Kit Croissanterie & Cafe

My friends and I visited Kit Cafe for a quick coffee while exploring downtown Peterborough. The inside of the shop is very trendy and casual, with students working on assignments and friends chatting over coffee and a pastry.

My friend tried the lemon meringue cruffin (croissant + muffin) and absolutely loved the filling inside. They also make some of their coffee flavourings in-house and provide seasonal options!

The seating options are minimal in the actual cafe, although they’re connected to a cozy thrift store (Niche) and have a few additional seating options there.

It’s lovely to see the companionship and collaboration between Kit Cafe and Niche, especially as they lended a helping hand with the payment system for Niche during some technical difficulties.

Absolutely love the direct trade coffee and that they’re a living wage employer! Amazing work, team 🙌🏼

This place is very cozy, not too busy and the people working the moring of April 15, 2023 were very nice. Got a London Fog to enjoy my morning while I did some work. This local cafe in downtown Peterborough was an amazing spot to hit well in town. They even have a point system for those who frequent the Cafe.

Had the wonderful opportunity to support this amazing business yesterday and they did not disappoint! From the amazing latte to the delicious everything bagel and cookie clearly made with love, it was all so good! 👌

This is an amazing place where the croissants are melt in your mouth and the staff is friendly, and and community centered. They support the arts (open for first Friday) and stand for kindness and justice, and are there actively making the world a wonderful, peaceful and tasty place. And the coffee is great too! ❤❤❤

We ordered iced mocha, iced lavender and iced caramel lattes. All were on point, very tasty and served with a smile. It’s a small coffee spot with just a few tables and a pair of chairs near the bookcase in the front. No street parking but a lot is down the street. Best coffee in Peterborough!

Stopped in this morning while passing through Peterborough, they make a great cup of coffee and a killer croissant which was still warm from the oven. Definitely worth the visit.

As is my habit I grabbed a Cafe Mocha which had a nice rich chocolate flavour not that syrupy sweet stuff you get at other places.

This place has all the best vibes and top tier food and beverages. It's cozy and friendly. I loved the experience I had here, it was both amazing and delicious 10/10 recommend.

We visited 5 coffee shops in Peterborough this weekend, and Kit Coffee poured the finest—by a long shot.

Jennifer and Sidney were very friendly, candid, and conversational, which helped us feel at home in an already relaxed environment.

I appreciate all of the greenery throughout the space, the background music, and the little bookshelf at the front of the café.

Sidney showed us how they make their Americanos, by putting the cream and water in first to preserve the crème—now I wish I hadn’t already hit my two-coffee quota for the day.

The egg and bacon breakfast sandwich was FANTASTIC.

Overall, highly recommended!

From out of town for a hockey game and in search of some specialty coffee. I found Kit C &C and made the short trip downtown. You can find paid street parking or paid lots near by with ease depending on the day. Ambiance inside feels super relaxed and a quaint little spot with some seating for dine ins. Service was really friendly with great coffee (ordered flat white) , fantastic croissants and bagels but, the highlight of the visit was the Lemon meringue cruffin. Never had one but, WOW....great little combo of goodness and I wish I bought 2! I will 100% return the next time I am in town and hopefully early enough to purchase and consume some treats especially another Cruffin!

What a find! The cappuccino was exactly how it is meant to be but the pain au chocolat was probably the best I've had...and that saying a lot of you knew how many I've eaten 😁 The vibe in the place is quintessential cafe and the staff are super friendly. I can't wait to come back to Peterborough just to come to Kit's again!

Who needs Paris when you can get an amazing croissant right here in Downtown Peterborough? I have enjoyed Helen's wonderful creations such as the delicious breakfast croissantwiches, the chocolate croissant for when I would like a dessert treat or the plain butter croissant that can make you crave this delicious treat for days. I have enjoyed the warm and cold beverages. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They will endorse a conversation as you wait or provide you space to meet at one of the tables with a colleague or loved one. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. This local business is a must!

Really cool croissant. It didn't taste out of this world but I can tell it was unique & authentic. That's all I can ask for.

This was such a lovely and peaceful stop-in. Their chai was lovely and simple, and as a tea nerd I loved that they had an illustration of the tea plant on the wall (along with wheat and the coffee plant). The fella behind the counter was very friendly and funny. Thanks Zack!

Ventured out to Peterborough & had a lovely Oat Flat White from this place. Friendly and lovely inside. With patio seating outside as well.

This place is AMAZING!!!

The day we visited, the ladies Helen (The owner I believe) and Kat (the barista), were VERY friendly.

We stopped on January 25th (Sunday) just before closing. I mean MINUTES before...most places would be grumpy, but NOT here!

They were making a fancy Beef dinner, the name of which I can't begin to spell...."Beef Burgenion"(?sp) for their "Meals to Go" cooler.....<<<--BRILLIANT!

We ordered two coffees, I think they may have been 2 of the best coffees I have had in recallable past.

We also had a couple VERY tasty cookies....they even threw in a free one, because it was the end of the day and we were undecided on its purchase.

This place is INCREDIBLE! Worth the 140 Km drive.

We will absolutely return.

Great local spot for a good coffee and an even better breakfast sandwich.

The breakfast sandwiches are very good. Same with the frozen take home crosssaints.

Highly suggested if you're downtown and want a nice coffee.

Best croissants in ptbo! Staff are super kind and welcoming, the cafe itself is adorable and the food/drinks are always delish.
