Came here for a girl's weekend and we had a wonderful time. We booked the nightingale tent, which has the most beautiful view of the water and sunset.
The staff is very knowledgeable of the area and told us lots of great things to do and places to go, very friendly and helpful as well! Cooking was easy with the amenities they provide and the bed was very comfortable and clean! We appreciate all the eco friendly updates they have as well.
The small town of bloomfield is a lovely place about 25min drive away for lunch and shopping, there are also many wineries to visit in the area!

We took a family week vacation to the county and this was our first introduction. We are so glad for that, it was such a lovely experience. Jans met us when we first pulled in and from the very first wave we knew we were in good hands. He was incredibly friendly, informative and helpful. The tent itself was so wonderfully comfortable and spacious, the kitchen was perfectly supplied and easy to use. The shower was hot and as clean as Mother Nature allows. My baby even showered outside with great enthusiasm. The composting toilet was clean and didn’t smell. I guess what I’m saying is, the whole experience was exactly what we were hoping for, and MORE! Jans’ recommendations were spot on, and the area around the farm is stunning for walks/ hikes. We strolled the flower garden and had such a stimulating, colorful hour chasing our 18 month old as he ran around blissfully! We can’t wait to return, we hope to make it a regular trip if possible.

My husband and I just came back from celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary at Fronterra Farm … and it was absolutely perfect and spectacular! Wow!

We were greeted warmly by owner, Jens, who lead us to our gorgeous tent and provided us with many wonderful suggestions and recommendations for fun activities/eateries/wineries to visit in Prince Edward County. As a result, we experienced an amazing wine tasting experience & stone oven pizza dinner at Norman Hardie winery, as well as, a romantic, breathtaking walk along the beach at North Beach.

Our accommodation was Tent #10 called Sanctuary … which was a secluded spot overlooking the marsh and with a beautiful direct view of North Beach ahead. We had a gorgeous view of the tranquil lake and adjoining sandbanks of North Beach which provided a picturesque landscape as we enjoyed our morning coffee. In the evening it provided the perfect sunset landscape as we enjoyed our dinner. I will miss the natural beauty we observed during our stay.

Our tent was very, very roomy with the most comfy of beds and buttery soft linens. Beautiful decor with cozy seating arrangements. We enjoyed the cooler temperatures with no bug issues. At night, even as the temperatures dropped, we remained warm and toasty as we slept wearing our long pajamas and socks at night.

We absolutely loved cooking and dining outdoors. The kitchen area was well equipped with all the cooking essentials (i.e., dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, coffee perculator, skillet, pot, tea towel, etc.). We appeciated that tea light candles & lantern, bbq lighter, and LED lanterns were provided to give us romantic ambient lighting at night. Also, we enjoyed the hot outdoor shower and the beautiful scented body wash that was included. It was marvellous to shower outdoors with complete privacy and be able to see the sky above.

Each tent also comes with its own private bon fire area. It was so relaxing after dinner to light our firewood and enjoy a hot tea as we listened to the crackling of the fire and were mesmerized by the flickering fire while surrounded by nature.

We observed so many blue jays during our stay … it was so exciting! We had never seen so many beautiful blue jays soaring over head as we walked the camp grounds.

My husband surprised me with the flower experience where I got to cut my own flowers from the many flower boxes on the grounds … with sooo many varieties of flowers and greenery. I made 2 beautiful flower arrangements and it was so affordable - only $35 for the flower experience and $5 for each glass mason jar to put my flowers in. We used my handmade flower arrangements on the table as we ate our anniversary dinner that night as the sun was setting … it was so romantic and super pretty.

You can even buy your own eggs on-site from the egg stand for only 50 cents an egg. Fresh laid eggs right from the chickens on-site. What a nice touch!

This place is so magical and our stay was perfect from start to finish.

The owner, Jens, and his staff are incredibly wonderful, friendly, accommodating and so responsive to whatever we needed … such as requesting the charcoal grill and firewood.

Our experience here com exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t be more happier. We created so many happy memories here and would absolutely come back without hesitation. There is a reason that this place books up fast. Such a hidden treasure. We can’t wait to come back again. Thank you Fronterra Farm for making our stay an unforgettable one. One of our best weekend getaways ever!

Fronterra Farm is run by wonderful friendly people with a very unique experience in nature. My wife and I stayed for the first time in the end of September and were the only people there. A quiet peaceful time in nature with cooler temperatures and no bugs is what I wanted and got. We stayed in a water front tent but could walk around and check other camps to see what we might choose on another visit since it was empty. Each camp had its own unique rustic charm with beautifully designed features. I wanted open air views of sunsets by the water but others had fire pits in the camp or larger eating areas. Some had gorgeous showers in old stone walls. Each one had its positives and negatives, like shelter from wind but no open air views across the water. We loved our choice but would try another one next time for a different experience. We had cool temperatures but the warm open shower was excellent and an enjoyable experience even for my wife. Also sleeping in long underwear was more than warm enough in the king size bed. First night we had an almost hurricane type severe storm with high winds and hard rain and the tent shook but took it with ease and no leaks. The design of these tents is amazing. Ours would rise and fall with changing water levels. I am a light sleeper and second night it was so quiet but I woke first to coyotes howling in the distance and then later raccoons raiding our camp. The raccoons had opened both the wooden garbage box and cooler box which were well tied shut. Even I struggled to open the boxes when shut tight but raccoons are so intelligent and probably have more experience at it then me. I was on them quickly and saved most of the food but they ran off with a bag of pistachio nuts they could grab in a hurry. We could hear them enjoying the bag in the darkness but luckily they were satisfied and did not return. We love sea food and ate large with salmon, halibut, lobster tails, jumbo scallops and mussels. So the garbage smell was sure to attract wildlife. That along with fresh Wellington farmers market vegetables and Fronterra fresh eggs, we had gourmet meals easily cooked on the propane gas stove. Along with local Norman Hardie wine, it could not get any better. The wineries in that area are great and all open for wine tasting. Daytime we spent hiking to burn the calories gained and Prince Edward County is gorgeous. I have never seen so many blue jays, hundreds. You have to go into this having done the research and with the right attitude. Nature can be harsh like the storm we were hit with but it can be so beautiful also. I think any rare bad review was from people not following simple rules and not seeing the positive side of this experience. Fronterra has done everything possible to make this a unique wonderful experience and to leave you with great memories. Something different and unique even the best five star hotels cannot give you. We are already talking of when we will return next. Thank you Jens & Inge

Great experience! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive.

We went with a group of 3 couples, so we got to see 3 sites, 2 forest and 1 water. Each site has its own unique character and design. The outdoor kitchen setup is great, and quaint. The outdoor showers are hot and amazing on demand, and compost toilet are surprisingly comfortable and odour free!

We went in labour day weekend and had some bugs outside, but not inside. The big mesh doors on the tent kept them out of the tents.

The service was amazing!! They are so accommodating, your baggage is carted for you to your tent, and a quick text to the front desk, and wood, ice, or even eggs can be dropped off at your site.

We’d definitely like to return!

Amazing place for a unique experience of glamping in the wood.

The owners are SO welcoming. The tents are clean, the shower is warm, everything is eco friendly :)

We've NEVER seen that many stars in the sky at night. Mindblowing. I would highly recommend this place. It is also close to a lot of winery, brewery.

Words can't do justice to the experience my husband and I enjoyed at Fronterra Farm! From the quality of accommodations down to the finest details, to the attentive service of the rangers - Nicole and Vivka - this is, hands down, a luxury five star experience. It's still camping, but on an elevated level. For those who've always wanted an authentic, natural camping experience, but didn't relish the sometimes "messy" downsides, Fronterra is your answer. Highly recommended!

We were consistently blown away by the well thought out and deliberate design of every detail. The 'on demand hot water' private outdoor shower - better than our own luxury shower at home - was absolute perfection! You haven't lived until you've had a hot shower in the morning sun! The freshly laid eggs from the farm coop and freshly picked kale - and even edible flowers! - from the farm garden delivered in style to our expertly curated outdoor kitchen was also especially cool. The king bed with luxury linens are akin to what you'd find in only the best boutique hotels.

The beauty of the area - ranging from spectacular sunsets, to the sight of hundreds of dancing fireflies, and starry night skies that will take your breath away - is beyond description. And in addition to the sheer beauty, the kayaking, canoeing and cycling opportunities - all within a short distance from the best beaches, craft breweries and vineyards in Ontario - are an added bonus. You won't be bored, that's a certainty!

We've already reserved our return trip for next year, and are even considering a short Fall trip. PS. It's recommended to book well in advance, as you may find that the 10 tents have all been booked for your preferred dates.

Clearly, the owners are committed to creating an amazing experience for all their guests, as they have a strong vision for what luxury camping can be. We're super happy we found them!

We had an amazing stay here at Fronterra. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the place is gorgeous. The tent and bed was so comfortable and in the morning we got fresh eggs from the farm. It is close to some excellent wineries. Overall fantastic stay and a great way to spend our anniversary. I highly recommended this place!

Thank you everyone at Fronterra! We had a terrific time with you and have already recommended you to all our friends. Once one adjusts to the vibration of nature (this took different times for each member of our family!) it is so peaceful and beautiful to be one with it. To any camping purists who dislike luxury, I want you to know that being comfortable in nature in an ecological way in no way detracts from the magic of it. The tents, bathing, and cooking/dining facilities at Fronterra are so thoughtfully constructed with a great deal of attention to the smallest level of detail - this made us feel very well cared for. The park rangers were exceptionally helpful, cheerful, and accommodating. And your holistic lifestyle is a true inspiration that everyone can follow to whatever extent feels right.

Such an amazing spot, hidden away in the woods across the water from North Beach. Jens is an amazing and welcoming host and has thought of all the important details throughout the spaces. Huge, comfy beds, hot showers with a view and fresh wild flowers on your table top. Excited to go back again in the future.

I went last year in July but just getting around this this now.
I went with my fiance and we had an incredible and unique experience! The staff is so lovely and helpful. We brought our bikes but honestly used them only once because it was just so relaxing and comfortable at the campsite. We were in one of the wooded campsites and it was perfect. I'd bring wood and a bag of charcoal as the price can add up if you get it onsite

Amazing experience, immaculate lodging, rustic in a charming well thought out way. The whole experience was so unique and well worth every penny! The staff and owners were polite and very welcoming. The surrounding area (Prince Edward) was picturesque and reminiscent of sea side villages. The only bad part was booking for two nights, wish we could have stayed longer!!!

I went glam-ping for the first time with my dad and sisters. We all had a great experience there. Lots of memories were made. The rangers were great, we liked the facilities, the tent and the beds were cozy and we loved the fresh eggs.

Me and my other half was on the hunt for a weekend getaway to unplug and unwind. Fronterra experience was one-of-a-kind from the coziness, immersive location and warm hospitality. We were delighted by the eco-friendly mindset of the hosts, they are a family that truely respects nature. Glamping was defined by adding comfy essentials such as a soft bed and hot shower while minimizing disturbance of nature. We were also warmly introduced to the area by our host Jens, telling us the fun knick knack of PEC.

Inspirational and relaxing. This was by far one of the best lodging experiences I have had, ever. The owners were extremely hospitable, generous and friendly. The land, the camp and the farm are absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to check out the garden. Cant wait to come back again and again! Thank you!

Had a great weekend camping here in a luxurious tent. It's hard to call it camping when you're sleeping in a king sized bed! Great private outhouse and shower. I can't wait to go back again when the brewery is ready!
