Tried the Java Garden for the first time, I tried their soup and sandwich deal. The tomato red pepper soup was divine, and a very good sized serving, pork apple & brie great combo. What I was floored over was their freshly baked Portuguese tarts. I am a self claimed expert having traveled to Portugal for the original tart. I would say it is the closest I have found in the KW area. The staff was so welcoming it felt like a real neighbourhood gem. I decided to buy an additional 5 tarts to take home for company.

This is like a casual place to have anything from gourmet sandwiches to cheesecake. They also have a nice selection of coffee, non alcoholic drinks (such as flavoured sparkling water, soft drink, juice and more), tea lattes, and more.

I went after church for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything looked homemade. The desserts are amazing. We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their sandwiches also.

The staff that day was very helpful and friendly. You order at the counter. I would definitely go there again.

I forgot to mention the food is reasonably priced.

I ordered the gluten free tomato mozzarella spinach panini and I LOVE IT! its so yum and I love how they have gluten free options. I’ve gotten their watermelon smoothie and super fruit all star smoothie, both which are very nice. It is a little on the sweet side but a nice kind of sweet. The owner is also super sweet. I love walking to this cafe on my daily walks plus their prices are really affordable too.

I have been going here for about 5 years, as recently as last week. Every single time I have been I have been greeted with a warm welcome. This is clearly a family run business which adds to its charm. Everyone is friendly and helpful and provides great recommendations. The food is delicious and good quality. There is reliable internet and a great atmosphere to get some work done, with large enough tables. Definitely one of the best cafes in the area.

I have to be honest. I don't like either of the big two chains. Too impersonal, coffee only so-so (OK, so I offended 1/2 of you, LOL). And the food, meh.

Exactly opposite here. I talk to the owner, I get literally terrific service, the coffee is outstanding, the sandwiches are a new favourite, and the pastries are outstanding too. I've been scheduling in-person meetings here for the past year. Just outstanding. Highly recommended.

It was my first time here with a party of 5. I enjoyed the smaller space as it's a little more cosy and feels more lively with other customers. We were immediately greeted by the owner who offered great conversation and excellent service. We received samples of the red pepper and tomato soup and we were sold. The soup and pork panini combo was fantastic. If you prefer something else, the owner can offer some great suggestions. The owner is more than happy to cater to allergies or other dietary restrictions. The coffee was great and I felt like I received great value. I will be sure to return here again.

Discoverd this gem today while I was out and about, what a wonderful cafe! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and it is kept very clean. The staff are wonderful!

I had the chance to meet the owner, a lovely fellow, he offered me a delicious sample of the made fresh daily soup while I waited for my coffees to brew. This was actually the second time I went in today, I stopped in earlier to grab a coffee while I was in the area, I ended up getting a coffee and a banana bread muffin. The muffin was honestly the best muffin I have had, it was a europhic experience eating it. It was good that before I left the area to return home I stopped by again to grab some coffees and more muffins to bring home to the Misses.

10/10 would recommend and 10/10 I will be back!

I’ve gotten takeout and delivery from here a few times since moving to the area. My favourite is the tuna melt. The focaccia is so fresh and the toppings are well seasoned (I could’ve done without the corn but that was my fault for not reading the toppings lol).
Their service is kind and great! I ordered a lemonade they no longer had so offered me a unique flavour I never had before and loved! Also a sweet treat.

Sill definitely be back more and more.

Decided to come here today for lunch with my boyfriend. The owner of the Java Garden was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered two chicken, guac and bacon panini combos with the red pepper and tomato soup. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back again soon!

Went after seeing all the nice reviews and was not disappointed one bit. Was recommended their popular “Tomato Red Pepper Soup” which was fantastic and paired perfectly with the panini. Great meal to start the day! The owner was so kind and friendly. Will try out their baked goods next time.

Do you like amazing food? Do you like a comfortable, casual atmosphere that feels like you're home? THIS is the place to be!

From the moment you walk through the door and meet Dan the owner til you leave you will enjoy every second. His red pepper soup is incredible to say the least and paired with the roast pork, Apple butter and brie panini and you will wonder why you hadn't been there sooner.

He is friendly, attentive, extremely accommodating and funny. Watching him whip up a fresh batch of to kill your diet banana muffins shows his love for what he does.

We had learned from a Facebook group that Java Garden, among other things, served Danish Smørrebrød (Danish style open sandwiches with lots of toppings). Being Danish, we had to try.
We were told next time to book ahead so they would have more options and be sure to have the right ingredients available. Still, they made us two different types of Smørrebrød fresh as we waited with all the toppings expected with Danish Smørrebrød. It was really, really good and very authentic. We had frikadelle sandwich and egg and scrimp sandwich. And rum balls.
We spoke with the owner and learned a bit about his history and that of the café. We enjoyed our visit very much. We will definitely come back!

Just editing to say that we have been back: this time we ordered the sandwiches ahead and it was equally as delicious, if not more and very authentic Danish!

This place is heaven!!!!! My girlfriend just moved in so we dropped in here on a whim for a coffee and was blown away by the options. Ended up getting a breakfast sandwich, it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The pesto mayo is a great twist on an old classic. Girlfriend got the pork with apple butter. Very impressed and this just became our new breakfast spot!!!!!
