Nice spot in the center of town featuring tons of indoor attractions next to the plaza. You'll find everything here from street performers to vendors, to tourist info, to really good smelling flowers. The bus ticket office is also nearby. You're almost certain to visit when visiting Santiago.

Beautiful Spanish style plaza. The area has a bit of an unsafe feeling on the blocks around it, but at the square itself, I noticed a lot of police presence, so it was fine. There's a beautiful Cathedral, free to enter and a tourism office. Didn't notice any public restrooms but I went to the Santander cafe opposite the Cathedral. In downtown Santiago, it was pretty much the only place really worth visiting together with the Art center under La Moneda palace square.

It is a good park with a lots of historical buildings in it. It attracts a lot of local as well as tourists. Locals come to play Chess and Draft as well as skate Boarding and skating etc. I heard there is quite a menace of pick pocketing, phone snatching and opportunist thieving etc. So one has to be extra careful around here which gives bad name to such a beautiful place.

Main square of Santiago, and can get pretty crowded. This square is walkable from the nearest metro station, or take an Uber here. All the tourist places are around this area, and can easily spend a day. I did not find good restaurants here, but Barrios are nearby, so easy to walk or taxi.

It is a land mark from Santiago. There we could see the cathedral and the famous post office. There are so many museums but I could just go to pré-colombiano one. The famous sight And the statue of Pedro de Valdivia are there so it is a must-go place!

Very well maintained central park with lots of benches and shady spots to relax and people watch. It was very busy on a Sunday.
Surrounded on all sides by gorgeous buildings and lots of statues and with a noticeable police presence to keep things safe.
Various food and drink vendors are dotted about should you need a snack, but mostly junk food.

One of the icons from Santiago de Chile. Lots of the history of this country was related to this place.
People here were very kind. The place is very safe to walk around with no major concerns.
It can take you ten minutes up to a full day, depending your interest on the very rich history from Chile.

Beautiful square with Palm Trees, the Cathedral of Santiago, the History of Chile Museum and beautiful buildings. Vendors line parts of the Playa, but it is a chill and lovely SPACE. There was a rock band there at 5 M today.

One of the historic places in Santiago. The park is big and has a lot of possibilities to sit down. You find the tourist information there, as well as the cathedral and some other places. The most relevant parts of the park are in my opinion the maps at the floor which can be easily overlooked next to the statue.

There are just so many historical buildings around this plaza that it's definitely worth a visit if you are in the city of Santiago and you want to experience a little bit of Chilean history. If you come on Sunday, it's rather quiet because all the surrounding shops and businesses are closed. But if you come on any other day it is busy, packed with people and full of activity. Around the square, I do recommend that you visit the cathedral of Santiago, maybe one of the museums and then the nearby restaurants that serve up some awesome hot dogs "completos" for lunch!

Beautiful square and relatively safe to visit. Carabineros (police) are present throughout the perimeter. The architecture and history of Plaza de Armas is a must-see when in Santiago.

Lively square at the center of town with a large cathedral, some interesting statues and a very intriguing mix of old and modern in the surrounding buildings. There are plenty of benches where to sit and chill and listen to live music by street performers. Lots of cafes on the square itself and on the surrounding pedestrian streets. As it gets crowded, just beware of pickpockets.

Well worth a visit... interesting characters all around. There are a few outdoor restaurants that flank two corners.
