A & J Convenience

Walk into A&J Convenience and you'll enjoy the warm flow of energy that comes from the store and especially from the people who work here. This delightful store has everything you need and has been a godsend especially during the pandemic. They are a contribution to Mississauga and to our whole neighborhood.

My son and I both go into the store. The lady is always friendly and very nice. She has a good selection of items. She seems to be very hard working and always very busy.

Great place to get lottery tickets, few big winners in the past few weeks

BLACK CUSTOMERS BEWARE

Walked into this store to check my lottery tickets, there was a lady in front of me doing the same. Waited patiently for her to finish and in the interim went to the back of the store to use the self check OLG machine. It was working intermittently. Went back to the desk to wait my turn for someone to help me. The lady refuses to check my tickets saying you check at the back. I told her the machine wasn't working. She grabbed my tickets and went to the back of the store saying you come I'll show you. So again I tried while she went back to serve other customers who were also checking their lottery tickets. Again I went back to the front as it wasn't working and waited for my turn and asked her to check at the front. (Another lady had just finished getting her lottery tickets checked) She said I'm very busy with customers at this point there were now no other customers. I handed her my tickets to check, she muttered under her breath and checked my first ticket, At this point I didn't trust her so I asked for my tickets back. She refused to hand them to me. Slapped them on the desk along with the winnings from my first ticket muttering the whole time. So I guess black ladies checking their lottery tickets don't count as customers worthy of her time or machine at the front only white ladies checking their tickets.
This has been the first time in over 4 decades I have been treated with such differntial treatement and blatant racism.
Not ok.
