Brownstone Restaurant

Stopped here for lunch while en route to Halifax, and boy am I glad I did. Not only was my lobster sandwich and tomato basil soup delicious, but I also really liked the atmosphere, as the decor was very tasteful. They also have a pretty great patio.

Amazing! We had a large group and we were pressed for time on our way to Sydney so they allowed us to call in our order for sit down dining. It was perfect timing and all the orders were exact! Great service, incredibly friendly staff and DELICIOUS food!

The fried goat cheese was so good! The pad Thai medium spice was quite spicy (which I like), but for those who can't tolerate too much spice, maybe ask for mild :)

This local restaurant is in my opinion one of the best restaurants in Nova Scotia. They have a great selection of food, reasonable prices and super courteous staff. All of our selections were delicious but the dessert that we ordered merited additional mention. It was the caramel cake with vanilla ice cream. It was SO good!! We highly recommend Brownstone and will definitely be back!

Friendly staff and we were swiftly seated. Probably the most interesting looking restaurants I’ve ever been in but it’s beautiful. Food was excellent and came relatively quick. Good portions and amazing taste

Great resto in Antagonish! A great stop if you’re looking to break up the drive to and from Cape Breton. They have a very extensive menu from burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pasta to all the local seafood favourites. The portions are good, but the quality was great. Simple but hit the spot. The chowder was tasty with a good amount of fish inside. The service was quick and friendly.

Unexpectedly delicious. Had the braised haddock and it was incredible. Also the lobster and spinach dip is a must. A selection of local craft beers. Great place. Definitely recommended.

We were greeted quickly and seated just as fast. Both the host and waitress were friendly and welcoming as was the atmosphere. Very cute and relaxing inside. Ordered the Nova Scotia Burger and the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Both were absolutely mouthwatering and delicious. Best meal I have had in quite some time. French fries were perfectly crispy. Exceeded expectations. The service was excellent, but it was the food that made it memorable. Ordered the Scotia Burger as I read a very positive review on it. It was perfect. A hint of maple and quality ingredients. Meat, bun and cheese were a perfect combination of taste and texture. Would definitely order it again. Also had the coconut cream pie and it was outstanding. Our server took the time to explain all the local beers on tap and gave us a try as well. We will be back soon.

I am always impressed by the menu here! They keep it fresh, diverse and delicious. We arrived early and got a spot on the patio. Our server was absolutely delightful, the food was amazing and we even had to indulge in dessert since no one wanted to leave. Everyone had fish and chips and were impressed- which isnt easy to do with locals! I had the pad thai and found the medium heat a true medium, the taste great and the price very reasonable. Super restaurant! Check out the coconut cream pie!

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Brownstone. We started with the lobster and spinach dip, which was delicious; a must eat. Next I got a chocolate milkshake. It was delicious, lots of ice cream. It wasn't big, like a DQ serve, but it was far superior. For the main I got the braised haddock. Fresh and delicious. It also came with a generous serve of fresh, well cooked vegetables. Service was friendly and helpful.

We drove there from Halifax, just to have lunch. Great food, service and atmosphere.
I had the Scotia burger with fries as my main, and a chocolate pie for desert.
My wife had the veggie burger with sweet potatoes; and my son the pizza from the kids menu and ice-cream for desert.

I really had an awesome experience visiting this restaurant. The Fish and Chips that I ordered was very crispy and juicy. The staffs were very nice and friendly throughout.

The interior design of the restaurant looks very awesome. Will visit in again when I am at Antigonish next time.

Who knew?! This incredible little town is home to this awesome restaurant! We spent two nights there and were so lucky we stumbled into this gem! The gorgeous patio caught our attention, the AC was working its magic inside and then the menu made it even better!

The menu offers many gluten free and dairy free options, which is absolutely amazing for someone with allergies like myself! The prices were very reasonable and the quantity and quality of the food was great!

The service was excellent from start to finish and despite our larger group with many special orders, the food came up very quickly and piping hot!

I have to say it’s worth the 3 hour drive to visit again! We will be back!

Great food and local brews. Ordered the beef dip and it was one of the best by far. The beef was so tender and soft while the bun was nice and crispy. Will definitely come back again!

Food was good and so was the service. Was seated on the patio and it was lively yet intimate. Loved it.

We stopped in for dinner on our way to Halifax and very pleasently surprised. The resteraunt was very nicely decorated. It had a very urban feel for a smaller town like Antigonish.

The staff where great; helpful and attentive, but they didn't crowd us. They had a decent selection of gluten free options.

I had the Blue Cheese Burger with the Smoked Seafood Chowder as a side and my wife had the Pulled Pork Poutine. It was all delicious and the Brownstone will definitely be on our list of places to return to!

I've been here a couple times and am usually quite happy with the food. The service has always been great and their menu has an excellant variety. I feel like everyone can normally find something they like on a menu, but rarely do I feel that I could eat anything on the menu! I brought my friend there recently and she loves the place!

Absolutely outstanding. I went with my parents whilst going through town and we got three completely different dishes - Pad Thai, Chicken Souvlaki, and Fish and Chips, with a hummus appetizer. Each meal was the definition of perfection. Our server, Mel, did an incredible job. She was funny and kind and honest. Highly recommend this spot.

Local and friendly. Great location. Excellent atmosphere. Expert food!
