The Fish & Chip Place

Whitefish is sweet and tasty, I bring my parents here for vacation. We enjoy it! The service is nice and friendly.

Decent location, decent food. Server seemed friendly, the fish (we had the Georgian bay white fish) had some flavor and wasn’t overfried. The fries were thick cut. This was one of the places my mom enjoyed while we stayed here for two days - she felt some of the other restaurants had dishes that were too salty.

Amazing food! Amazing service! The best fish and chips I have had! I get the Georgian Bay Whitefish and Chips everytime, and it never disappoints!

Fresh tasting fish and shrimp man oh man finger licking good! The service is amazing such kind spoken employees working. Probably one of the spot lighted restaurants that you can find near the boat tour, less hassle to search for food, it's easy to find in the local area and enjoyable food, also you can have your nice cold beer on the patio as well where you can eat!

Came here with my sister when we were in town. The service was good the waiter was attentive & quick. The food was very fresh I recommend the fish & chips! They have a spacious patio out front. The vibes are nice, and this place stays open later than other restaurants.

One of the best fish & Chips restaurant in Tobermory. Visited again cause of the nice food and atmosphere. The amount of the food was perfect for me. The staff are so kind and working hard with smiles on their faces. Was a wonderful experience. Especially Andrew was so nice and lovely. Hope I can see him next summer again.

Heard about it, finally got to taste the fish. Very, very delicious, the Georgian white fish. Service was quick. Really enjoyed the port and the boats as savoring the food

During our trip to Tobermory, the power went out at 3:30pm and most restaurants had to close for the afternoon and evening... The Fish & Chip Place was seemingly the only restaurant with a backup generator within a reasonable walking distance. Despite the long line ups and busyness of the long weekend, we were greeted with a friendly and cheerful staff who clearly went beyond their daily duties to feed and give their customers a good time. I honestly have to applaud this place for it's ability to stay afloat during such a food crisis on one of the busiest summer weekends.

Food was very good as we enjoyed the fish and chips, fish taco, calamari, clam chowder and coleslaw.
As for the beers, our glasses were very clean and the honey sleeman was smooth and refreshing.

Cheers to the friendly ladies who took care of the front lines and cleared the tables, to the wait staff who ran from table to table to meet all orders, and the kitchen staff who continuously made delicious food for an endless line of takeout and dine in tables!

I ordered fish tortilla, it was not enough for me so I ordered chicken fingers, too. Overall, Fish was flaky, nicely done. Service was excellent.

Best fish in the area. Trout right from the bay. Services extremely quick. Prices are amazing for tourist area. Recommend this place more than shipwreck fish and chips down the street. The atmosphere at shipwreck fishing chairs all you can eat is amazing but the food and quality is not as good as this place. If you're looking for a good eat that's cheap and well worth the price come here.

**Update July 2022**

This place continues to deliver great quality fish and chips! Brought more family here and they all loved the dishes we ordered (fish & chips, calamari, popcorn shrimp etc). I also find it comical to read some of the recent reviews complaining about the size of the fish and quality. They are whitefish caught around Manitoulin Island and then brought over on the Chi-Cheemaun. If you want some big fillets that you can buy at your local grocer that are imported and cheaper, by all means this place isn't for you then.

What sold us on coming here for dinner was the Georgian Bay Whitefish! We wanted to eat locally caught fish, not something brought from outside town. We definitely were disappointed and will be sure to revisit when in town again. The view overlooking the harbour is also very nice to take in!

Nice patio to grab a bite after a long day. Pet friendly patio and the server was very gentle with us and our dog. The fish and chips and the soup were very good too.

We took family meal which was 12 piece fish, 1 large fries and 1 calamari for 7 person, fish was tasty and fresh. Large fries was not sufficient. I would order family fries. Location was really nice. Service was really good. We paid $91 for the food only.

My dad and I go out to different parts of Ontario every few months to try something different, this time we went out to tobermory, and stopped in at the fish place.....my god food was amazing, the famous white cod was just enough food for one person with fries and I had a beer the price a little steep but for 22$ nice and full, plus right on the bay you can see all the boats and the water what a view

I am fish taco lover. Exceed my expectation. Service was great, weather to sit outside perfect, you have view to harbour.

It's been a long time since I went to this place for a fish and chips. Always very delicious. It is not overly battered and the great lake fish makes it tasty.

Situation right in the heart of Tobermory- what a scenic location overlooking the port.
As for the food - lovely and fresh and served fast too.
They have family options too and the menu is flexible- for example they have shrimp and French fries.We took only the shrimp and excluded the fries as we had ordered it separately.
Was the shrimps any good - oh yes they were big size, crispy, fresh and delicious.
The staff were super friendly and found us a table real quick.They have a large seating area and space is not z constraint.
There is paid parking outside in case anyone is wondering.
Process are reasonable too keeping in mind the portions, location ( tobermory is a hotspot ) and food served.We took mainly seafood and the bill was reasonable I thought.

Honestly I would eat here every day if I was in the neighbourhood and could afford it. Whitefish is absolutely wonderful and done in a very light batter. Fries are good although I generally like mine a little less well done. On a nice day it is great to overlook Little Tub Harbour with all the comings and goings. Can get crazy for the servers but they are always pleasant and doing their best.

These fish n chips are the best in town. The chicken tenders were really good too, great for kids and adults alike. The patio is dog friendly, located right next to the water.

We were immediately advised by the staff that we would have a little bit of a wait as they had a large group inside the restaurant and we would be seated as soon as they had a table. The staff was amazing and the white fish was yummy
