FreshCo Okotoks

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. The prices are comparable to No Frills and Walmart, sometimes better. This morning I picked up tomatoes for $0.99/lb - what a steal! I find the selection and quality is significantly better than No Frills and Walmart. I'll be shopping here for now on.

This store is a well laid out and super budget friendly store. I'm not sure where the other reviewers went but it was not here or maybe they just don't know their grocery pricing. The pricing here is easy on the wallet, especially with the flyers. You can get a 200g bag of compliments chips for $1.50. Other places are $3-4 for the exact same thing. Their regular prices on items are the sale prices at other grocery store. I highly recommend this store and anyone who says the pricing is high is either a troll or a competitor.

I was very pleased with my first visit to the new Okotoks store. Staff were super friendly, product selection was impressive and everything was super fresh! I loved seeing so many products from Ukraine, so I stocked up on those! Will be coming back for sure!! For those comparing FreshCo with Walmart… I’d rather support a local, Canadian store any day!!

Wow, what a clean store and so well-designed and organized.
Many things are so easy to find and the staff is super friendly. Every person I've met is very willing to help and answer any questions. Or refer you to somebody who can answer questions. I can see how this would be and enjoyable place to work

Nice new store that is a central location,with bright clean and spacious displays. All your grocery needs,and weekly sales for meats,vegetables and bakery items.

Managed to get some fresh flowers there. They don't have a bakery but have baked goods for sale.

I dont think the Staff are fully trained yet. Attempted to purchase an in store clearout special and had a coupon. I was told I could only get either the clear out price or use a coupon.. for close date in store specials. Didn't have time to argue the point left everything and went to no frills and actually got almost all my items at cheaper cost anyway. Might go back when the staff have had time to learn. Clean new store though, just don't take the coupons in.

I was extremely disappointed by the grand opening and the store in general. There was no staff greeting customers... at all... just a gal making certain you had a Scene+ points card. The store is bright but feels surprisingly dark (kinda like a hospital with no windows) and herds you in and out one small doorway. With the prices fresh in my mind, I grudgingly went to Walmart to find many of the items I was looking for for 50 cents or a dollar less. Sobeys should have sold this location to Co-Op, as they own FreshCo, and Safeway too. Would have been nice to have another grocer in town.

Meh, whoever thought this was a good idea probably needs to be fired. It has nothing going for it.

Although Fresh Co in Okotoks promotes itself as a 'cheaper' grocery option, I've found that their prices are still relatively high compared to other stores in the area. Despite being a new addition, the grocery prices here haven't reflected the promised affordability. While the store offers a decent selection and is convenient, the high prices make it challenging to fully embrace as a budget-friendly option. Hopefully, they'll adjust their pricing strategy to truly live up to their 'cheaper' label in the future.

I will not be shopping here again. I was checking out my groceries and had my six month old son with me. I was doing my best to soothe him as he was fussing, the clerk was ringing through my $200 worth of groceries. I gave him my bags ahead of time so he could bag them. I paid, and was trying to put them away while juggling my baby, he and two other associates were standing there chatting watching while I bagged my groceries by myself. I finally asked for some help as i obviously needed and got attitude back. Every other grocery store bags your groceries and they are kind and courteous. What are we paying these people for?

Fresh Co in Okotoks boasts of being a cost-effective grocery option, yet my recent visits have left me questioning this claim. Despite its newer status, the prices here remain stubbornly high, not reflecting the promised affordability. Until the pricing aligns more closely with expectations, it's challenging to fully endorse Fresh Co as a budget-friendly option in Okotoks.

This is the weirdest grocery store I’ve ever been to. Let’s start with the name. The meat is anything but fresh, with discount stickers all over the strange brands of meat you don’t find at other grocery stores. It feels like a liquidation world for meat. Don’t know about you, but that’s not the vibe I like in my meat department.

Carrying on, right next to the discounted Polish or Ukrainian candy you will find fancy high-grade salmon roe discounted 30% off.

I wish I had time to retell some of the other oddities I encountered at this store. I won’t be returning. And I recommend you don’t either, except to kill time and wonder how a new store opened in 2024 could miss the mark so poorly.
