El Castillo Museum and Gardens

I was honestly taken aback by the beauty of this castle , the greenery and the views. This spot is definitely worth checking out. The views were absolutely stunning. We did the tour as well which was interesting and had several different art elements which would be very interesting for the art lovers. Whether you want to do the tour or only visit the gardens this spot is worth it. There’s an option to do either just the garden or sod tour and garden. There’s was a small 35 min wait when we got there so definitely wear comfortable shoes, sunblock and bring a hat. Don’t miss this spot 💙

This is a wonderful tour, especially if you have any interest in European antiques. The grounds are impeccably maintained. There's also a spot to bring your own picnic to enjoy.

Very nice and well maintained. The furniture and china and decoration are beautiful. The guide was good in explaining the details and the history. A must visit.

We walked 20 minutes uphill from our hotel near Oviedo mall and it was worth the effort to visit the museum. At the entrance we bought tickets for the 3:30 pm English language tour of the museum for 20,000 COP per person. While waiting for the tour, we walked around the beautiful garden and took photos. There was a wedding that day, so there were lots of flower decorations.

The tour itself lasted 45 minutes or so and it was very interesting to learn the history of the castle. The guide was good. We were glad we visited the museum.

Beautiful gardens that one can walk around and enjoy. The guided tour also helped understand the history as well as the artwork inside the castle. Unfortunately no photo or video inside the castle but you can take pictures towards the outside on balconies or terraces.

Beautiful place! We took a tour with señor Andres who was fluent in English and made our tour through the castle a great bilingual experience! 🏰👏 If you want to visit the whole place including garden and castle museum, you pay 20.000cop/person which is worth it! Bags of any kind are not allowed on the castle museum tour. The garden itself is a beautiful picture spot!

Perfect for picnics! You need a reservation 1-2 days prior. They communicate via WhatsApp. They have a menu– basket and blanket already included. Souvenir shop was OK. We were the only ones having a picnic that day but many people were having a tour of the garden. They also turned off the fountain at noon and they were renovating. When we left, there was already a long queue of tourists waiting outside. We suggest going there in the morning to avoid the crowd and the heat.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The castle itself was very interesting. The tour was great and the staff super friendly even helping to translate certain parts of the tour into English. The refreshments at the cafeteria were reasonably priced and the staff there super friendly. We had a great time and definitely recommend to visitors.

Beautiful calming gardens and a interesting castle. Very informative tour!

I didn't have a whole lot of time, so I just visited the gardens, which are remarkably peaceful, considering their proximity to a busy main road. The gardens are small but pretty, carefully laid out and well looked after. At least during the week, they're a perfect place for a relaxing couple of hours.

It’s really nice place for hanging out out, have a nice picnic, the tour was really entertaining, recommend!

An interesting look into Medellin circa 1930-1970 from the perspective of the local elite of the day and how the family's story demonstrates that wealth doesn't necessarily equate with happiness.

Beautiful views, perfect colors combination, historical place, and a garden in front. The scenery under the sun is particularly special and fantabulous.

Really amazing how and where the inspiration for this Castle as well as the contents within came from. However, how Columbia became custodians of this castle is truly a tragedy. The gardens is an excellent place to have a romantic picnic. Pictures and videos are not allowed within the castle

The property looks and feels out of this world!
We didn’t have the tour, but instead were checking it out ourselves.
It was even better to have the freedom to roam around alone, and really experience it.
Too bad the photos are not allowed inside.
There is a lot to see, everything is saved. The garden is amazing, you can see that the people who work there put in so much effort.
I would recommend everyone to come see this place.

Beautiful tour of the inside for less than a dollar. It is 15.000 to enter and 18.000 with the tour, otherwise it's just the garden. Tour is in Spanish only.

Lovely place. Beautiful gardens. Staff is good. Just a small recommendation to not let kids under 5 years on the tour.
