I dined here this evening. The elegant setting, with soft music playing in the background, created a perfect ambiance for dinner. The outstanding service was impeccable, making the experience truly exceptional. The attention to detail and the delectable cuisine made this restaurant a top choice for a classy night out. As someone who enjoys adventures and the outdoors, I appreciated the opportunity to savor this fine dining experience in the city. Restaurante La Provincia was recommended to us by a friend who’s from Colombia. We originally planned to stop by for dinner but were in the area at the Centro Comercial Santafé (Mall) and decided to go for lunch. It was an easy walk from the mall but was a little confusing to locate the entrance of the restaurant. Nonetheless, we arrived and even without reservations were seated right before the lunch rush with a nice view of outside. Being American and only speaking very little Spanish, I appreciated them having an English menu. Personally, I prefer the menu to be in Spanish and have the English translations as I like to use the opportunity to practice ordering in Spanish.

We started by reviewing the drink menu. It’s been very tough for me to find a drink that I like here. However the server was very accommodating and allowed me to order a shot of vodka with fresh lemonade (lime). It was a refreshing drink to have after walking around the mall for a few hours.

They bought out breadsticks with a pepper sauce which I loved and couldn’t stop eating and fresh baked bread which was hot and delicious with butter. Since it was still early in the day, we opted to order a few appetizers:

Sopa de cangrejo en leche de coco (Crab Soup with Coconut Milk). I’m a big fan of crab in soup but I haven’t had it with coconut milk and it was a perfect compliment to the sweetness of the crab. The fresh vegetables of peas and carrots provided texture and a chunkiness which was welcomed.

Corazon de alcachofa con higaditos de pollo al jerez (Artichoke Hearts with sautéed chicken livers in a red wine reduction). Tho is not a dish I’ve ever heard of but I was hoping this would be an elevated take on a more home style Colombian dish. I tried to research it to understand its origins but wasn’t able to make that connection. I still hope that’s the case though. The soft texture of the artichoke with the tenderness of the chicken livers was a nice contrast. The red wine reduction provided a hint of sweetness that offset the stronger flavor of the livers. When eaten together, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the dish.

Gratin de cangrejo con setas salvajes (Crab Meat au Gratin with Mushrooms). This was my favorite dish as it reminded me of my childhood growing up in New Orleans. It was served in a scallop shell and topped with melted cheese. The creaminess of the crab and mushroom filling with the crunch from the melted cheese was exciting and I loved every bite.

I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back for dinner when I have the time. There were a number of other dishes I want to try.

Really nice fine dining experience. Our waitress was so lovely & knowledgeable, she really went out of her way to make sure everything was up to standard. We had the crab cakes along with the artichoke heart with pesto for starters, and the medallions and duck for entrees. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the steak & artichoke heart. Highly recommend!

I adore this restaurant. Impeccable service, beautiful ambiance, spectacular presentation and most importantly, the most delicious food we’ve had during our week long trip in Medellin. This is the restaurant I have recommended to all of my colleagues and I’ve heard nothing but great feedback.

Top Restaurant ! Excellent Carpacio de polpo on saffron and vinaigrette, great chateaubriand with veggies and mash potatoes, superbe wine Luigi Bosca Malbec and finally a 25 years old rum. Welcome to dreamland! Absolutely reccomended

A must visit restaurant when you are in Medellin. Period. We are planning to go back this week. We love every dish from the artichokes to the fig to the desserts.

I had dinner at La Provincia for the second time in a year and it was absolutely fantastic. As a New Yorker, I appreciated the sophisticated atmosphere, excellent and attentive service (the waiter Estiven was the best) and delicious food. Oh and they make a dirty martini to rival the best spots in NYC.

Live nearby this restaurant and it’s one of the best in the city. Everything from the various filet mignon (love the Mexican) to the Thai curry prawns are exceptional. Even small items like papa francaise are the best I’ve had in town. Amazing service! Like Carmen, this place lives up to its reputation and reviews - many others do not.

Service was amazing. The food was outstanding. The restaurant has a very nice vibe.

Great place for a nice dinner. Open air, second story dining room with modern yet warm ambience. The food is delicious! We started with the octopus which is done carpaccio style with fresh lime wedges, I highly recommend this. My husband had the duck breast which was cooked perfectly and paired with tasty side dishes. I had the sea bass and it was really great. Nice wine list, friendly and efficient service.

La Provincia definitely lived up to its reputation as one of the best restaurants in Medellín! The atmosphere was perfect and service phenomenal (despite my very poor Spanish skills, thankfully they have menus in English and a very friendly and understanding staff!). For appetizer we got the fried calamari and prawns and that was the only thing that was just “okay.” For platos principales, I got the sorrentinos rellenos duxelle de champiñones (mushroom ravioli) and my fiancé got the chateaubriand con salsa de vino tinto. Both dishes were exquisite and to my surprise he actually admitted I ordered the better dish (which never happens, especially when steak is involved). For dessert we had the coconut pie and we were so happy we left room for it because it was perfect in every way.

Bottom line- you absolutely must make a reservation at La Provincia if you are in Medellín!

One of the best places in town, the food is awesome, the service is so perfect, and the people really enjoyed what they did at work. I love the meat and wine,the The parking lot is easy to get out and is located on a top and safe place as well.

Excellent cuisine. This was my first time in Medellin as a "gringo" and this restaurant was as impressive as an American fine restaurant I've been in. Service was a little strained because of the language barrier but there was a real desire to please and they came through.

Great for date night or business dinner. They have both English and Spanish menus available. Everything was so delicious. Also make sure you grab a table on the open air area to listen to some of the night sounds. I would definitely love to dine again.

Another gem of fine dining in Medellin! Ask for the Escargot (it’s not on the menu but if they have it in stock, it’s delicious. A little secret for ya ;) Been here multiple times for business and pleasure, it’s in a great part of town next to the Porsche dealership. I always order one of the steaks.

I came here last night and I found that this is such a nice place, everything was better than expected, customer care, music, food. You will find that ligthing is good to have romantic dinner with your couple.
What I ordered (salad, pad thai, Meat, drinks, desert, see on pictures) cost around 40 dolars.
Definitely, I'd come back in a close future.

Traditional formal dinning in Medellín with a creative menu. I enjoyed very much the Corvina, it was very fresh and the sauce was well executed, it was based on a mix of butter, orange and basil, I recommend it. Not a place for cocktails, I had the whiskey sour, it was ok, but the waitress was not too excited with their list if cocktails. It can be pricy for Medellín standards but while they try to provide a professional service it's far from the best restaurants in Bogotá and way off from standards expected from a high prices restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic. Mushroom ravioli was one of the best dishes I've ever had.

This is my new favorite place for pasta en Medellín. Excellent dining. Classy place. Great service. Decent wine selection.
