Lismore Sheep Farm & Wool Shop

A great place to stop with kids - they have a barn where you can meet the sheep and learn a little (self guided).

Then in store they have a lot of really great yarn but also many other nice products - including some of the most beautiful sheepskins I’ve ever seen with gorgeous colour varieties in them. Loads of craft kits to pick from too and ideas around store. Very easy to spend money for sure!!!

They also have a small play table with some trucks near a chicken coop for kids to play with, and some picture board sheep you can stick your head in / pose with.

This is not some mega tourist stop but a really really well run local store with some experiential learning offered which is awesome. My kids were happy to spend time I the barn / play with the trucks for an hour or so !

A wonderful place, with wonderful sheep. The barn has a very Irish and Scottish atmosphere similar to the many farms I have visited while abroad. The yarns and blankets are perfectly made with a very personal touch. Of all the farms in Nova Scotia, this one is on the top of the list

I had this on my list of things to see on our vacation, and when today turned out to be rainy, I stopped in with my three year old. We both loved seeing and petting the sheep, and there was a very detailed and very interesting interactive display all about the shearing and wool preparation process

The store is bright and well stocked with a large variety of wool products. The prices are great for both yarn and finished products, especially considering almost all of it is handmade!

A must see if you are in the area!

It’s good for what it is. This place isn’t designed to be an attraction or day trip place. It’s basically a farm/wool store that has a few sheep to pet and feed. The wool products for sale are quite nice, but pricey. Good place to kill 30 minutes with kids.

Nice shop. Great sheep barn to visit as well. Friendly sheep you can see up close. Very nice staff, and some beautiful items available.

Fantastic shop! We stopped in and spent over 30 minutes checking out the many fantastic woolen products. From felting kits to slippers, there was so much to see here. Definitely worth the stop!

This is my summer spot to go with the kids. I make a trip at least once if not more times a year. They now have a new shop which made me squeal with delight (sad I know)! The kids get to visit the sheep in the barn and then we head over to the shop to pick up my supply of wool. They have a great selection of yarn and wool roving as well as handmade goods just waiting to be taken home. I love the people who work there, it is clean and a gem hidden away from the busy roads. Worth the trip! My only suggestion is that I need more colour selection in the wool roving such as a variety of skin tones.

Great place. Lots of sheep there. Bought a couple pair of sheep insoles for winter boots. Feels good on the feet and should keep the feet warmer next winter.

Bought 2 standard wool pillows from their website, I am beyond impressed with the quality of the product that was far better than what you would find from a name brand store, not to mention better priced. Definition a hidden treasure

Beautiful farm setting in VERY scenic River John NS. On the premises shop for woolen products. Once yearly, they host a "carnival" type of event with live music, sheep shearing exhibit and my personal favorite, the dog obstacle event. Not any old dog event...these dogs have won international championships!

Kids loved it? Small but nice! They had cool sheep boards with face cut outs for pictures, and lots of neat things made from wool and things in the store area!

I love this place!! When we went about a month ago..we were disappointed when the sign at the end of the driveway said "by appointment" . Not ready to give up so easily, we drove into the yard and the owner immediately appeared to welcome us!! So we did get our "yarn fix"!! Thanks!!

The wool, yarn and finished products are beautifully crafted and attractive. The shop is spacious and pleasant; perfect for lengthy browsing!
