We have been members since we moved here two and a half years ago and it is like having our own little Costco in Costa Rica. It has a large selection of members only and Kirkland items. Great alcohol selection also.

This is Costco in Costa Rica. Instead of Kirkland they have "member select.” The prices, selecting, and return policy isn't as good as US Costco but I met a bunch of expats here so the overall culture remains.
They do have the same dog food Costco sells. That's a big plus for me.
In LA Costco's 10 min away. Here it's 3 hours away and it's still worth it to get their good quality good dog food and stock up on the staples.

I love PriceSmart. Limited selections at this warehouse-type big box store. I went for a garden hose and gym equipment.

Very close to a Costa Rican equivalent of a Costco in the United States. There is a bakery, a tire shop, rotisserie chicken (just like the USA - cheap but not quite as cheap) an eye glasses area, and everything else that you've come to expect at Costco.

Electronics are more expensive than the USA, but as cheap as they get in Costa Rica. Definitely stop at this place on your way to wherever you are staying to buy things that will remind you of home.

We had a great experience with the tire shop.

Arrived around 10am opening day. The employees had everything under control. No crowds (yet).

PriceSmart has a lot of options that we can not find at Walmart or other stores. Good security. Nice employees, and we typically get a 10 piece hot wings at the food area for our drive home.

We are Canadian and we love our Costco stores
And price mart is our costso replacement 😍

This is pretty much Costco, but with a tropical flair.
To note, you need a seperate membership, your Costco card won't work here. (if you're Canadian, SaveOn/Pricesmart cards also don't work here, it's not the same store)
It's a great place to stock up when you're fresh off the plane. You can get a lot of stuff bulk and it'll last a while.
They've got a pretty decent selection of fruits, veggies, bakery items, and meats.
The staff aren't the friendliest, but it's a large busy store so it's not a surprise. They've got a lot going on, a lot to keep track of. They are very efficient, though.

Love the store. Liberia doesn't have everything they have is say Escazú, but lots to choose frome and prices are good.

It's definitely worth the trip to Liberia airport, if you're going to stock-up for an extended stay. The large grocery stores in Playas del Coco have better prices than smaller stores but everything has become so expensive here!

It’s as good as you can get comparable to Walmart. Clean and well stocked. It’s a place to find what you need as a foreigner you will feel at home.

Great place to find everything you miss from home. Plus the 1 day free pass for visitors is awesome. Stock up !

Great club base shopping. Set up just like the US counterparts. Great for stocking up and party needs. Plenty of parking but usually busy most everyday

Really nice place

Great place to go grab a few things if you fly into Liberia. Walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn. You can get a day pass (and skip the yearly membership fee of $35) and pay 10% extra at check out. Friendly staff. Like a small Costco.

This is Costco under a different name ( they call it Pricesmart in Central and South America and theCaribbean). But it is Costco Good selection, meats, cheeses, booze and everything else you expect from Costco. Great staff. Get your membership, you won't regret it.

One of the more enjoyable places to shop in Liberia, though sometimes it's unfortunate that everything comes in such large sizes (tough if you are single or have limited storage space). But there is a lot of choice and many good brands and the store itself is appealing.

If you are a Costco member, they do not accept your card. Instead, they give you a tourist membership and charge you 10% more on your bill.
