Selkirk Ski and Bike

Josh and his team provide a first class service. I had custom ski boots fitted having almost given up on finding a comfortable pair for several years. They did not give up on me until they found the right boot and liner combination for my difficult feet. Thanks guys.
I also demo’d the full range of amazing Stockli ski and then bought some ex-demo Stormriders which are fantastic at a bargain price.

The staff, Jack in particular, really know their stuff and are very happy to spend as much time as needed with you to make sure you’re feeling good. Super friendly and very welcoming.

They also let you change skis as much as you like throughout your rental which is fantastic if the conditions are changing or you just want to try out some different equipment.

Highly recommend popping in for any of your equipment needs.

Selkirk did a great job with our end of season tune up. Our skis were hacked to bits this season and came back looking good as new. Excellent edging and base grind work. Jack was super pleasant to deal with. Top notch.

Fantastic gear and the staff are exceptionally helpful for those who know very little about skiing. Avoid the resort rental shop and come here. Gear is actually taken care of and not in rough shape.

We (my partner and I) have been coming here for a few years now. Selkirk is nothing short of amazing. The mechanics (both bike and ski) are very knowledgable, meticulous, and detailed and this shows in the final product that comes out of the shop doors. The sales staff are always welcoming and really make this a safe space for users of all levels - non pushy, and incredibly helpful. The owners have created and fostered a really great community here, and it shows when you walk in. Positive attitudes and stoked people. Don't let the drive up to the shop be a deterrent, its well worth the very short trek.

Great service! I rented for a week, and changed out both skis and boots after a day or 2. Also, I'd left my insoles in the boot rentals. The staff shipped them back to me, no fuss, no muss.

The best service, ALWAYS! This is my go to shop for anything ski or bike related. They always take care of me with the friendliest service, and make a huge effort to get you back out riding as soon as possible. They also do a great job of communicating any extra costs before going ahead with service that they did not quote you on to begin with. Amazing bootfitting! Brian and Malcom are highly competent bootfitters. They show great attention to detail and take the time to do things right. They were honest enough to recommend that I buy the right boot for my feet elselwhere as they didn't have it in stock. I brought it to them for bootfitting and they gave me a perfect fit, fixing issues I had for years. All the employees I met were very nice.

Great ski service!

I had a problem w the rear bindings on a pair of skis and went in to the store near the gondola at the base. The technician was able to sort out the issue quickly and make the necessary adjustment. When I made my way up to the front of the store to pay for the service, they would not take a payment as it had been a quick adjustment.
The quality of the service received, the explanation that I received as to the nature of the problem both reassured me so that I could head out for a day of skiing and not feel like I was putting myself at risk.
Needless to say I went in later in the week when I had some cash in hand to make a more concrete demonstration of my gratitude.

KH is challenging terrain, you need skis and bindings that work. The service I received and the approach from the staff there merit a 5-star review.

Selkirk saved the day — or rather the ski season.

Buying ski boots can be scary, especially if you’ve had some traumatic ski boot experiences in the past. Josh & Brian made sure they found the perfect boots for my feet, with custom foot beds.

They talked me through the full process of boot fitting, what they were looking for, and what I should be aware of when trying on ski boots. A little adjustment goes a long way, and welcomed me to come back to the shop for any further adjustments in the future.

Managed to let air into my brake line before the first ride. These peeps quickly bleed my brakes and replaced worn pads while I was getting my gondola pass. Super fast, friendly and professional ( and not expensive considering location). Also as of 2021 COVID shortages period this store is very well stocked with all sort of items you might and might not need :) A+

Phenomenal store, the most friendly staff anywhere. They serviced my Santa Cruz MTB brakes, left it overnight, picked it up at 10 am, brakes are perfectly tuned! Rent, buy, service, this is THE place! They deserve YOUR business, and YOU deserve them!

The store was neat and tidy, when we arrived the staff kindly greeted us and we were able to buy we were looking for. From what we noticed the inventory was strategically ordered to suit the alpine riding that kicking horse has to offer. Knowledgeable staff, quality inventory. What else could you ask for?

Love this shop and it's awesome staff. Ski at this mountain as a favourite driving up from Calgary for the day. My son had unbearable foot cramping in his new ski boots ( bought in Calgary ) on his first day out, thinking the boot was properly fitted by a high end ski shop in Calgary. Well, I dragged him in after our first run and your boot specialist ( sorry forget his name ) had the boot adjusted 100% to his comfort after 2 runs of adjustments. This made our day and we are very thankful. Thanks guys! See you on our next trip to rent some skiis!
Update...I called the day before arriving and asked over the phone if it was necessary to reserve 2 sets of Salomon skiis to rent for my son and myself. I was assured that they would have plenty of Salomon skiis available. Well, when we arrived at the mountain and went into the shop early morning to rent our skiis, the selection was minimal and were not able to rent skiis for the day. Our desired brand Salomon was not available in the sizes or model. Sorry guys, but you messed up on that one! Just wanted you to know about that. Will still come to your shop though!

We are two qualified ski instructors that came to Kicking Horse in March 2017. We have both been having problems with ski boots, despite numerous fittings in the UK and Italy. The guys in Selkirk were simply the best we have ever met. One of us got customised inner boots and the other had the outer shell of the boots modified. Neither change was exactly unusual, but the sudden increase in comfort certainly was. If we had gone to Selkirk five years ago, we would have saved a lot of money on futile work in Europe.

Gillian is a true one of a kind human. She put pants on hold for me for a while. The power went out in Golden the day my friend was going to pick them up for me. Gillian went out of her way during a wild power outtage to reach out to a friend of hers that was coming to revy. Her friend dropped my pants off at home. The kindness, understanding, passion and huge heart makes this shop a true one of a kind. I highly recommend this LOCAL business to anyone
