Being deathly afraid of dentists and dentistry, and needing my entire bottom teeth extracted, I was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr Chavez. His office is immaculate, his staff professional and all work is done on premises. Dr Chavez couldn’t have been kinder or more competent. I decided to redo my uppers so I could finally have white teeth. I had 6 implants on the bottom and a bridge and crowns on the top. This was not an easy process, but his consideration and concern made it bearable. I traveled from the USA to Costa Rica and it was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. So being super afraid of the dentist most of my life until now. From start to finish it's been the most pleasant experience I've ever encountered at a dentist. That chair is the scariest thing to me and now I have no fear. After my second root canal in my entire life the first one being a complete nightmare in the states and this one here in Costa Rica it was painless and a unbelievable experience. Roughly a year ago, after we had moved to Jaco, I contacted this clinic regarding full replacements, implants, uppers and lowers. The time span to get the implants completed was just a few days. We were able to take our time since we lived there and didn't have to leave right away. The results are excellent, in fact, today, August 22nd, 2023, I had a cleaning appointment with Riverstone Dental here in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The Dental Hygienist commented several times while she was cleaning and polishing, regarding the high quality of work that was done. The application and fit was so well done that she found no food or plaque, on, under, or around the teeth or gum line. Thank you Dr. Chevez. We have referred Chevez Dental with multiple friends, expats, around Jaco, who have gotten work done, also very satisfied. I think you'll be pleased!

I went down there last week and had root canals and veneers. OUTSTANDING experience overall!!! I would definitely recommend anyone to this remarkability clean and modern Dental Clinic. Not only was I impressed with how clean it was there, but I was also incredibly happy with how accommodating the entire process was. I got the quote before I went down there and that is exactly what I paid. They created a dental plan, arranged the hotel, and even picked me up at the airport in San Jose and drove me to my hotel. Which, by the way was in walking distance to the clinic and local shops. Here is a picture of my horrible teeth before. The after photo was at the hotel they arranged for me. Have to say though.............LOVE MY NEWFOUND CONFIDENCE!!!

I needed help. I had to have extensive work done on my teeth and Dr. Dario Chaves provided me with the expertise needed. I had all of the work done in two days. One tooth needed to be pulled and replaced he did it in two hours. Dr. Chaves has all equipment on site to make the crowns so you don't get a temporary crown then have to go back at another time and get the real one put in (Best technology on site). The staff was professional, accommodating, and friendly. Dr. Lucy took care of my cavities and shaped my teeth up afterwards to make my bite perfect. Second to none. Best experience at the dentist I ever had. My teeth look amazing, there was minimal pain and all at a unbelievable price. Dr. Chaves and staff are honest, hard working, and professional at their craft.

Dr. Chaves and his staff provide excellent dental care. Their equipment is state of the art. We have have had 4 implants and 7 teeth crowned. They fit perfectly and were 60% LESS than what my US dentist would have charged. Dr. Chaves is honest. I was told by my US dentist I would need 8 root canals and crowns. Dr. Chaves said that I didn't need them and to not let anyone tell me otherwise.
And, he's a really nice person :)

Dr. Chaves is without question the best dentist I have ever visited and that includes many fine dentists in the USA. Dr. Chaves is simply Incredibly talented.
State of the art technology, equipment and professional staff, he fitted me with several permanent crowns ( rear molar) that have perfect look, perfect fit, completely painless and without once hitting my gag reflex . All in one, 1.25 hour visit per! My new dentist is Dr. Chaves at Jaco Beach, Costa Rica! It is without question worth the trip!

I went down to Costa Rica on a business trip and visited Dr. Chaves' practice while I was there to take care of a couple of fillings that needed dental work.
I am fully insured in the US but even being insured, the price I paid at this dental practice is substantially lower than what I would had paid had I used my regular dental provider back home, thanks to no fat insurance companies in the middle.
I will gladly go back to Dr Chaves to receive more dental care - the trip expenses can be afforded with the savings derived from a lower cost dental bill.
Dr. Chaves is the one to trust in Jaco, Puntarenas, Costa Rica.

Mr. Chaves put veneers on my two front teeth. After having an accident during a white water rafting trip that damaged my front teeth, I went back to Mr. Chaves to repair them. He not only fixed them for free, he upgraded them to crowns which he said would be stronger etc. Honorable man.. I really appreciate how he handled this.

This is where I have had the best dental care anywhere and with the finest equipment that makes my visit painfree. Over the last few years I travel from USA because of the excellent services Dr Chaves provides plus Rebeca and the staff are the most friendly and accommodating people. All this done at a great deal less expense then in USA.

I had an comfortable experience on my first visit. Consultation was very well and friendly, all my questions where answered. The actual Treatment was comfortable and complete painless -root canal was performed gentle and three crowns. I can highly recommend this clinic .

Today I walked in 2PM and walked out at 3:15 with a new porcelain crown. Couldn’t be more pleased.

CAUTION My experience with Dr Chavez was horrible I went in to get a snap on in one day it broke I went back telling him from the start they last me 3 years. I had not much money. I usually pay 500$ for one he charged 1000$ he was to busy to mess with me so he said he would make me a bridge out if the snap on material he sawed all my teeth to the roots no more enamel and made one and glued it in I was so happy til months later I had a black tooth. I went to him and he said oh they only last 3 months I said why on earth would I let you ruin what few teeth I have left I would of never agreed to that because dentures would be my next option. He argued and made me feel like a idiot. I signed a 1 year warranty he did not honor the warranty now I'm stuck with a ugly black tooth he is not a man of his word he has still done nothing . He's just out for his self so be careful when you go to him I have been back twice to ardue my case and he pyerry well tells me OH WELL he is very good at twisting your words around.I would not go to him please find a different dentist he's not a good man with a good heart. I have cryed my eyes out and no longer smile... I wish I knew how to send a picture of this mess I have to look at. . I am heart broken and no money to fix it and he told me now my teeth will rot out... He's after gringos with money,this gringo has enough to live on period minus 1000$

i had 4 crowns and 2 implants done

-the posts for my molars are THE WRONG SIZE

-in 1 year 2 of my crowns came off.

-another one of my crowns has a cavity under it.

-i have peri implantitis where my posts are (decay around the bone) so they’ll have to be removed and replaced with a bridge.

i have been emailing dr chavez, to no avail. no response.

***ALSO i was quoted one price, and when he sawed down my teeth for the new crowns and was waiting to go to the next step. He literally made me get out of the chair, go to the front desk and pay before proceeding. AND THEY CHARGED ME AN EXTRA $1,000 higher than the original quote

The most horrible, unprofessional and dishonest experience of my life!

I brought my whole family to this clinic as we are in CR frequently and have no insurance in Canada.
First visit was good, the place is clean and new. I had a badly infected tooth and was in horrendous pain as I waited too long to get it fixed, dr gives me some anti inflammatories and sets up appointment for 2 root canals and crowns, says he can save the teeth. My wife needs 2 root canals and 2 crowns according to Dr and more importantly my 14 year old son supposedly has 4 cavities. Have set up appointments for all the work for the next week
Move ahead to the next day and I am in incredible pain, I call Dr's office 4 times that I need help with the pain, Dr's Assistant is rude and never returns the calls, finally I go in and they sit me in a waiting room for another 45 minutes...as I am frustrated and losing my patience the Dr comes I explain I've been waiting all day for a meeting just to get something for pain and he tells me it is not his fault that I am in pain....that I caused my pain...and this is the guy that's going to work on me? Not likely so I leave and make appointments with Premier Medical Clinic for my family.
When Premier looks at me they immediately call a surgeon in from San Jose as the infection was so severe it had almost penetrated my nasal cavity which could of killed me, ultimately I required 2 teeth removed and 2 full bone grafts. The dentist told me there was absolutely no way the teeth could have been saved and that they didn't even need to take x-rays due to the severity (they ultimately did). Dr Chavez does not do bone grafts.
Unbelievably my son supposedly has 4 cavities and upon review by the new dr only has one. I can't believe a dentist would do work on a child that was not required!
My wife also has to have one tooth removed and a bone graft as well. Supposedly he could have saved her teeth as well.
I can't believe this can happen! Not much I can do about other than share it here. Premier Medical Group was amazing and took amazing care of us and only did what was necessary.
