Joyland Theatre

The owners are wonderful! They take great pride and care of their theatre and everyone that walks in the doors. Good pricing, comfortable seats. Such a fantastic theatre here in Strathmore.

It has been many moons since I have been to a movie at the Joyland Theatre and it was honestly just as I remembered. Normally this would be disappointing considering the majority of the theatre is just as it was before. But the feeling of nostalgia and enjoyable experience with my family made it all worth it!

Budget friendly activity for the family, only downside was organization upon entering.... One line for tickets and treats (should be two identifiable lines). Overall minor detail as it all worked out but it made it confusing for patrons on exactly where they should be lining up. When tickets are already purchased... Anyway not sure how to adjust considering this establishment has limited space to work with.

Again, enjoyable experience and would definitely go again next time we are in town!

Have wanted to come here since before the pandemic. Finally made it a date and my wife and I came expecting a small town theatre experience and boy it did not disappoint! Watched Top Gun Maverick, the sound was great! Enjoyed our view from the balcony and thought the pricing was very reasonable. Service with a smile too! Can't wait to come back with the kids!

Took my son to see a movie as always it's a great place.

This is such a great movie theatre!
The updates that the owners have done with the marquee outside , movie posters inside, chairs, and interior really give it that golden age of cinema feel. Also they make the best popcorn out of any movie theatre I’ve been to. Also the price can’t be beat.
I highly recommend anyone that lives in Strathmore to make a visit and watch a movie, and even if you live in Calgary to maybe one day make the trip out.

What a charming small town Theatre. The Dolby Digital makes the surround sound even better in a smaller theatre. Remember to bring cash for tickets.

Reasonable rates for movies and popcorn. A clean and comfortable theatre.

7 bucks for kids and 10 bucks for adults not bad at all.. the only cinema at Strathmore I only watched blockbuster movies like black Adam. Very affordable and money value fir what you spend . Support the local and your own community .

What a beautiful old theatre. Under new ownership and completely restored to it's original glory. Really feels like your going out to the movies like it use to be. Staff where very friendly. Projection and sound are excellent. It even has the new Dolby Atmos sound system! Popcorn was some of the best I have had.Excellent! We will be going back for sure!

Small town service, big city sound and screen. Old fashioned prices! Making going to a movie affordable again! Joyland theatre has all the latest movies but without the lineups and high prices and the 40 minute drive into Calgary. Big screen, comfy seats and excellent popcorn!

The seats were a little bit small but otherwise awesome...just thankful for the theater 🙂

Love having this cozy theatre in our town, great for date nights. The seating is good, including a balcony, and the popcorn is always top-notch too.

I haven't been to the Joyland for years and was surprised by how nice our small town theater is. Good picture, good sound, and good seats! BTW Reccomend seeing Ford vs Ferrari on the big screen!

Super fun, a real treat to classic theatre of days gone by, every kid needs to experience this retro masterpiece, bring cash though, no debit.
