Howe Sound Taphouse & Kitchen - New West

This place is great! We were just in New Westminster for a night and needed a place for dinner. So glad we stumbled upon Howe Sound Taphouse. The smash burgers with bacon are the perfect size, and you can sub out the fries for an array of other options, like a caesar salad, soup, or poutine. Tracy was our server and she was top notch. Her recommendations were spot on and even gave us ideas of things to do on our road trip through western Canada. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. They will not disappoint! Oh and try the stickey toffee pudding with ice cream. So good!

I love this pub. The beer is awesome made in Squamish. The waitresses are always very friendly and welcoming, the food is great and the atmosphere makes you wanna stay all night. They have happy hours from 3 to 6 and 9 to closing time. Their lager is $5.00 during happy hours. I love that. Burgers are $9.00 and fries are $4.00. No other craft beer brewery pub has sports on TV, happy hours and a pub atmosphere. Great bar

My husband and I went to the New West location this evening and not only was the food great, but the service we received from Tracey M was extraordinary. She truly cared about making us happy and it was a pleasure to talk with her. We left feeling like our experience was a great ending to our weekend. Thank you, Tracey!

I went in the past few times to see how much has changed and boy has it become even better. The beer prices are great especially during happy hour time and I have to say the pizza is the best thing that I have. I got the spicy Hawaiian pizza and added bacon and mushrooms to the pizza. The pizza is a true beauty and the taste is amazing

The burger here is insanely good. Happy hour burger price is great. Beers are good too. Bruh. Do yourself a favor and come to happy hour here

Came here to kill a few hours, $15 for a burger, added 4 bucks for poutine, it's 2024 so that's a cheap pub burger. Three strips of good bacon, decent pattie, no complaints. Poutine was ok, shredded cheddar instead of curds, and gravy was packaged. But for $19 who cares, it was delicious and the bartender was an absolute sweetheart. I'll be back for sure.

A nice neighborhood pub serving a good selection of beer. The serving staff is always friendly and helpful. I noticed a nice touch: they have USB charging ports on the bench seats.

I am still disappointed that they built the beer store at the front of the pub as it closes off the pub from the street and changes the vibe. Nice patio out back though.

Try the potato skins, very unique and very good.

Food was good and Tracey was such a nice server, immediately replaced my mixed up order no questions asked and was a sweetheart. Would recommend going especially if you stay at the hotel.

Just a stop to a watering hole on the way home; I bumped into this gem of a spot. The chicken wings were perfection and the beer washes it down nice! Had me a great time betting on keno and pull tabs! Service rocked and was a great stop for sure!

Really enjoyed stopping here for lunch during a summer internship I did in the neighborhood. The pasta and burgers both taste excellent and are very reasonably priced. Highly recommend folks give it a try.

I had 3 pints of bud a plate of wings and a burger. Then I got a shot of tequila and asked for the bill. Awesome food. Good service. Highly recommend. This was my first time visiting as I recently moved to New west. I will be back.. hopefully not every day... if my will is strong lol

Love the new menu. The meatloaf is amazing as well as the mac n cheese. Happy hours prices are the best in town and the staff treats you like family. They also have a pool table which is hard to find at bars these days. Keep up the good work everyone.

Staff is hilarious and goes out of their way to make you feel like a regular. From what I hear their pizza is amazing!

Kind of shocked to read the negative reviews, I have been a customer for a long time and I've never had a problem with the food, this place is a bit old and has a lot of history to it. I also get top level service whenever I go there. The bartenders or waitresses always have big smiles and are a treat to be with, while I enjoy a couple of beers after I'm done work.

Darryl is a definite favorite for me when it comes to bartenders, he always has funny jokes and is fun to be around, plus he really just genuinely enjoys bar tending and I can see it through the way he treats people.
