Jacó Point of Return

This is a serious hike, but you are very likely to have it all to yourself. Its 15min walk uphill from where the road ends. Then a 5min walk down to the beach itself. A beautiful beach greets you right away. Probaly about 50-100 meters long. If your adventurous, you can climb along the cliffs to where the ocean crashes into the rocky cliffs. It's definitely something special.

Easy walk along the shore until you reach the Jaco Point of return. The island of Herradura is not accessible from here.

Hermosas caminatas junto al mar

A nice walk out there but from the end of Calle Playa Balsal there is now no way through to the beach. If there was a trail you can't see it... it's completely overgrown and the only road that looked like it could get you there was locked off by a big gate. Lots of beautiful birds to see though and I even saw some white faced monkeys!

Once you cross the iron gate on your left on C. Playa Balsal. you can't drive much beyond if you are driving a sedan. We parked there and walked. Once we walked about 100 meters, the areas is VERY completely over grown with thorny bushes. It's hard to cross a small ravine. We decided to turn back. If you plan on visiting, wear protective clothing for your legs.
