It was a great stay. The owner is very welcoming and helpful. They gave us good tips to go around the area and see beautiful beaches. The room was clean and comfortable. There's a supermarket and a seafood restaurant right next to the hotel. You don't need a 4×4 to get there. The road is in good condition and easy to find.

We stayed 4 days. We feel like family because of how awesome everyone in this family run business treated us. This is THE place to stay in the area.

we had a great time at Santa Elena lodge. The Cuajiniquil area is off the main touristic routes, which makes it very peaceful. we often had the stunning beaches for us alone.. The owner of the lodge, Manuel a former fisher, knows all the best beaches, walks and activities to do around Cuajiniquil and happily helps organize them. if we ever come back to Costa Rica, we will plan more time to stay and explore that beautiful area.

The Santa Elena Lodge is the best B&B in the area. The hosts are super friendly and very accommodating. The restaurant/gift store and nearby grocery store make it very convenient if you don't feel like driving. A very relaxing place with a safe environment.

My husband and I stayed here for8 days. We wanted to get a sense of Costa Rica without a lot of tourists. We found this place based on the high ratings in the Guanacaste region. We are so glad to have discovered this authentic part of Costa Rica and the Santa Elena Lodge. It is run by a family who couldn't be better hosts. The youngest daughter speaks very good english, making it an easy way to learn about the area and the history of the lodge. The family is so helpful and welcoming. The place is kept up very well and clean. We highly recommend this place for your stay in the Guanacaste region close to beaches and natural reserves in the Dry Tropical forested region

Quite and comfortable place. Manuel and his family are always available for any request or advice to facilitate and personalise your stay. Personally I felt like home all the time. Thanks to them I learned many interesting things about Costa Rica. The restaurant offers good food at a good price. The breakfast is traditional and very good. This place is out of the touristic confusion and very close to amazing spots like Santa Rosa National Park. A place like this it is difficult to find in any country thanks to positive and genuine spirit of the people that are working here.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Family run and owned. Entire family met us and shared the family history of the lodge. Beds were super comfy, rooms were comfy clean, a.c. was awesome. Mother has a beautiful garden in back yard. We had an awesome breakfast. Restaurant next door was awesome. Price was as advertised. WiFi great reception. Father provided info about nearby attractions. Service was excellent.

Santa Elena Lodge is a gem in the rough. If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience, stay here. This family run business has created a comfortable, beautiful ,clean and accomodating place for travelers of all types. If you are traveling to Cuajiniquil for sport fishing, diving or snorkeling, the local dive shop is less than 500 meters away and provides an exceptional experience! If you are looking to explore the reserve , national park or quiet sandy beaches, Santa Elena Lodge is the place to call home. There is a grocery store and restaraunt right next door. The youngest daughter speaks very good english and the rest of the family is very engaging, sharing history, local politics and nature.

A wonderful, friendly family run lodge built by hand of local hardwoods, complete with restaurant and store. There is also a Mini grocery store right next door for day trip supplies. The Lodge owner, Don Manuel, was extraordinarily helpful and bent over backwards to make our one week stay with his family here in Cuajiniquil an absolute delight. Manuel’s family treated us so well that we felt we had become temporary members! His son runs the adjoining Arrecife Restuarant, which serves such good seafood and other Tico dishes that we probably gained five pounds! His daughter runs the adjoining Tico Souvenir Shop, filled to the brim with souvenirs, local handicrafts, hammocks and more. The rooms are very clean, cozy and well equipped - with WifFi, AC, closets, full tiled bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Manuel’s immense local knowledge of Guanacaste and its many National Park, Forest and Marine Reserves evidently attracts scientists and nature lovers from all over the world. During our stay in early December, 2022, the Lodge guests included researchers and students from the University of California and the Smithsonian Institution.

Simple, very clean and comfortable. Perfect if you appreciate quiet places. Location is perfect for visiting Junquillal beach (ACG) and Santa Rosa National Park (Murciélago sector). Tasty breakfast included.

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at the Santa Elena Lodge. The rooms and beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the shower was very satisfying. My son appreciated the air conditioning in room. The lodge was finished in beautiful and aromatic hardwood on the walls and ceiling. The owner Manuel and his family were welcoming and helpful. If your Spanish is non-existent, like ours, his daughter’s English was more than adequate. She helped us to arrange a local guide to the Santa Rosa National Park and a second guide for a fishing trip. There is good grocery store on one side of the lodge and restaurant on the other side.
