4 of us went there for the river boat tour and lunch. A bit out of the way to find but great people right from the start. Lots of crocodiles, iguana and birds. Francisco and Caesar were our guide and captain. Very knowledgeable and personable. Then our meal was as good as it gets and totally authentic. Highly recommended.

We loved our boat tour and lunch! Patricia, Ramon, Francisco, and Felix took such good care of us on this first experience of Costa Rica. Their friendliness, warmth and caring is much appreciated!
We saw lots of crocodiles, playful monkeys, iguanas, a 'jesus' lizard and birds.
I admire how they source and support local families.
What a great day!
P.s. give yourself lots of time to get there if driving. Signage from Santa Cruz is non-existent but locals were always helpful along the way.

Highly recommend. We did a private boat tour for birding photography and can’t say enough about our guide Rubin and captain Cesar. They both spotted so many different birds and wildlife. The lunch following our tour was amazing all authentic dishes and the food is locally sourced. The operation is family run and they employ many that live in the small town. There’s a true love for their community. Recommend booking directly with them, very accommodating.

We had a very nice time there! Our guide and boat captain were amazingly good at spotting wild animals and we definitely recommend a private tour!
The lunch was really good as well and the pottery demo was really instructive!

Really fun for bird photography. The optional lunch was really great! One of the better lunches we had. These are just cell phone pics but I was able to bring my telephoto lens and tripod on the boat and got wonderful pics of many different species

I have been visiting this family business for more than 20 years, when they were taking their first steps in tourism, I discovered this beautiful family that works together and with the people where they cook authentic food for you. What they give you is a meal full of love, homemade food, they also count on you on the Tempisque River on the banks of the Palo Verde National Park where you can observe an enormous amount of life In this paradisiacal place you will be able to observe a lot of wildlife such as crocodiles, iguanas, monkeys, different birds, insects, trees and much more that will leave you needing more time to continue observing.I invite you to discover on your trip to Palo Verde National Park.

Fantastic day!! From the moment we arrived to coffee and fresh juice, and taste of hand made tortillas (made from scratch). The river tour was next, which lasted about an hour and a half. The boat tour was great. We saw lots of monkeys and crocodiles , very close up , several species of birds , iguanas and lizards. After the tour we were treated to an amazing lunch , all local , organic and delicious. Highly recommend!!

I really like this experience, the food at the restaurant and the homemade ice cream is spectacular! The tour was great, we saw monkeys and several birds, and many crocodiles. The boat is on really good condition, I felt safe! I also had the opportunity to meet the owners , a family that together grow this business since so long, helping locals and commerce around! Very happy to choose this place! Thank you Palo Verde Boat tour for such a great day!

We (my girlfriend and I) loved this experience. We went during low tide and saw so many crocodiles, iguanas, birds, white faced monkeys and even some howlers. We were also lucky enough to see a pair scarlet macaws in their nest up in a tree. Would definitely recommend this if you like seeing wildlife. If however you weren’t able to see a variety of wildlife the staff has great hospitality and are very knowledgeable. The food was fantastic, maybe one of the best traditional dishes we had here. And we even got a demonstration on traditional pottery making. Recommended for all age groups!

Best pleasantly surprised experience in Costa Rica. While a 9 am boat float on brackish water was not the tour we looked forward to it was great. Francisco our guide helped us see howler Monkeys, birds galore, crocodile, baby crocs and a crock eating a fish. We also saw the white faced monkeys on each side of the river claiming territory and being very vocal to each other. The add on $11 for lunch was more than worth it, they were great with dietary restrictions. To add onto the great adventure we also watched them make it possible for wheelchair bound to go and they stopped to pick up trash in the river. I was glad we chose them as the operator.

We had a great time! Good boat experience with lunch. A little bumpy on the drive, but don’t worry it’s not difficult.

Our group of 15 had an amazing boat tour! We all agreed it was one of the highlights of our trip! We saw tons of crocodiles, birds, and monkeys. We were greeted by Marie with delicious coffee and juice. Our guide, Francisco, and our driver, Manuel, were extremely friendly and spotted so many animals that we never would have seen on our own. One of the people in our group uses a wheelchair and they were extremely accommodating and helped us get him onto the boat. Thank you for a great morning!
