It's a nice and not very crowded place, ideal for a day trip (just 45 minutes from Riohacha). The water is warm and the beach is mostly clean.

Beautiful Caribbean beach with warm, blue water. Fairly calm. The people are really nice, you'll most likely get waived into the group of pavilions, go for it. You'll get a place to park and have a table ready when you're in for some fish. Nice hiking along the beach if you like that stuff. I went offroading on some dirt roads by the salt flats—awesome! Well worth the trip from Cartagena. Support Wayúu enterprise and come here! Oh yeah, weekdays are much calmer.

Mayapo es grande puedes ir en tour o solo (aprox 15 mil el transporte desde Riohacha), la entrada a la playa es gratis pero puedes caminar por los restaurantes de la zona (precios de 15 hasta 30 mil) la comida de mar es buena
