This property is absolutely stunning. We are so happy to have found this gem and speak about it often with our guests. Jana and the team at Casa Turire take service to a whole new level. The rooms are a step back in time, and are setup with perfection. The food is incredible, the drinks amazing, the courtyard gorgeous, the reception organized and the pool and grounds were amazing. Can’t wait to be back.

This hotel is so nice. The place is truly amazing, it was only available for one night when we went, but we felt as if we'd had a week long break just after that. Staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. The ambiance so very classic, it feels like stepping back into time to an era of grand hotels.

Amazing venue!! We felt like we were in a private villa in the middle of nature. The pool is nice, the food is good and the room are cozy. Special mention to our host Rafael. He was kind, gave us a really good service and was attentive to our needs. Nice place if you want to feel like home :)

Elegant, unique hotel with so many lovely features, it’s hard to know where to start! The staff - Monica at the front desk was so warm and friendly, and gave us each a cool towel while we checked in, which was much needed after the drive on route 225 from San José.

Rafael the restaurant bartender and server taught us Spanish for each food item and also how to say Buen Provecho (Bon Apetite) and Listos (we’re done!). And - he knows how to make Sangria and a delicious gin&tonic to perfection.

They have happy hour 2/1. We brought our drinks out onto the veranda and listened to the rain and the birds.

The restaurant is gorgeous, and the food delicious. We had prime rib that was outstanding, and their veg are well prepared. The rice and beans are very good. The traditional Breakfast is also good. I didn’t care for the yogurt - standard strawberry and sweet - I would’ve preferred plain with my granola, but that’s me. The fruit and juices were fresh, as were the eggs.

The rooms are spacious and airy without feeling sterile, each with its own balcony. We sat out on ours with coffees and later with brandy and enjoyed watching the parade of birds and butterflies. The bathroom is lovely in appearance, and very clean. You have to let the water run for about 3 min to get hot water, and there’s low water pressure, but hey - this property isn’t in a metropolitan area - it’s rural by a lake/lagoon so that’s what you can expect.

We loved the pool area, and we also got massages from a woman who did an amazing job! We walked along the lagoon and saw hawks, tanengers and white heron. There is a farm down the road and I warn you - bring earplugs! Although this property is absolutely worth the visit, you might be awakened every hour by a rooster! Starting at 3am!

Hotel Casa Turire is a modern take on an historic, classic style with high ceilings, tiled floors and cozy outdoor spaces. Not to be missed!

Beautiful view from the balcony of our room, delicious food (try their amazing banana bread and their homemade sugar cane ice cream!), very friendly and helpful staff. This property is just what you need for an escape from the loud city.

Beautiful setting in the hills outside Turrialba. It’s definitely showing some wear, but the staff was very nice and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious. Has a quaint vibe you won’t get in a chain hotel that is always having to update things. Juanita was our waitress for dinner and breakfast and she was amazing. Would definitely come here again.

Staying at Casa Turire was like stepping back in time to an era when starlets and politicians snuck away for a weekend of luxury in the country. This inn is small, maybe 15 rooms in all, Spanish Colonial style. Rooms are cozy and quaint - in a good way. Each has a balcony with a cafe table and chairs, that invite you out to sit and admire the surrounding jungle. The food is wonderful. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. One night, as our group sat outside under the covered pavillion enjoying a late dinner, the sky opened up with a lightening and thunder storm all around us. We sat and admired the show - and then the ground started rolling. It was an earthquake in the midst of a storm - like an E ticket ride at Disneyland! Fortunately no one was hurt and nothing was damaged so the hotel celebrated by treating the guests to drinks! A wonderful memory...

Stayed here for a night while on our way to the Caribbean coast.
Rooms are comfortable and cozy.
Decorations are a bit dated but that actually helps to give the rooms that country cozy feel.
The staff is very friendly.
The restaurant's food is ok, not gourmet like it used to be a few years back.
Overall a very chill and relaxing stay, I'd definitely come back :)

High end cuisine in a tranquil and open setting. I like the indoor tables near the windows, but their is outdoor dining by the pool as well. Also, their cheeses are made locally...not just the turrialba farm cheese, but the feta on the salads and more, yum! Almost forgot, the salad greens and other fresh veggies are grown right on site in their little garden which you can go visit.

Loved this place. It is in a beautiful place, between 15 and 20 min away from Turrialba downtown in a taxi, which should cost you 5,000 colones. I did not stay in the hotel though, just went there to have dinner. The food was excellent. I wrote to them beforehand to ask if they could offer something vegetarian and they prepared some delicious stuffed bell peppers. Probably the best restaurant in Turrialba.

Casa Turire and Turrialba were a dream. What an incredible experience at Casa Turire in stunning Turrialba. We immediately felt at home at Casa Turire. I was transfixed by the picturesque sunrises, lush green rolling hills and the tranquility of the property. The staff was so kind and accommodating serving delicious traditional Costa Rican dishes. Gracias, Casa Turire. Pura Vida!
