Waddling Dog Pub

This is a pub. So expect pub food. The fish & chips are excellent. The tartar sauce is a welcome addition, great taste. The size of the fish pieces make any f&c lover love it. Not huge but not small. Not too much batter (see my pictures). I recommend this place especially if their other food is as good.

I loved this place! Coming from Vancouver, I ordered 2-piece fish and chips. Turns each piece in here is surprisingly a huge piece! The food quality was pretty good, the staff were super friendly, and service was very fast. The beef dip was also very yummy.

We were a party of 10 they had our food out in a reasonable time and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. If you like Ceaser order there's it's amazing.

Love the Waddling Dog! Great staff, good venue, and the owner Brandon is a really nice guy who always goes out of his way to welcome patrons and ensure their experience is exceptional. My favorite pub on the island. 5 stars all around.

I love this place. I don’t live on the island but work has brought me to this general location. And I’ve been quite a few times and the food every time is awesome. The waitresses are awesome and on top of things. It’s a highlight every time I come here. A must!

Absolutely the most pleasant pub experience we have had in many years. Originally from Vancouver, we are use to get in, eat and get you out environment. I wish I had our servers name, she was fantastic and made us feel welcome. We came for the season opener canucks game. It was busy however that did not hinder the service or the food. The food was on our table very quickly. We were so relaxed. You will see us next time we are over there.

Had a wonderful time here today. Rebecca was a great server. She was super fast and on point. She is the patio Queen! Went for the 2 piece cod fish and chips with extra lemon. Fries were crunchy and amazing and the fish was full not just a batter but good sized pieces and delicious. I had a great time and recommend it if you're passing on the highway. Locals already know how dope it is here !! ;) Ignore the paint on my hand in the pic. I just came from painting a house lol

It is not because of the very good atmosphere and food, nor the generous and filling portions (all of which are true) that I am writing this review.
Rather what has prompted me to leave a review was our server, Mercedes. She was courteous, prompt, helpful and appropriate, but what really made her outstanding is her (likely innate) aptitude for the hospitality industry. This woman made us feel as though we were HER GUESTS! Mercedes was upbeat, smiling, pleasant and attentive. And she was BUSY, I never saw her standing still, except when interacting with us or other clients.
She definitely has a well above average aptitude for the hospitality industry, and if I were running an establishment in the area, I would do my utmost to convince her to come work for me.

This establishment has done a pretty good job of re-creating what many British pubs used to look like back in the Olde country. Of course, times have changed. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. Based on the number of guests (there were no tables immediately available it was Friday, 7:15pm) it must be good. There is a liquor store attached on one side of the pub and Hotel on the other.

A nice relaxed pub. I will admit that I have only been there once in the last decade (but then I don't live anywhere near it) so this review is based on only that one visit.

Firstly, there is a good selection of drinks and the staff was very good at finding what we were looking for - and they were also fun to chat with. The kitchen closed early, but the menu looked good. Actually, the pub closed kind of early, too, but it was a fun evening so I will be looking at going back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Great place, unusual chicken Parma for an Aussie but still tasty! Kudos to our brilliant child friendly waitress as well, she deserves a raise!

Perfect place to stop for a cold bev and a bite to eat on the way to the ferry. Very fast service and excellent Jamaican wings - will definitely be back !

Lived in Victoria my whole life but for some reason had never been. I look forward to going again soon. Very nice atmosphere, food was good tasting and good value, and service was impeccable

A surprisingly good experience for the out-of-the-way location. Our server was lovely. The food was good and arrived fast.

Friends got the beef dip. They thought it was awesome. I tried it and it was tasty.

The rhubarb pie was so good that I considered getting a second one.

We ate here for the first time today on our vacation. I had the chicken bacon ranch wrap was pretty darn good. I believe my waitress went by the name “emjay” she went the extra mile for my hunnys picky needs ! She was so positive and made the atmosphere that much better! We will be back before we leave! Thank you

They're gonna hate me for saying this... But get the super Caesar of you like a ridiculous amount of garnish on your Caesars!

Courtney did an amazing job. We were in Victoria for a vacation and stopped to have some food and drinks. Amazing food and drinks. Prices were reasonable. Great bar overall.

Good food at reasonable prices. Service was slow but they looked to be a little short of staff during a lunch rush.

This is a good local pub to drop in. Friendly staff and good relaxed atmosphere as well. Right on the highway to Swartz bay. Check it out if you are in Victoria. I can see this as my regular hang out.

First time there. Wait staff were amazing and everyone said their food was great.
