Enjoyed this small museum very much. Be aware that an actual passport must be presented to pass the security gate and access the elevator. Tickets are purchased on the 23rd floor at the entrance to the museum.
6000 pesos per ticket with a bit extra for a virtual mining experience. We bought virtual experience and liked it. Your ticket includes a guide in English or Spanish.
There is a nice walk through display with explainations of different types of rock/emerald formations. Pictures are allowed here but not in the galllery of gems.
There is a also a jewelry store. Check out the chocolates that look like a large emerald. Presented in a lovely box and real deal at $4 USD each!

Due to is a private institution, some places you can't take pictures. But is a nice experience. COP 6,000 ticket includes a guide. If you can afford it, you can buy real emerald and other stones in the store.

Amazing! That is the word that comes to mind when you are presented with the main showroom. This is a privately owned museum with perhaps the most amazing view for any museum in the world. You are privately led through a presentation about the mining of emeralds in Colombia. Then, you are led into the room with the main exhibit. You are greeted with an amazing collection of jewels. The jewels have to be spectacular to rival the semi-panoramic view of Bogota. You are not allowed to take pictures of the main exihibit but the entire presentation is worth a visit. It is on the 23rd floor of the Avianca Building.

Everyone is very courteous and willing to help on whatever you need. I've been at the boutique a few times and it has been such a great experience.

A lovely little tour about the history of emeralds, where they are mainly located, and how they are retrived. You can take pictures at certain parts of the tour and are told when this is possible. The views from the museum are stunning as it's on the 23rd floor, the staff were also very friendly. I would highly recommend if you are interested in emeralds or just minerals in general!

Beautiful, super helpful staff.
You have to register to the building before going in so security is great.
Entrance ticket includes a guided tour that provides all the backstory to the emerald trade in the country. The guide is very knowledgeable and charming.
Also gives the chance to buy some of the products mined locally.
Great experience and highly recommend

Staff were really helpful and the guide gave me lots of extra info! Can't take pics inside for security reasons but you are allowed pics in specific areas. Definitely worth a visit, very interesting and I promise you won't see so many emeralds anywhere else!

Nice place to learn about where the Colombian emeralds come from and to see some really beautiful raw emeralds. The will guide you (Spanish and English) and explain everything. Entrance is free with the wristband of the free walking tour and otherwise something like 2$. Since it is so close to the gold museum, both places can be visited the same afternoon.

A great museum to learn about Colombia's emeralds (the highest quality in the world). Nice displays and they even show you how it looks in the mine. The tour (compulsory) lasts 30 mins, ending in a large gift shop.
A little complicated to enter - it's on the 23rd floor. Show ID to reception to get a visitors pass for the lifts. I got free entry as I did Beyond Colombia's free walking tour.

I had great time here. I learnt a bit about how different may be an emerald from. You can get someone who may explain you great things and the history behind it. Also, if you go deeply there is a connection with our past.

Very nice and discrete museum thoroughly explaining how emeralds are mined, how their value is estimated and provides some samples of emerald to observe.
