Maxi Palí

This is a Walmart and Dollar store rolled into one but in Costa Rica. Had just what I randomly needed that I didn't pack for a trip. Easy self check out and clean store.

Good, large shop.

This is similar to a small Kmart or really small Walmart in the USA. Great little local store with a wide selection of items at reasonable-ish prices. Much less expensive than the smaller stores that are closer to the beach.

Prices are reasonable for vegetables and everything else, if you like imports that s is not the place, Maxi Pali is for Costa Rica standards

Best store to shop at for self catering in your condo in my opinion.
Meat, fruit, vegetables. In two weeks I bought 2.8kg chicken breasts (not trimmed all that great), 5 pineapples (₡390each) and two sandias.

This is the Walmart affiliated store in Costa Rica although there was also a Walmart in Liberia. It is the best place to buy groceries as inexpensively as you can around Tamarindo

They've got good prices for the area, and a great variety of food, some good clothing options, lots of home goods, good fruit/vegatable selection (though perhaps fruit stands close by would have more variety/freshness) and they have a small bakery that makes a few good pastries and bread. One thing to remember is that most of the Maxi Pali stores don't provide carry out bags (note: this one is the exception, though they charge a small fee per bag) so, just wanted to mention in case you get a cart load of items. Again, good variety with good prices, would recommend over other grocery stores in the area for sure.

Seems like they are associated with Walmart. I noticed lots of similar brands. They have a decent selection of many things from electronics to produce.

If you live in the area it's the best place to go shopping. You won't get ripped off

Walmart of the area, actually owed by walmart. Inhalers for like 6 bucks for my brother vs 60 her in the states. 299,000 = 498.33 American dollars for a 50 in tv.

Small version of walmart. Has everything you need. For the most part

Good selection and always friendly. They tolerate the ignorance of us newbies to Costa Rica with good humor.

Great to have here in Huacas. Its now one our favorites.
