Archaeological Museum Casa del Marqués de San Jorge

Such a gorgeous museum! Someone gave us a coupon when we were up Monserrate and we were so glad they did. It's cheap with or without the coupon. There are explanations of the displays in English and Spanish. The house itself is a work of art. Loved our time here. Came on a weekday and had the place almost to ourselves. The staff were very friendly.

Free to go in and full things to see. Well set up.

With so many museums cataloging the region's past, it's difficult to prioritize. This one is special, a meta-museumgoing experience. Take time to translate/read the passages on the wall, unattributed but masterfully peeling back layers of time and meaning. Like something out of Calvino.

Very fair price to see some beautiful pieces of history! Though I was lucky and had a Spanish speaker with me, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to understand much

Wonderful example of a colonial house with a fine collection of archaeological artifacts. A must for those who enjoy ancient culture and architecture. They also have a fine souvenir shop

It's not gold but perhaps shines better light into the pre-hispanic cultures of Colombia. Worth every penny.

Me gusto mucho el enfoque curatorial de su colección arqueológica. Divina la casa y el espacio que el día de nuestra visita estaba totalmente vacío. Ojalá mas gente visite este museo que es una joya escondida de Bogotá

Espectacular sitio cada presentación realmente interesante y una historia en verdad para estudiar que linda es nuestra Colombia

Petit musée de collections d'artefacts précolombiens. Le parti pris est moins de présenter les oeuvres exposées comme des sources de connaissances mais comme des œuvres d'art en elles-mêmes. D'où des cartouches peu informatifs et un mélange des époques et des peuples précolombiens. Cela étant dit, le voyage dans le temps y est assuré.
Par ailleurs le bâtiment est des plus agréables avec des vestiges de fresques anciennes.

No conocía de este museo, me lo encontré caminando por la Candelaria y que sorpresa. Es un museo pequeño pero lleno de cultura e información de los primeros pueblos colombianos. Siempre. Vale la pena ir y llenarse de cultura nacional.
