The Curious Cat Tea and Books

Always enjoy a stop in here, where the owner greets everyone. I don't stop in often enough, but they offer some truly unique and curated selections. My son picked out Where the Wild Things Are, a classic, as well as a much lesser known alphabet book.

This is one of my family's absolute favourite places. There is something for everyone - lots of great books. It has such a welcoming vibe and the friendliest, most helpful owners. Wonderful spot!

Thoughtful owners with a diverse range of books to be discovered. I always want to spend all my money there, which is kinda ironic since (one of the owner) used to work at a bank. haha. When I'm not there, i'm actually broke or going through some midlife crisis. Anyways, not about me, but this place rocks - literally (because they sell D&D dices that kind of look like rocks?). I like the way they organized the book store itself, and the used books section in the far back always got a wide variety of selection. More importantly, and going back to the characteristic of the owners, (they- i.e the owner(s)) stands in a non-judgemental stance at all time. They don't judge anyone based on any sort of religious diversity(ies), mental illnesses, sexuality, drama or traumas, etc. I'm not even proof reading this review and I know I won't be judged from them at all. Which feels nice. Anyways, awesome book store. Will be back when I have some green stuff to spend in form of a card. However, they have good prices on their materials - i'm just literally very broke. haha. <3

An excellent selection of books, including a used book section. There are always lots of adorable handmade crafts and goodies. A great place to shop for gifts for anyone. I've tried 5 of the large selection of craft tea blends, and they are all really delicious. You can also support this bookstore when you order your audiobooks online through Libro.fm 😊

Absolutely loved visiting here. The guy working was incredibly friendly and sweet with my very outgoing daughter. I honestly spent more than I intended because of the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It's exactly what I want from a local business. There's pride stuff, locally made stuff, new books, used books, and a ton of cats (in plush, ceramic, sticker, and probably more forms)... what's not to love? We don't live in town but we'll be back for sure.

I was very surprised at the incredible variety of local interest, French, poetry, loose teas, and LGBTQ+ content that fit in what looks to be from the outside a small store. I was glad to see a large selection of local chocolatier Peace By Chocolate, as well as really cool and cute non-book things like the narwhal mugs and chicken purses.

The owner Donovan seemed to know instantly what each varying customer needed from him while I was there, whether it be to jokingly pretend he hadn't seen a daily regular ever before or to reassure a jetlagged complete stranger that it's okay to feel unsure of who you are. I felt very comfortable there shopping for so long for my incredibly varied haul of goods. I highly recommend this shop!

Great selections. I was surprised by the amount of French children books! Worth a visit

Very nice Bookstore and place to have a special cup of tea while reading the spines of the books on the shelves and tickle your curiosity to delve into some other tales. The owner is very knowledgeable and goes out of the way to find the books you are looking for

This is a delightful independent bookstore with a great selection of books and gifts. The owners, Robin and Donovan, are cheerful, interesting and helpful; they'll help you find whatever you want and they'll order books for you happily. It's a great place to browse, have a cup of tea and buy yourself a gift. If you're in Antigonish don't miss it.

I love this bookstore. It's not huge but it's fantastic. Donovan & partner have done an outstanding job of selecting great titles, new and some used, as well as extras like locally-blended teas and amazing chocolate. It is a peaceful and inclusive space for all to enjoy. If you're stopping in Antigonish, support this bookstore! If you're local, consider ordering through them rather than online if you can;).

An incredible little shop with so much variety. They are incredibly accommodating and friendly but also willing to go out of their way to order in the books you want. Their selection of non-book items are also of great quality and the shop overall has a an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. A must visit when coming through Antigonish!

Excellent selection in good quality tea! Also very good selection in books. My son was able to find a book he had been looking for in several places that were on back order. He was thrilled :) rest of the kids easily found something unique to their tastes. Co-owner was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable :)

A wonderful local store! My wife and I were visiting Antigonish for the first time on our Honeymoon and people we met throughout town kept recommending that we check it out. It was fantastic! The store's interior is well laid out, nicely merchandised and all around charming. On top of books they also have a great selection of teas, stickers, and mementos all based on various fandoms (and all made by Canadian businesses). The co-owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. He was on a first name basis with his customers was joyful in helping them find what they were looking for. He chatted with my wife and I, served us some of their wonderful tea selection, and happily recommended other places in the area for us to check out. If you're in Antigonish or visiting and enjoy anything nerdy (Especially Dungeons and Dragons) I highly recommend that you stop by!

Awesome proprietor, very knowledgeable. Great selection and prices on new and preloved books. A good variety of teas are available and whimsical tea sets and mugs.

I was in Antigonish for the very first time over the weekend for a wedding and had no idea that almost every place closes down on Sunday! Thankfully, this place was open and the owner had my back for coffee which I was looking for.

The interior is super super clean and nice. I'm not much of a tea guy but even I couldn't resist grabbing a couple bags of cool-sounding teas!

Wonderful collection of books new and old, from local authors to international best sellers. Great curators work here can give advice about all sorts of books and and many gift ideas for the people in our lives who love books and beautiful things.
