River Street Cafe

I am new to town. My cousin came to visit, and we popped into here for lunch. We were both so pleasantly shocked at how wonderful the staff, environment and most notably how great the food was. Prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to come back again soon.

Update! Phenomenal food all homemade. Excellent staff! Really nice place to visit. Seating has changed since my last review at the start of covid. Now very covid careful, great ambiance, tin ceilings and great interior design. The jewel of Sunderland in my opinion. Lunch was busy but delicious.

Great spot, no bigbox coffee shops in Sunderland, so this place was absolutely outstanding. Great coffee, didnt try anything else. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, baked goods were looking fresh and ready to go. Seriously comfortable sitting areas, great spot for a tea coffee snack and a good book or a chat with a friend. Highly recommend stopping in, if youre in the area.

As always, the River Street Cafe does not disappoint; fast and friendly service.

Like the bar cheer where everyone knows your name! Expect a beautiful small town cafe my whole family loves this place. I recommend it to anyone living or passing through sunderland.

This Cafe is the best I have been too. Such a rustic Antique look it's beautiful and the food and drinks are phenomenal. The quality of all product you receive is well worth your money and then some. The staff is also great ! Always have a smile on their faces ! Shout out to tracey

Looks like a really nice place but it’s never open! Hours posted are suggested only, so be ready with a plan B (hint - there is no plan B because it’s the only coffee within 10km).

Absolutely the best bagels, sandwiches and coffee you can get anywhere! I had the BLT on a cheese bagel and it was to die for. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t miss this place!!!

They got me breakfast sandwiches and coffee to go in the morning and a small lobster bisque with a cranberry chicken and brie Panini. Reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of food. Very fresh ingredients!

Fantastic! I had the iced coffee and bagel with cream cheese a d salmon, it was delicious! Highly recommend, very friendly service!
