took the proteina smoothie and it was delicious, especially with the hot weather! The other was an iced caramel coffee and from what I've been told, was delicious as well.

We came back for a pizza later and took the Margherita one and it wasn't too packed and perfect for a snack.

The place as AC as well so you can cool off while eating a bite!

Amazing place to eat… gourmet food, come in for lunch as that’s when the burgers and sandwich menu is available!! The staff is incredibly hospitable, the cook is top notch.

Awesome experience! Definitely the best miso soup I’ve ever had, and the Caribbean Roll is so unique and delicious. A great spot for a delicious meal and wonderful service!

Excellent espresso! The staff is super friendly and they have air conditioning which is nice on a hot day.

I didn't eat, but I had an iced capuchino with Baileys while I took a break from the walking.

An awesome place! We came to Coco Beach from RIU Guanacaste resort 2 days ago and found this place just at the LAR shuttle stop. I ordered fish and chips for lunch and my daughter ordered Bistro burger. My dish was one of the best fish and chips dishes I've ever had. The fish was very tasty, tender and covered by thin crust. The sauce was just right for the dish. And my daughter's burger was amazingly tasty too! And their coffee is really good too! The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. We were served by Jamil, and his service was impeccable. Amazing discovery at Coco Beach! I highly recommend the place.

The service was great and the waiter was very helpful. We had the pizza and for dessert the tiramisu, both delicious and we are definitely going back again.

One bite into my sandwich and I could tell this place was a winner! Everything tastes so fresh and delicious. Drinks too, fresh made iced tea and a smoothie were both great. Don't skip this place over! Take a break from the heat and enjoy some great food!

This was our first visit, but we will be back! The coffee is so well done, the food is amazing, and the service is top quality.
We ordered the crepes for breakfast, and wow. Amazingly thin and delicious. Not like all the crepes in the U. S., that are mostly like thin pancakes, these are made perfectly.
The OJ is squeezed when you order it, and is delightful.
The service was friendly and quick.
This place gets our highest recommendation.

One wouldn't expect to find sushi and pizza on the menu at most places. Then again, this is a beach-side restaurant in Costa Rica!

We had the sushi, which we can say was excellent. (Plantanos on sushi - who new?!) But then, when there are fish markets all around, you know the fish will be fresh. Don't be afraid to try it...

The best Caesar salad and crepe I've ever had! I had them 2 days in a row! The staff is really friendly and professional! I highly recommend them! Their prices are reasonable too. Well worth every cent 🙂

Beautiful little spot right near the beach. I have had a smoothie & pizza. Both were delicous.

Our favorite place to eat in Playa Coco. The menu is quite varied. The staff are very good (would remember our drink orders and just automatically serve us on each visit). They are excellent at accommodating food allergies. The quality is top notch. We tried a little of everything on the menu - crepes (the favorite), burger, sushi, sandwiches. All of the dishes were great.

Only quality ingredients are used and a superb chef combine to make this place a not-to-be-missed restaurant. Flavors are unique and tasty and the menu selection is different from what you find in most restaurants. We will definitely be back!

I am a person a purist! Having spent summe s in Italy and been my half Italian! I know a good pizza hen I taste 1.;.Well I know a good pie when I taste 1. This.was 1 of the he best pies I have outside of Italy.
And the Margarita weren't bad at all.
