Animal Care Centre of Strathmore

Our family was recently so blessed by the support and care of Dr Jackie Elbert and The Animal Care Centre of Strathmore. On December 21st we called in as we concerned with our 6 year Old Bernese Mountain Dog, Georgia was in physical distress. They had us come immediately, where quickly they were able to determine that she had a bowel blockage that would require emergency and ultimately life saving surgery. Our family is so grateful for the care and support they offered through this whole process. We have been with the Animal Care Center for several years and bring all our Dogs and cats here routinely. We have always received excellent service, care, and clear communication in understanding what’s required for care. Words can not begin to express how much love care and support we felt through this whole process. Every single person was so caring and took extra time to follow up and check in on us while she was in recovery and after she came home. Thank you for dealing with our family compassionately during the difficult time. I would recommend Animal Care Centre of Strathmore for any and all pet needs.

Animal Care Center Strathmore is remarkable. At 6:45 am today, our old pup came across a coyote. She was seen and treated with the most amazing efficiency. They have a practical approach and always respect our wishes and concerns. Over the years, we could not be more pleased with the service that we have received there.

I only have good things to say about the Animal Care Centre. After having an emergency situation and not being a client, they got my dog in right away. With such excellent care and staff, I decided to switch vets and am so glad I did. Unfortunately we had to utilize their emergency line another time, and received excellent support outside of office hours. Amazing service and friendly staff every time, and I know my dog is being well cared for.

What amazing service! Thank you Animal Care Centre. I called in on Friday because my grand puppy had gotten into my grapes on the vine in my backyard. I did a
Google search and found they could be very toxic. Even tho we were not a patient, they had a quick meeting, asked us to come in, made him rid his stomach of all they could
Get out then fed him charcoal to absorb the rest. They made an appt in city for a 24 hour service that they could not provide due to hours needed (they are not a 24 hour facility) and sent us on our way. All with much care, professionalism and efficiency. Thank you Animal Care Centre. You were iconic in the treatment of a difficult situation. Nothing but accolades and gratitude from us.

I can’t thank the staff enough. They have been there for us since we brought our puppy home in 2012. Whenever we had a question they provided their expertise over the phone or advising us to come in for a visit. We never felt they were pushing unnecessary treatments. We have moved an hour away and still returned as no other vet compared. We have recently had to make another move, this time 3 hours away and they still provided their expertise over the phone. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our sweet pup as she passed away. The staff were so caring, calling to check in on us. We are so thankful that they were there every step of the way. Thank you for being there for our family and Karma.

I had a female dog in labour distress. I called ACC to see if they would be willing to see and help my girl [I was not a current client] and they said they could help. It was a 45 minute drive for me so we did all the intake items over the phone while I drove. Once we got there, she was seen, I was consulted and they helped her right away. The staff were great and we had a good experience. They quoted me high and my bill came in gratefully lower. My girl had 4 healthy puppies via emergency C-section and all did well after their delivery including mom. The follow-up calls were genuine and appreciated. I am a new client for them and I will continue to go here even if it is a drive because of my experience.

Went in for an exam on my anxious pup and had Dr. Coby, she was incredible, very gentle, thoughtful and knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations for future care and I felt very heard with any concerns regarding my pups health. The rest of the staff were also super kind and welcoming! Happy to have finally found a great vet for my pup!!

The MOST AMAZING VET THERE IS. I have been using Animal Care Centre since 2009. I will never go anywhere else. The care and affection and attention they have given/ give my furbabies past and present, has been nothing but exdordinary. They are affordable, worth the drive, and I wouldn't trust anyone else.THANK YOU.

This is an amazing facility - all of the vets we have seen are great. Dr Jodi, Dr Kyle, Dr Coby have all been lovely. It’s a bit of a drive from Calgary and we were considering moving somewhere closer especially because our pup Squirrel doesn’t like the car. But the price, helpfulness, and all of the vets are great and we won’t be going anywhere! Can always get us in for last minute appointments and is an all around well oiled machine.

This vet truly cares for the well being of animals and proved it today. We had a extremely ill cat and where others were more concerned with closing this vet was more concern with the well being of the cat. Thank you and we will be moving the health and well being of our other animal to this care provider. Thanks again.

Needing vet care for beloved pets can be a very stressful, scary, and expensive experience for a family. Dr. Dubreuil’s extraordinary level of compassion, transparency, consideration, and expertise have been immeasurable comfort during these stressful moments. We have complete trust and confidence in his care and the staff’s care and kind accommodation, and our animals are at ease which makes every bit of difference. We are so grateful.

After an extensive search for the right place to handle my dog's TPLO surgery, I stumbled upon Dr. Dave Walker and the Animal Care Center of Strathmore. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in good hands. My dog, Maxx, is naturally anxious, but Dr. Dave's patience and attentiveness immediately put us at ease.

Fast forward 7+ weeks post-surgery, and Maxx is thriving, thanks to the ongoing support and follow-up care provided by the dedicated team at the center. Throughout the process, the costs have been transparent, allowing us to focus on Maxx's recovery without any financial surprises.

Dr. Dave's expertise as both an orthopedic surgeon and a veterinarian shines through in every interaction. His commitment to excellence and compassionate approach make him a true asset to the field. I couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care Maxx received at the Animal Care Center of Strathmore under Dr. Dave's guidance.

We would like to thank all the staff who were amazing, compassionate, and so patient, as we carried out the very difficult decision to put down our little guy, Toby, after almost 17 years. The caring and empathy shown was amazing. It was also nice that his final time was in the arms of his mom, Susan.

Our sweet daisy girl ended up with an access. Was able to get her in within 2 days and she was taken care of very well! I can't remember our vets name but you could tell she really cared about our baby girl!
I will never take my animals to any other vet!!

I have been with Animal Care Centre of Strathmore for many years now and many of my fur babies have been patients. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the facility. Every time I visit it’s an easy and
, as much as possible, enjoyable experience. I have had to make some tough decisions with some of my babies and they have always been compassionate and go above and beyond to help and I have always felt safe and that they genuinely care for both my fur babies and myself! When I moved to Crossfield last year, I absolutely could not fathom the idea of changing vets and even having a dog with medical issues that requires frequent visits, we still make the trek to Strathmore to see them!

I began taking our cat here as the other vet we took her to was, well, apparently not very competent. These folks went right to the heart of the problem and the girl was sharp and happy in no time - and without a breathtaking bill!
Fast forward many years.
Then we had to make the dreaded decision.
Tigerpants couldn't keep going in that kind of misery and discomfort ,her clock had run out and now there was no viable option. One of the hardest things we ever had to do.
The staff here is outstanding in life and death. The care and compassion was totally unexpected.
It's impossible to give them too much credit or praise.

Went today for a knee consultation for my 5yr old chi mix and had an amazing appointment with Dr.Dave he listened to all my concerns and questions and did a thorough exam and gave a clear plan to address her issue. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a surgeon!

Can't say enough positive things about this vet clinic. We are from Calgary and for the 5 years we've had our rescue dog, Misty, she saw a nearby Calgary vet for her annual check-ups. Our experience was fine there, until Misty hurt her hind leg last summer. The Calgary vet referred us to a surgeon that was going to cost A LOT just for a consult/x-ray - didn't even include the cost for surgery!! We decided to call Dr. Jodi at the ACC of Strathmore for a second opinion before spending the money. Dr. Jodi did the initial exam/tests and Dr. Rand took over when it was time for surgery. Both of them were so professional and caring. The quote we received for the full treatment was soooooo much more reasonable than in Calgary. Misty's case was particularly complicated given her unknown history prior to being rescued - she ended up needing a full amputation of her hind leg, which was very unexpected. Dr. Rand did a great job on the surgery (Misty recovered well with no issues) - we are so thankful for the care that he provided our Misty. She is doing great and still lives such a happy life!

In summary, every person that works at this clinic is amazing and we won't take our dog anywhere else. 5 stars for both the pricing and the quality of care that they provide.

Our kids have dealt with this clinic for years. Yesterday was our first time with our beloved pup Tonto. Our experience was amazing. The staff were kind, friendly and compassionate. The exam was very thorough. After the X-rays and blood work everything was explained to us, and we were given several options with absolutely no pressure. We will continue our care with Tonto at this clinic even with the hour drive.

I went there for the first time this week and they were amazing! The prices were fair and way cheaper than living in the city and my vet Dr. Robin was amazing and informative. They even shaved and cleaned parts of my cat as she is obese and has a harder time with reaching there and hates when others touch it without charging or anything. Highly recommend and came from Calgary.
