G&A Lock and Security

My positive review goes to the very friendly staff I dealt with in person. They were very helpful and friendly. I will however give a 1 star review to 'Lori' who must work in the office? She was pretty curt and dismissive when talking to her on the phone. She also does not seem to know what services her employer offers as I was told they do not cut keys any longer. This is a high security key with GA being the only one that is able to copy it. I was told to go across town to have it copied. I followed her instruction and was told nobody could cut the key other than GA, as stamped on the key. I drove back across town to GA and was greeted with friendly staff who confirmed that indeed I could only have the key cut there. Lori, you should brush up on your customer service skills as well as inform yourself on which services you provide. Account holder or not, a high security key that CANNOT be copied anywhere else with YOUR company name stamped on it should be honored. Again, the guys behind the counter were great.

Came in to get a special latch because I had a customer who got stuck without a lock on his front door! G&A provided a professional and helpful service, definitely the best locksmith shop in Waterloo. Thank you for a kind service.

Great service and so professional. My key broke in the door and they were able to not only remove the broken piece but create a new key from the two broken pieces. Called after hours on a Sunday night and they're response was almost immediate. I have nothing but kind things to say and much gratitude.

I’ve always had great service from these folks. They are able to work with keys that other places don’t have the blanks for. They are pleasant to work with and I’ve never waited long even when the store is busy. They were also able fix a key that was not cut properly at a different business. They charge a fair price for their work also. I think they are a great business to have in our community and they are my first choice for locks and key cutting.

I brought in a camper door lock from 1973 that had stopped locking. I’ve had a hard time trying to find a locksmith who knew how to fix these locks but G&A were able to do it and very quickly!! Customer service was amazing. I don’t think I’ll ever go to anyone else. Would recommend to anyone!

Fantastic service. We had electronic locks installed recently on 8 doors and everyone involved was friendly and great to work with. Very knowledgeable about the products they sell. Support after installation has been great as well and we are happy to continue working with them. They also installed a new door for us in a fieldstone foundation that required some creative solutions and a lot of stone grinding so hats off to JR for just getting it done and doing a good job.

We've used G&A for years at work (vault changes, safe repair, re-keying locks and Medeco keys). I have never had a negative experience, ever. Everyone at G&A has been professional, prompt and very good at their job... As well as super nice! We will continue to support this wonderful local company.

I haven't been to G&A in a few years, but the last time I needed a key cut they were just around the corner so I figured I'd give them a shot.

They were totally professional and courteous. They let me know how long it would take to cut the keys I needed cut and were accurate to within 1 minute.

They seemed knowledgable and friendly (a few customers seemed to want to hang out just to chat).

If I ever have lock or security needs in the future, I'm confident I will turn to G&A.

These guys are great. We were looking for a new gripset to buy that day and they had a great selection.

We selected a specific model but had not considered which side the set was to be installed. When we realized the error, they not only took the set back, but had an alternate set that exceeded our needs.

They are very helpful, professional and have great customer service. I will not hesitate in recommending them.

Had a car key that needed to be copied but it was kind of beat up and worn. We were worried because when we went to the hardware store, the copy they made wouldn't work. These guys got it done right on the first try, no problem. These guys really know their stuff, they're friendly, and their prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

Excellent, professional service. They easily cut new keys for some new tenants and also I've used them to cut heavy equipment keys so my company has spares. Highly recommend them, a real blessing to have in the community.

I have worked with G&A through my place of employment for years, and have always been impressed by their professionalism and their kindness. When I lost a set of my house keys and needed to have replacements made, I didn't even consider going anywhere else. And I was blown away by how quick and helpful they were. Thanks G&A!

I've gone to G&A on several occasions in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
One lock I was wanting re-keyed, they were unable to guarantee that the lock would be functional after opening it. I was more than happy to live with 2 keys and grateful they told me before hand that they weren't sure. All other services they've done has been great and ahead of schedule.

I heard about these negative reviews about a local small business and I think it's terrible. This company was being professional and doing a job. I applaud them for helping keep our community safe. I'm a healthcare worker who has been working all the way through the pandemic from day one. I'm appalled by these church goers for thinking that they're above the law by repeating breaking the laws and putting the rest of us at risk. Shame on them. Keep up the great work G&A! I'll definitely use you in the future

I was just there today and all the people in the shop were positive and good-humoured, which was really pleasant given that I arrived 5 minutes before closing time and probably delayed them! They quickly and efficiently re-keyed the deadbolt I brought in. They also oiled it! When I installed it, it worked beautifully. All round great experience.

We have been using G&A locks for 10 years as our business security system supplier and door locks. Have always sent out a tech immediately when we have had an issue (which is rare) and provided us with new keys in a quick time frame. Very customer oriented company!

I haven't needed their services yet but when I am in need, I will 100% be using this company. It is comforting to know that my safety and security is in the hands of an ethical company that follows the law. Although what they did may not be the popular thing in some people's eyes, G&A did do the right thing. And for that, they will get my business.

Amazing service! Went in to get a car key duplicated. Was warned that there's no guarantee since it was bought off Amazon but that they would do their best.

Key worked perfectly! Was in and out in less than 10 mins.

I have known and dealt with G & A Lock service for many years now. Always good service, always knowledgeable and a wealth of experience.
I recall the fire at their old facility on Laurel Street many years ago and the saying painted on the back of their service vehicles...something like.....We Don't cut keys to Heaven!
