City Avenue Market

This place is great for groceries. You can’t always get everything but overall it’s a pretty amazing little store. Produce is fantastic at a reasonable price.

My preferred local market. Impressive selection of organic products at reasonable prices. They offer a diverse range of global ingredients, including some from Asia that are hard to find in other grocery stores. The regular product rotations add a fun and explorative element to shopping. The staff is welcoming and supportive. Grateful to have this market nearby.

A well stocked market with TONS of vegan and specialty selections, including a full line of our PlantBase Foods! The store is great for walking in or driving,is accessible, and the staff is very friendly. We love dealing with these folks as vendors and I love coming here as a customer. We were here on a busy Saturday and Sunday and the lineups were always very light, even though they were busy as heck!

Good bulk section, awesome produce, and all sorts deals. Vega One and Performance sport was on for less than $40 for the large ones as an example of great deals available here. :)

I shop here regularly. They got a lot of good vegan, organic, natural selections, and also some speciality foods that's hard to find. City Avenue Market is basically like a mini Whole Foods, but much cheaper even when not on sale. They also have a deli in the store. In terms of produce, besides from the usual imported produce you commonly see at other grocery stores, they carry a lot of local BC produce, which you don't find in other grocery stores. Support local! And their rewards program is pretty good, if you keep earning your points to the top rewards tier, it's pretty much 3% back (spend and earn $3000 worth of points and get $100 off).

Even though this market is located in a tourist attraction, the prices here are quite decent. The overall quality of foods is also fresh. Surprisingly, you can also find a wide range of multicultural seasonings here.

Cool market, not only for organic but lot’s groceries with a good and worth. Local market, clean, organized and with friendly services. Some prices are the same or lower than Walmart and superstore. front of the pier.

I absolutely love shopping at the store. They have extremely affordable prices for good quality produce, and quality products. I don’t mind paying a little bit extra as it’s only benefitting my health.

A terrific local grocery, with many items unavailable in supermarkets. A real neighborhood treasure, we are so happy that the workers bought out the store when Donalds abandoned it. It would have been a great loss to New West.

I’ve been shopping here for 8 years. If you’re into high-end artisanal, craft and local products but have a wal-mart budget this is the place for you lol. I spend about 80$ Weekly at the former donalds market (and cook like the photos pictured below). The staff are so friendly, the guy at the deli is the best and will try to get products in if you ask. I really like everything about the store, the staff have known me for so long they joke about how many points I have and when I’ll be able to hit 3000 (which I’ve done probably 10 times since shopping here lol). All in all the best.

Great neighbourhood grocery store. Stopped by for a few snacks and was delighted by the sale prices! Some deals I scoreds Firm tofu 2/$2, kinnitoos gluten free cookies 2/$4. Wish I had one of these in my neighbourhood, so much nicer than shopping at a big box store. Only downside is the location of the line up for the cashiers. Since you have to line up down the isle there’s a lot of products I missed looking at due to the numerous people in the store. Guess I’ll have to stop by on an off time to explore more. Really good selection of products and produce.

Whoever was working the deli counter today at 4:55pm needs A RAISE!!!! In the half decade I've been ordering salami and requesting "as thinly sliced as possible" nobody has actually tried to get them as thin as possible other than them. Exceptional service as well. Cannot thank them enough.

In general always pretty fresh produce, i always buy specialty foreign snacks and incense sticks from here. 10/10 shopping place compared to everything else these days.

Great selection for imported food products you won't find in your regular grocery. Always well stocked with good quality fruits and vegetables. One stop shopping for me.

We love this little supermarket. Their selection, despite their small size is impressive. For people with dietary restrictions, they have all kinds options for dairy and gluten free as well as vegan. The prices are also excellent for most items, especially produce and fresh goods.

Very nice specialty grocery store with some cool products. You’ll find things here that you won’t find anywhere else. Prices can often be cheaper than bigger grocery chains (Save-on/Safeway). A bit crowded/limited space but otherwise amazing!

Used to be called Donald's. Now called City Avenue. Small, compact grocery store with a wide variety of goods and sometimes great deals on produce. Because we like to support small business we try to shop here weekly. Best prices for non medicated free run chicken and Avalon dairy. They have organic items.

If you add a walk along the river (in the summer the flowers are beautiful!) or a visit to one the Quay's restaurants or the coffee shop... it makes for a nice day.

Free 2 hr parking on Quayside Drive is only a 5-10 minute walk from here. Bring a wheeled cart if you are buying more than a light bag of groceries.

This store is the only one in Greater Vancouver that carries all my health, beauty and cleaning products. The products I purchased regularly are all natural, biodegradable, vegan, no animal cruelty, but with great prices!! They have great selection of produce, like Asian Pears I can’t find in regular grocery stores. The only thing I won’t buy is meat/seafood. It’s quite expensive in my opinion, and there not many choices.

I’m blown away by the excellent customer service and wide range of delicious vegan products!! I was very excited to find my favourite vegan feta (plant ahead) here, and when I noticed my favourite vegan whipping cream was missing from their selection, I sent in a request for them to stock it and it was there within a few weeks. Unreal! You don’t get that kind of quality service from a big chain, that’s for sure.
