Over the decades have been here many times. September 2023 was very quiet and peaceful - we almost had the entire place to ourselves. Park fee provides access to the museum as well.

This is Canada's birth place! Fort Anne and Port Royal Habitation were pivitol in the making of what we now know as Canada.
Lovely site, well maintained grass and yard.
Lots of parking and is pet friendly as well.
You can see the cannons, and hills surrounding its Fort from every angle. During the summer there is often many cafes open, and restaurants in the quaint little town of Annapolis Royal.

The historic site is well maintained and clean. There were several informative signs and lots open greens space. Our grandkids loved exploring history.

An incredibly scenic spot and reasonably quiet for a tourist spot. Cute shops around and really open to the public to explore at their own will. A good day trip!

Fort Anne was amazing. Easily visited in an hour to two depending on how much you want to read. It had beautiful views and you can really envision how it was used hundreds of years ago. There were activities for kids. Very affordable. Kids are free and 5$ for adults. Located in a very touristic part of Annapolis Royal. You can park and walk to tourist shops and restaurants from the site.

I was so amazed at how old NS truly is! All the information was awesome and well displayed! The museum was well worth the $4.50 admission charge

Interesting and beautiful place to walk around. The little museum is also very informative, learnt a lot about the history of Fort Anne, and the Natives, the French and the British.

A great spot, educational, very well kept, there is a museum on site that we did not attend but would love to the next time.

This is an impressive site with lots to see and do without even paying to go into the z Officer's Quarters.

There are lots of information boards and this is a must-see attraction in the town.

If you like Canadian history at all, this is the place for you. One of the oldest towns, one of the oldest forts with the country’s first structure. This European settlement site has lots to offer with stunning views.

Beautiful area and lots of history. I have Acadian ancestry so always interesting to walk where my ancestors lived. The graveyard more than likely holds some of them. At least one of the buildings dates from 1708, and there's plaques with information on located all over including about Charles Fort that was also in this area. Nice place to spend a day walking around and watching the tide come and go. There's a graveyard tour at night that's highly recommended. I'm sorry I missed it.

Beautiful and serene. Rolling grassy hills with old buildings to explore and an incredible view of the Annapolis Basin. Also, it's right downtown in Annapolis Royal, with great local shops, cafes and pubs, and the famous Annapolis Royal farmers market.

We arrived after hours so just did the adequate self-tour around the perimeter. There are many signs that provide the history and this is a beautiful place to walk and explore.

Got there after closing time and still enjoyed walking around the fort area. Just no museum, but no fee, crowds, or parking issues either!

Scenic and well maintained, we really enjoyed walking around the fort, reading and seeing the historic features. Helped us understand English presence here in 1700-1800s. One of best spots to visit in Nova Scotia!
