Fort McMurray International Airport

Very clean, well designed, and organized airport. Staff is friendly and it’s not too busy. Try to get here little early, especially if you’re traveling with children, and visit the observation deck on the third floor. It is small but worth visiting.

I am a random traveler. Always had amazing experience at this airport. No big line up in checking counter. Excellent service with smiles from every airline staff. Security is so fast. Done in few minutes. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Very nice and neat and clean airport. Not much people around. Burger King, Tim Horton’s are open for limited time. However they offer free parking pass if you buy more than $10 or so. Earls kitchen, Tim Horton’s and convenient store are located in passenger waiting area. Washrooms are super clean. Lots of comfortable sitting area for passenger.

On my recent trip through Fort McMurray International Airport (YMM), I was genuinely impressed by the seamless and efficient experience it offered. Despite being a smaller airport, YMM punches above its weight in terms of facilities, cleanliness, and the overall passenger experience.

From the moment I entered, the airport staff were friendly and helpful, guiding me smoothly through security, which was surprisingly swift and stress-free. The cleanliness of the terminal is worth mentioning; it’s clear that the management puts a high emphasis on maintaining a pristine environment for travelers.

The waiting areas are comfortable and spacious, with plenty of charging stations for gadgets, which is a thoughtful touch in today’s connected world. The Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect to, allowing me to catch up on work before my flight.

Boarding was organized and efficient, a testament to the well-trained staff and the airport’s commitment to passenger satisfaction. Even upon return, the baggage claim process was swift, with no unnecessary delays.

Overall, Fort McMurray International Airport offers a surprisingly pleasant and streamlined experience, making both departure and arrival hassle-free. It’s a shining example of how smaller airports can deliver exceptional service, rivaling their larger counterparts. I look forward to my next visit to YMM and highly recommend it to any traveler looking for a stress-free start or end to their journey.

Nice looking airport and has an earls restaurant, Tim hortons, and small store to buy gifts and candy once you go through security.

There is a burger King on the 2nd level before you enter security.

So far i didn't get kicked out which is awesome! Very small airport altogether tbh.

It was pretty good. they always recommend arriving 2 hrs ahead of take off, but if you aren't going to make that don't fret about it. I have never taken over 15 to 20 minutes to get from the entrance to the loading queue. The staff are very friendly and will help you with anything you need!

Great, airport and spent a lot of time eating at Earls!

They even have a cool eye glass cleaning machine for free. It's like a mini car wash for eye glasses!

Always clean and friendly staff. Easy to get around. Not many food options, however the Earls past the security checkpoint has really good food! Not too busy most of the time, compared to other international airports

It would be nice if they could get the automatic scanning of bags for flights. That way we don't need to wait for someone to check them in.

I've been too many memorable places from YMM airport. Overall, great experience.

This airport is absolutely gorgeous. It’s small so it’s easy to run to your flight when you’re wee late.

The parking lot and drop off/pick up areas are large and nicely organized. It makes it very easy to pick up your family or friends.

The best part of this airport is the arrivals section. Passengers come down an escalator to the baggage area. I always make a massive sign for my guests to make sure they feel welcome. As this is a small airport, there is never a crowd so I am always standing alone with a 3’ by 4’ sign welcoming everyone on that flight to Fort Mcmurray.

Straight forward airport. Security is usually quick. There’s an Earls to kill some time before your flight. 6 gates total. Rentals are downstairs. The cars themselves are just across the street. Two baggage carousels (if I remembered downstairs correctly). Easy drop off and pick up.

Small town modern airport with a few amenities, no 2 mile runs to find your gate!! Relaxing pre flight, great helpful staff. Loved it.

Comfortable cute little modern airport. I was at the grand opening in 2014? I can't remember. Restaurants have kind service and there are nice people running the airport. This is Fort McMurray, this is all what a small city really needs.

Haven't had any issues with the airport as of yet, its clean, the staff are professional and due to the size getting around is very easy. One thing to note is that they now close at 11:30 p.m. and open at 3:45 a.m. due to Covid-19.

Well designed modern airport with good restaurants, bars, comfortable seating and free Wi-Fi. Parking is good and traveling too and from is easy. Facilities are new and clean and the architecture is maybe one of the best in Canada

Although quiet, all staff I encountered were observing current health protocols. The airport is clean and tidy, and staff are helpful.

Nice airport and very clean. It's small, so it's easy to find your way around. Earls is open in the terminal after security.
