Best place to buy seafood. Here we get to see a lot of different fish species not available in Asia. There are also cafes and restaurants plus a few souvenir shops. Bought some dried fruits, nuts, blueberries and merken chilli powder.

Cool place to go visit walk around and get fresh seafood. Very touristy and the people are a bit aggressive with trying to get you to eat at their restaurants. But I thought it was worth going to check out.

Very fresh and delicious seafood practically everywhere in Santiago, Chile. A place worth visiting is the Central Market. Donde Augusto restaurant has fresh and super delicious Patagonia red crab, fish soup and also a seafood medley that were outstanding! The market offers everything you need from fish, meat, produce and the streets in the vicinity offer electronics, crafts clothing and everything you can think of.

Fresh fish and the best quality of the city for sea food. Waiters will try to get you into a table the second you set a foot on that watery, bloody floor. Not a problem for the experienced traveler nor shopper. They do offer good deals tho, so if you're looking to have lunch, you might want to listen to them.
IMPORTANT: Do not come with sandals or flip flops.

Lively, unique and beautiful architecture. As a tourist please remember this is a bustling market. Don’t expect customer service you’d receive at a mall. Servers and workers operating stands/restaurants will try to sell things to you.

Wow!! What a very busy place. Lots of vendors. A must is to keep a watch on your phone. The advice was phones are a hot item and thief’s will grab and run! Made sure to keep mine secured always! Common sense is keep your eyes and ears open at all times! I was with my husband and he seen a few eyeing my phone! As soon as I’d take a picture back inside my purse which is held securely. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Got a few trinkets to take home as gifts.

Fantastic Chilean experience. You must go if you like seafood but be aware there are very close quarters and a lot of people and you need to keep an eye on your wallet!

The central market is a great place to buy fresh seafood and just around the. Corner, a small farmers market to buy produce. The clams were very fresh. $2500 CLP a kilo. Mussels was $1000CLP a kilo. It is well worth to bring it back the Airbnb apartment to have some great seafood. One can also get a great deal Monday to Friday with fixed menu meals from $4,000 to $6,000CLP.

There are many businesses that are closed permanently like most businesses not only in Santiago but all cities from my experience traveling the world. The pandemic has really closed many businesses for good.

I highly recommend coming to the central market and walk down the side street to see the hundreds of sidewalk merchants selling many odds and ends all made in China.

Had a good outing there. I almost want to buy a little bit of everything back to cook them. But glad we stopped by a restaurant inside the place got two huge dishes included tones for seafood, pisco sour for less than 10K peso.

The local fish market is both a tourist attraction and a local shopping spot for fresh fish. The stalls proudly display the catch of the day and hope the tourists have come to buy, not just take pictures. The stalls and restaurants around the edges are cheaper and more local. In the center, under the dome, are three tourist-friendly (expensive) restaurants, several tourism centers, and a few souvenir stands. Wander through for the pictures, but eat lunch on the edges.

It was great! since we were using Airbnb I got to buy very fresh products to cook at the apartment. For me prices were very reasonable. I went to the market on a gastronomy experience offered through Airbnb (Chef Tatan) it was amazing. He explained in three languages all about the products we saw

A must do in Santiago! Even if you don't like the fish smell (it is a fish market after all!). A part from that it is a great vibrant place with many restaurants serving king crabs, ceviches, fresh fish and seafood of all sorts (there are a few meat dishes as well). You can also find decent art and crafts kiosks. Most places there close early (around 6pm) so it is definitely a great place for lunch! Locals love this place and although touristic, prices are fair.
