This captivating museum effortlessly weaves together Colombia's rich military history, showcasing the bravery and sacrifices of the nation's armed forces throughout the years.

Upon stepping through the museum's grand entrance, I was immediately immersed in a world of captivating exhibits and historical artifacts. The knowledgeable and friendly staff warmly welcomed me, offering intriguing insights that enriched my understanding of Colombia's military heritage.

The galleries thoughtfully curated an impressive array of military memorabilia, including uniforms, weaponry, and relics from different eras. One standout exhibit was the interactive display depicting Colombia's struggle for independence, effectively transporting visitors back in time to the pivotal moments that shaped the nation's destiny.

The Museum's attention to detail and commitment to preserving its historical treasures are evident in the lifelike dioramas that portray significant battles and events with remarkable accuracy. Each scene evokes a sense of respect and appreciation for the soldiers who fought for the country's freedom and sovereignty.

Beyond its military exhibits, the museum fosters a deeper connection with Colombia's cultural heritage. Engaging displays celebrating the nation's diverse ethnicities and traditions highlight the indispensable role of the armed forces in safeguarding national unity.

The Museum's beautiful outdoor area, adorned with sculptures and gardens, serves as a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city. I found myself lost in contemplation, reflecting on the sacrifices of the brave soldiers, while also relishing the picturesque views of Candelaria's historic architecture.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a patriot, or a casual traveler curious about Colombia's past, this museum is a must-visit destination. The Military Museum of Colombia effortlessly strikes the perfect balance between education and admiration, making it an essential stop on any cultural exploration of Bogotá.

The military museum of Columbia is it pretty impressive site to see and covers decades of evolution of military weaponry, uniforms, technology and strategy.

The museum is free and the staff that's on hand are extremely friendly and offer basic introduction and tours in both Spanish and English.

It's well worth the hour or two it takes to walk through both levels of the museum and observe all the exhibits. There's a courtyard out back with several types of military machinery as well. Definitely check it out!

It was a great afternoon visiting the military Museum. The military staff are very accommodating and make you feel very welcome. Some different things I hadn’t seen before in other military museums. The only downside is there was not much posted in English but we are in Colombia. I was amazed that it’s free to enter and after touring the museum it’s easy to walk around and see many other interesting and cool sites in Bogotá.

Free museum with many pieces of Colombian military history to view. So many guns and rifles couldn't count them. The room dedicated to Escabar's bombing was very informative.

Free museum that gave a good history of the military in Colombia. I was able to pick up a lot of the language but had some difficulty coming from my native English. Pretty cool to see Colombia's involvement domestically and world wide.

It was closed when we walked by, so I was unable to go in. However, we spoke to a very friend GP who described some of the military equipment that could be seen through the fence.

I visited this museum on Thursday 10.03. I had the luck to be accompanied by a person who explained me everything. "Simple relics" became something extremely relevant and instructive and made my visit unique and truly informative. Beside his knowledge, it was clear the deep passion he has for his role and service, which was easily transmitted to me. Thank you Carlos for the unforgettable experience, thanks for the time you allowed me. All the best for the future.

Visited on a whim whilst in Bogotá - and it was so interesting. One of the lovely soldiers that worked there gave us loads of information about all the exhibitions/artefacts which we wouldn't have got just from walking around (although this was in Spanish so just something to bare in mind!).

We spent a wonderful morning in the Military Museum, thanks to the super attentive military staff. Our son discovered the museum as already the courtyard was full of interesting weapons and vehicles. A very nice officer gave us a tour (very good English!), with an insight to Colombia's history. Not only our son but our daughter and we as parents enjoyed it a lot. And the museum is free!
