What a wonderful stay we just wrapped up. The hotel is beautiful and well cared for. Tons of wildlife all around us because it is located at the edge of the park. We saw aguti, toucans, three different types of monkeys, iguanas and other lizards. There is a short path to the beach which we utilized every day. Yes it's muddy and lined with vendors but such easy beach access. We loved it. Also the food was great at the hotel and affordable. We spent way more visiting one of the local sodas on the street leading to the park and not as good.the staff was amazing and so nice and helpful. A special shout out and thank you to Alfredo. Would 100% recommend and return.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at San Bada Hotel in Costa Rica! From the moment I arrived, the staff, including Alfredo, Steven, and Karen, went above and beyond to make my experience exceptional.

Alfredo, Steven, Karen, and the entire staff The dining experience at the hotel was equally outstanding, with delicious local cuisine served in a beautiful setting. I particularly enjoyed the fresh seafood dishes and tropical fruit cocktails. cuisine served in a beautiful setting. I particularly enjoyed the fresh seafood dishes and tropical fruit cocktails.

In conclusion, San Bada Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It's the perfect choice for travelers looking for a luxurious and eco-conscious retreat in the heart of Costa Rica's natural beauty. I can't wait to return and experience their exceptional hospitality once again.

San bada review

Magical and splendid!! Highly recommended!! Our amazing vacation started with an airport pick up arraigned through Hotel San Bada itself. Coming out of the airport we were greeted by Ivan pronounced (Yvonne) holding a sign with our names on it. He had a very nice Mercedes shuttle for us and it was a wonderful private ride to Hotel San Bada. Ivan had great music playing and asked if we wanted any stops along the way. We chose the crocodile bridge. It was beautiful and Ivan even joined us to take pictures of us. I had in mind a restaurant I wanted to sample near the bridge and he drove us there. It was closed since it was a Sunday but none the less impressed us by trying to take us.
We were greeted at Hotel San Bada which is directly next to the Manuel Antonio National park with wonderful fruit drinks and relaxed by the pool for a few minutes while our luggage was taken up to our suite. The suite was amazing it was the Ballena suite. Recently renovated with full kitchen , separate bedroom and jacuzzi on the up top balcony. Although we were wowed by this beautiful modern suite. I had my heart set on the mogotes suite. Hoping I didn’t seem ungrateful I asked if we could switch rooms and they made it happen. Although older and not remodeled our mogotes suite was everything we dreamed of. It was beautiful and classic. The craftsmanship of this room from the foyer to the amazing ceiling had us in awe. Along with 3 balconies on our main suite floor. We also had a huge upstairs private terrace. This terrace was what dreams are made of. One side was directly over the rainforest and one side faced the beach. The majestic sounds that came from both sides was intense and a completely submerging. Nothing we have ever experienced before. Our terrace had a back door that led out to the adult pool. It was like our own private pool. It faced the jungle and was alive with all its sounds. We got amazing lighting shows from up there. After a good relaxing swim a few times we ordered some snacks that were delivered to our room and absolutely delicious!! I highly suggest the ceviche. It’s amazing!! We spent 6 nights at Hotel San Bada. Breakfast is included with your stay and absolutely delicious!! Because it is green season we had our breakfast cooked to order most days with a buffet one day. One morning we got an up close and personal visit from a sugar stealing monkey. Huge gratitude and appreciation for to all the staff. These are some seriously hard working people. Every detail to this hotel is impeccable. So clean and shiny. We literally saw one of the housekeepers take off her shoes to mop the floor!! All I could say is WOW!! Everybody was kind and always greeted us kindly with pure Costa Rican pride. We learned the true “PURA VIDA” way of life and we will cherish it forever. This amazing trip was won on “Let’s make a deal” and never a spot we had imagined vacationing in. But we find ourselves already dreaming of our return to paradise. Huge thank you to all San Bada staff. You made our vacation magical. See you soon.

Amazing place, beautiful rooms, especially the top 2 floors, with a gorgeous view of the sunset. Worth the price of admission.

Pls pls buy the park tickets well in advance. Unfortunately the park tickets are boughts by scalpers who sell at three times the price.

Also the san bada park is ok, but the real important thing is the secluded beach with strong waves. It is part of the park route.

Its a stunning stunning place to visit.

So hotel is amazing with a great pool, next door to park and has great rooms.

Excellent buffet breakfast.

The congo restaurant onsite is world class. Try the seafood.

This is our 2nd time in Manuel Antonio and first time to this hotel. It is next to the Manuel Antonio National Park Entrance… a few feet away which is convenient since we didn’t have a car. The road leading to the park gets very busy when the park is open and parking is not easy. It has easy access to the beach, restaurants, bars, and stores. We saw wildlife around the resort and howler monkeys hang out on the trees outside our veranda. The hotel has free buffet breakfast which is very convenient and the sushi restaurant has all you can eat deal on Tuesdays. The staff were very friendly. We were evacuated from Tortuguero due to the concern that tropical storm Bonnie would hit the island as a hurricane. I called San Bada if they had availability since we needed a room a day early than our original reservation. The front desk agent was understanding and gave us the same daily rate. The hotel has many amenities including a fully equipped gym. I was traveling with my 2 daughters and we felt very safe. There are security guards. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great resort hotel. The location is fantastic with easy beach access and immediately beside the entry to Manuel Antonio park. The rooms were spacious and nice. They have two in pools and multiple restaurants. Great place to stay when visiting Manuel Antonio!

San Bada is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Manual Antonio. Not only its excellent location next to the park and the beaches, but all the available facilities (swimming pools, restaurants both in terms of quality and quantity, very comfortable room, etc.) allowed us to enjoy some wonderful days. Special mention deserves all the staff always very attentive and cordial to any need that is requested.
Special thanks to Gerardo, Francisco and Elisa.

Excellent choice to stay. Next door to Manual Antonio National park. The hotel has a tunnel built to lead directly to the beach (3-4mins walk). Rooms are good size and Francisco at the front desk was super helpful. The restaurant serves good breakfast and also has wide options for lunch and dinner. Don't forget to grab fresh coconut water from the vendor outside.

Our stay was very good. We stayed here for 1 night based on 2 different recommendations from 2 different guides. It is literally a few feet and adjacent to the park entrance. The hotel was not very full so that may have made a difference but our room was better than expected and the hotel was more than adequate. Everything worked as you would expect and the service and breakfast were great. I can see that if the hotel were full it would probably be very crowded in the common areas. Also we used a guide for the park through the hotel at a cost of $51 USD plus 13% tax that did include the price of admission to the park and it was well worth it. The park was fairly busy but to have a guide’s knowledge and ability to spot the animals as well as the spotting scope that they use to get great photos with your own phone was well worth the cost. Pura Vida!

In early March, we spent a week in Costa Rica, staying at Hotel San Bada part of that time. The hotel is lovely and the location, right next to the park gave us a chance to hear the howler monkeys and see a bare throated tiger heron in a tree next to the hotel 6th floor outdoor bar area.
The entire staff at the hotel is excellent. Many thanks to the waiters, and especially Gerardo for his fun attempts to teach us how to speak some Costa Rican-spanish, and he always said "hi" and welcomed us by name each time we saw him.
We look forward to our next visit there.

Right next to manual antonio park. Nice big pool. Great AC. decent food at restaurant.
Bar on top floor, with a small pool.
Fridge and coffee maker in room.
Opposite from pool are room balconies, those views are ugly, but no big deal

Awesome location, monkeys and birds right outside our 5th story balcony. Very Covid safe (open air), friendly staff, and helpful front office. The building is a bit dated and needs some updates and the food could be better. But over all an excellent spot! If you’re there for nature, this is the place. Juan was especially helpful for us birders!

My wife and I took a day trip to San Bada to visit the rainforest national park... UNBELIEVABLE EXCURSION! We were provided with 3 meals during the course of our 12 hr day; we saw monkeys, sloths, lizards, bats, wild pigs, crabs, beautiful flora, and a gorgeous waterfall along our way 😀. The views from atop the San Bada resort restaurant were breathtaking... and the food was delicious! We paid $130 each for the day, and we were completely satisfied.

I’ve been visiting San Bada for a couple of years now. It’s close to the public beach and a minute away from the National Park. It also offers a sushi bar at the top floor of the hotel with a phenomenal view overseeing the ocean. San Bada offers a distinct and a unique atmosphere that no other place offers. It’s always a pleasure to visit Manuel Antonio and San Bada because it’s a different experience ever time I visit!

This is our preferred hotel to stay at whenever we come to Manuel Antonio! Very friendly and helpful staff. Literally steps from the park entrance and fabulous pools with wet bars to relax at when you get back from the beach. They have been working on pool maintenance since our last visit and it was great to have to fountains and spa jets going again. Free breakfast buffet is wonderful with typical Tico foods as well as plenty of other options ( pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, omlette bar). Close walk to public beach and plenty activities nearby. We highly recommend!

Great place right at the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park. Beautiful pool area and good restaurants. Rooms were good with the typical amenities, you're really here for the location and the views though 😊
