It has been a great experience every time I come. Employees are always friendly and give great suggestions. Drinks are hot and made really well. Tap to pay is available, and they have a loyalty program that is really easy to sign up for. Tables are clean and it's not too loud there so it is really nice to meet with friends to chat. Will be back again!

Great atmosphere to work. It gets tons of natural light and is super modern. Sometimes hard to find a seat as it’s super full. The service is amazing. Lateeshia and the other girl working there were great at helping me with options and didn’t judge my lack of decision making abilities hah! I would love to come back again.
Decent coffee. Its not amazing but with the price point it makes sense. Wasn’t a fan of the nitro brew. It is too acidic and tastes weird. The vanilla sweetener is amazing!

Pilot has been high on my list of quality establishments for many years now and I was very excited to hear they were opening a local shop in Waterloo.
The coffee holds a high standard, as does service for the most part.
The decor here isn’t the coziest or most inviting, nor does it offer too many seats, but it’s clean and streamlined.

Sadly the city has made access to businesses along that side of King Street quite difficult with the ION train tracks running along it, which makes parking fairly inconvenient as you need to cross the street to park, either on the street or in the parking lot beyond that.
I think Pilot could have scoped out a better location with easier access, and it probably would have helped business even more.

All that said, I would still recommend Pilot as a high quality coffee shop worth a visit.

I got an iced matcha latte and cappuccino. Both tasted pretty good. Neat and new cafe in Waterloo.

Friendly staff, Will visit again.

Easily my favourite coffee spot. The people are always so nice, the drinks are delicious, and price is fair (no extra cost for nut milk!). I love the mocha latte but everything is good.

The wifi and outlets make it my go-to spot to do work.

My favorite coffee shop in Waterloo. Lovely, friendly staff. Excellent flat white. Great vibes. Only downside is it can get busy.

This cafe offers truly exceptional coffee and friendly service. The light roast recommend by the barista was one of the best tasting coffee I’ve ever tasted. Also loved the simple and minimalistic interior design. Overall an amazing experience and I will definitely visit again!

I especially liked their limited edition Catalan beans with watermelon notes. The place is tad bit small, sometimes with the counter looking a bit dirty as it has a white background. However, the chair and table is comfortable to sit and work for a prolonged period of time.

Ok I really don’t understand going to Starbucks across the street when this little gem is right here. The coffee is dark and smooth and the milk is foamed perfectly. Will definitely make this a regular stop!
I tried the pumpkin carrot coconut muffin, interesting mix.

I have tried only coffee to go. Love it. Love the design and people that work their. But I wish it would be cleaner inside as the design is so good but the dirty floor makes it looks clumsy.

The coffee is excellent and (at the risk of it selling out when I want it) the pistachio loaf is sooooooooo delicious! Moist, flavourful, not too sweet. Only downside: The muffin we tried was dense and dry, so marks taken off for that, but the banana loaf was good, and I haven't tried other treats.

The outdoor seating is great and we appreciated the friendly service!

We actually were in the area visiting and planned to go to Starbucks across the street but when we parked, I noticed Pilot Coffee Roasters so we decided to stop there instead since it's not usually within reach for us.

As we walked in, I noticed the open concept and minimal decor and fell in love with it! We were greeted by both the employees working right away and I must say, the customer service was perhaps the best part of the entire experience. We were never rushed to order as they gave us plenty of time to debate the menu and when it came time to order, the gentleman was very thorough and helpful with the sizes of drinks, explaining the milk alternatives which are free of charge, order was clarified to ensure it was correct - all in all, you could feel he took his time to get things right for us. When our iced matcha beverages were handed off, he realized he didn't let us know they come Una's a default and there, he offered simple syrup or vanilla syrup of our choosing since we do prefer our matcha sweetened. After tasting, we told him two pumps wasn't sweet enough and he kindly added more syrup for us. I personally ordered the seasonal white chocolate matcha as a hot beverage which was tasty but a little too sweet - I would request for half sweet next time. I also got the sea salt chocolate chip cookie as I couldn't resist (it looked so good in the pastry display!) It turned out to be absolutely delicious - the edges being the best part. My mom said it paired well with her Americano which was made with their Heritage blend. Speaking of which, before my mom ordered her coffee, she was offered to try their brew before buying which was really helpful as it ended up being too acidic for her. The Heritage blend was much more her preference with the nutty notes.

All in all, a nice place to study and/or grab a coffee and snack to go! I'd highly recommend anyone to visit if in the area.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a coffee and a cookie on the patio! Amazing latte and service. Overall, I’d I highly suggest this shop. The aesthetic is awesome!

If you're going to Starbucks for coffee when there's a Pilot across the street, you are objectively insane :) To paraphrase Walter White, it's grade school T-ball vs. the New York Yankees. Pilot is also... cheaper! Which is odd, really, considering the monumental quality difference. I've been going to Pilot in Toronto whenever I am there. I've tried MANY other coffee places but rarely find one that comes close to Pilot's consistency and quality.

You'll also find the baristas really know coffee.. if you're a huge coffee / espresso nerd, you will be able to talk quite in-depth, and perhaps even learn some new things about making your own coffee as I did. And if you're not, they'll happily guide you in a drink selection that suits what you're looking for, and even have several bean selections available. The Ana Sora was available when I was there which is always a favorite for a Cortado or a straight shot.

I REALLY wish there was a Pilot in Guelph, but until then, this is worth going out of the way for if you happen to be in K-W.

Certainly the best coffee in Waterloo. First time I went they didn't have 'good' milk alternatives (too watery). I went back, and found they served the better brands. Definelty at the top of my list now.

Staff are very lovely and friendly. Small, but simple menu with daily baked snacks (gluten-free options too!). I wish there was slightly more cozy seating, but otherwise it's a small shop with a nice and clean vibe.

Great spot with fantastic and friendly staff. Sometimes it can be a little busy, but what should one expect with a place so nice? :)

Great customer service and vibes from the employees. The space is bright and very clean. I ordered a matcha latte and it came with art. Delicious! Black coffee was nicely brewed; perfect temp and aromatics. Thanks for opening up this gem!

I'm just so glad that this place opened here in Waterloo like a month ago. I go to their Toronto locations a lot and I was kinda mad that Waterloo didn't have that many great coffee shops. Since their opening I've been here at least 5 times and the coffee tasted really good, I like the simplistic interior design as well, makes me relaxed. This will be my spot for coffee now.
