The Bauer Bakery & Café

We’ve been coming to Bauer Cafe for years - it’s always the perfect stop for a little treat. The staff are kind and lovely, and are always willing to provide a recommendation! The savoury breakfast sandwiches on croissants are a highlight. The baked good selection is vast and delicious. The feature croissant with strawberries and mascarpone was so good I bought 3! Special shoutout to Zerka who always makes our day when we come in! There’s options for folks with dietary restrictions and the space while small is cozy.

I love this place. Usually I go here with a laptop. It’s busier during weekends but still the wait time is very less compared to other breakfast places nearby.

The hosts are wonderful. The coffee and food is great. I’ve loved everything I’ve ordered till now.

If you are looking for a brunch then - Taaza Bowl is a very good option. The quality of food is excellent. I always have to take away as I can never finish.

Love their house coffee. Probably it’s Vincenza. But I’m not 100% sure about it.

The music is a bit loud so if you’re having a company then might have to talk a bit louder than normal. I usually go by myself to work on a weekend morning so I’m cool with this.

Highly recommend this place for a good breakfast or brunch.

A very special place with staff that genuinely care about each person. Hannah (her wonderful community-minded welcoming spirit, Emma (her encouraging and down-to-earth caring presence) and Zerka (her magnificently loving and world-changing hospitality and embracement of humanity) are a joy to be around. And the grain-free brownie never ever disappoints!

Been there a couple times already and tried several sandwiches and baked goods. This bakery is a bit more pricey than others but their food just tastes really good so that’s ok. Try their flourless brownie! The best one I’ve ever had for sure. Such a nice and rich chocolate flavor and the piece is huge, can never finish all of it in one go. Also the staff is very nice and helpful.

I got an oat milk hot chocolate. It was very tasty. I sat down in the lounge to listen to the nice soft music and enjoy my drink. Was a very pleasant experience and I would come here again!

As I enjoyed my coffee at Bauer Bakery, I couldn't help but be uplifted by the continuous stream of positive interactions I witnessed between Zerka and Dylan and their customers. In an age where meaningful interactions with strangers often seem scarce, it was truly heartwarming to witness the profound impact they have on every individual who walks through that door. Thank you, Zerka and Dylan, for spreading positivity and making every visit to Bauer Bakery a memorable one. If I could give 6 stars I would!

Just grabbed a coffee there to enjoy in the sun on their little patio. Freshly ground beans! Enjoyed their dark roast.

Super friendly staff. Parking was a trifle awkward, but found a parallel spot nearby. I think there's also parking under the building?

We popped in for a desert and drink. We chose the chocolate and coconut bar and the sticky toffee pudding. Both were amazing but the sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve had in Canada, and is so close to being the best I’ve ever had (considering I’m from UK, that’s really impressive!!). It was so good we had to take one home!! Thank you

i love their quiche options - and their customer service is AMAZING. a few months ago, the employee felt that the one was a bit overcooked (which, i thought was totally fine) and she and the manager offered me some percent off - way to go above and beyond. really sweet employees, and also their drinks and food are great.

Great food and good espresso. Happy that there are places to sit indoors - was worried when I came in to meet someone today that I'd have to sit outside. First time going here, and probably will stick to my usual haunt - but it'll be top of mind when I need a change of pace!

This is a really great coffee shop. Their coffee is very good and I especially love the fact that they have lactose free milk (only other place is Starbucks). They would get even more stars from me if they'd carry more gf foods.

Love the baked goods here: the butter tarts are to die for, and the coffee was very good! No indoor seating so we were able to sit indoors at the Bauer kitchen next door.

I don't remember the london fog that much really but I remember liking it plus there was a lil mini tree that was next to me when I drank it and it was cute. The staff was nice and did not kick me out of the cafe. Also delicious desert things so I have heard and smelled. it also just generally smells like bread and who doesn't like that?

Butter Tarts where amazing! Great service!

Really great quality but the prices are way too high.having said that I do not mind paying almost $4 for a butter tart because the staff here are so nice to deal with and I never feel rushed. The customer service is what keeps me coming back.

The food is excellent, loved the atmosphere! The bread pudding is to die for!!!

A gem that is hidden (a hidden gem). Do go to here and order yourself a hot coffee, they have house blend as well as other dwelling themed bean juices. DO order a breakfast sandwich (meat-filled or veggie). For under 5 dollars you can eat a delicious palm-food-stack.

This does appear to be a place Mike McCauley would enjoy. The next time you see him, ask if he likes it, and more important why he hasn't written any sort of review.
