Armadillo Trailers manufactures small, quality fiberglass travel trailers. Fiberglass trailers also last a long time and tend not to leak. They come in two models--the original 13.5' Armadillo and the 14' Armadillo Backpack. I chose the latter with the "Table for Two" floor plan. That has two tables (a table for two and a table for four) that both convert into beds. In between is a small kitchen with cooktop, sink, and fridge.

These trailers are customizable--I chose the interior cabinet and table top finishes (a woodgrain "Secret W443 VL" top and purplish "Saguenay S517CA" cabinets), and a white exterior.

I recommend buying the solar option and lithium battery option to maximize your stays at primitive campgrounds.

The trailer has a 10.8 fresh water tank. Most options come with no blackwater and no flushable toilet, which is fine with me as I do not want to deal with that "stuff".

The short length makes the trailer very maneuverable and allows stays at rustic campgrounds that have narrow roads and short campsite pads.

We are on our 2nd trailer from Armadillo and can’t say enough about how happy we have been about the service and quality provided. We were the proud owners of Armadillo #1 first off the production line and only upgraded to the Backpack recently due to our growing family. We made sure to keep #1 in the extended family and still know she is going strong today! What I love the most about this company is their adaptability to individual customer needs. Everyone is not the same kind of camper! Other trailer companies will sell you something prefab based on a set floor plan and style but Jason, Mike and team work with you to find the perfect fit for you and your family.

Fantastic trailers built by fantastic people! Jason and Mike always go the extra mile. If you can dream it up, they can usually find a way to make it happen. We L ove our Armadillo Backpack trailer. So far I can say with confidence that we have more the a few options that aren’t on any other small travel trailers. We were looking for a small trailer that would fit into our single car carport, and was light enough to be towed with our small vehicle, while still providing all of the creature comforts we wanted, with plenty of room for a family of three, plus our dog. Armadillo ticked all of the boxes for us. Thanks again to Jason and Mike, you guys are the best!

Amazing Toys for $35,000

I usually don’t leave reviews but I figure it will be a disservice to prospective buyers. We received our armadillo April 2022.

Pros: It is cute and lightweight. You definitely get looks and curiosity wherever you go. There is a personal touch that makes the camper feel like it is truly yours.

Cons: Armadillo trailers, as a company was extremely difficult and stressful to work with. They will occasionally answer your emails (never phone calls) until they collect your money. With Minimal correspondence, you will go months until you hear from them. It took almost two years until we got ours and to be fair this was during covid-19, supply shortages and a forest fire.
After a few trips w/ our camper, things started breaking down. A big item such as our electric converter, to little things like drawer hinges (easy to fix). Mike reassured us that we were covered under warrantee for the converter so we went to a local RV shop to get fixed. It took 5 months for Mike to reimburse us for the warranty and it was not the full amount (too long of a story).

We received a lot of apologies from them (Mike), which we try to understand, but when it happens at every interaction (months at a time) it feel insincere. Overall, for first time buyers like us, we like our camper. However, if we knew the lack of professionalism and integrity that this company had we would probably look elsewhere.

Great trailers but they do not get back to you when you call them and leave a message or email. Considering their lack of response I would hesitate plunking down the full cost of a trailor ( about 32000) 6 months in advance while they build it... just saying..

Messaged them weeks ago for info about their trailers and pricing. Not a word back. Lost yourselves a customer.
