Lazar Famous Deli & Bakery

We have always seen this bakery but never gone inside. We decided to check it out and we were blown away.

The staff were very friendly. We were greeted upon entering and as we browsed we were offered help. Everything looked so beautiful and mouth watering.

The layout is great as everything has its own space and place. The bread section was absolutely amazing. So many varieties available.

It was almost overwhelming the sheer amount of choices available. You have to first take it all in a swoop then slow down, walk around and decide what you want.

It is so easy to go overboard especially if you've never been before.

The store was clean, busy but the staff kept the lines moving efficiently so as to avoid a bottle neck and disrupt the flow.

You can grab a meal here as well and enjoy Freshly brewed ☕ ☕

The cooked/prepared foods were mouthwatering to look at. 😋

Price wise things were reasonable I would say. A tad higher than another bakery we frequent, that being said with the cost of living the way it is and the prices we see at the grocery stores. It is on par with the times.

The beauty and convenience of having Freshly made breads and pastry is worth it.

We will definitely be back.

Place was packed when we went on a Sunday morning. Their pastries are large and fresh. My favourite is their strawberry cream pastry. Not too sweet and packed with fresh strawberries! Their other pastries look so good I wanna try them all. They also have hot food further back.

One of the best Bakery I have ever seen. Excellent offerings of Cakes, pastries and bakery items.

Great quality and excellent service. Went there to buy birthday cake, chocolate moose. Loved it.

There is a wide range of bakery products you can try. Must try if you want to go all in with your sugar intake. 😋

Cool cozy place with super delicious deli and pastries. I tried blueberry cheesecake and Portuguese tart (which is my all time favorite) and they were amazing. Specially the tart was the closest of what I had in Portugal.

Love the pastries and bread here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The weekends here are packed for the breakfast and treats they offer. Must try.

This bakery brings me back to my good old buddy who’s last name was LAZAR, anyways this bakery has sooo many options, from hot beverages to cold beverages, from hot food, to fresh cut deli meats, from baked goods to custom deserts. I would definitely recommend or just stop by for a nice espresso or cappuccino and a little pastry on the Side.

Lazar made my husband and I the most perfect donut cake for our wedding just this past weekend. Christina went over and beyond in customizing our donuts to match our wedding colours. She was so patient and kind and really exceeded our expectations. Not to mention the donuts are AMAZING!! We get them every time we stop by the bakery. Francesca is amazing and really cares for her customers. 100% would recommend ordering any cakes or sweets from Lazar!!

I found another new favorite bakery. I love croissants, so I tried it. The plain croissant was an unbeatable $1.99. Usually cheap croissants have a bread-like texture and taste, but the croissants here were crispy and very tasty. Two dollars for this is quite a bargain.

They also have butter croissants, chocolate croissants, and cheese croissants for $3.99, $4.99, and $6.99, respectively, so I would like to try those next time. The regular bakery bagels, pastries, and cakes are also delicious.

Since it is located near the secondary school, it seems to be crowded with students during the day and after school (there was a sign on the wall).

This bakery is a hidden treasure. The staff is always extremely helpful, polite, fast and friendly. No matter how busy or calm they are they all make sure any customer is being helped. Their coldcuts are the best coldcuts, always fresh. Don't miss out on this truly special place.

It’s a very nifty little corner store.

They have the BEST buns and croissants. If you go in the early hours, or around noon you can actually get fresh out the oven stuff.

Good collection of ice creams, espresso drinks, patisserie and premade stuff.

Just found this gem of a bakery. We just returned from Lisbon and wondered if we could get a tart similar to the ones we had. By chance, we came upon this wonderful bakery! Man, the tarts, bread are all authentic! This is going to be a weekly spot for us. Love the patio and our little pup loves that he is welcomed.

I need to tell the local community that this Bakery have THE BEST Pastel de Nata I have ever tried! Always fresh, good price and they have two sizes (small and this one on the picture). BE CAREFUL, its impossible to eat just one... LOL.. I also tried for the first time their alfajores with dulce de leche. Look to the picture and have your own opinion... I bought only one, now I have to go back and buy more. This place also have a lot of gourmet products at their grocery including some Brazilian products. They have a sitting area inside and outside (covered) so you can enjoy a coffee of your choice while you try any of their delicious and fresh desserts or pastries. If you live close to this bakery, you must try it. You won't regret at all! Staff very friendly and helpful!

My family has been going to Lazar Bakery for 10+ years. Not only are their baked good to die for but their customer service is wonderful. Any time I bring my kids a staff person insists on giving them something sweet to try. Today I bought a cake but my hands were full with the baby so the staff person walked my cake to the car so I don't drop it. 10/10 recommend for their baked goodies and service.

Love this bakery! It’s the best in this part of the GTA for freshly baked good like breads, cakes and pastries. Check out their Nata’s - All varieties are wonderful. They also have nice coffee and you can get some fresh food from the deli or amazing cheese and meats. During holidays try to in early to avoid crowds.

What a delightful bakery. Very inviting and honestly not what I expected. There is a sit down area that is cozy and warm. So much selection. I chose a simple sugar donut. It was soft and melt in your mouth good. 🥰 It was the late afternoon when I had the donut, it was still very fresh. What a pleasant experience. ❤

My favourite deli / bakery in Mississauga. The produce is fresh, nice assortment of pastry options, and the staff are friendly. Come early morning to get their freshly baked breads! Includes a small cafe where you can order drinks (espresso, latte) to enjoy with your pastries.

I only discovered this lovely bakery after driving past the plaza where this place is located for YEARS… their caseiro loaf is to die for!!!!!!!!!!! I love the crusty outside and fluffy, stretchy inside. 🤤 I’ve gotten caseiro for family members to share the joy (bought 5 loaves in 3 days…!) today I tried their lobster tail which was really nice. Strong orange flavour in the cream and crispy shell, at 3.99 it’s a tad pricy but definitely worth it. I’ve also had their Apple strudel and chocolate croissant and they were also very nice.

Staff I interacted with (bakery in the back and front cash) were all friendly and helpful. :)

Purchased a 6” Black forest birthday cake. Cake was delicious. But prices can be a little better. Like 3-5$ lesser than current. Donuts were also around 2-3$ each. But tastes good. Coffee was also good. Nice place to hangout for a while. Ambiance is good too.

I was extremely impressed with Lazar Bakery, from the first phone call to the moment we got our cake. Every interaction was pleasant and they really took the time to clearly answer any and all questions. The lady that took my order was so thorough and carefully noted all of my design requests, drew diagrams, and labelled them to ensure the decorator could visualize exactly what we wanted. The cake turned out even better than I had imagined. Any imperfections on the cake (including the extra flower on the writing) was due to an unfortunate squish incident in the car. The only recommendation would be to use an adhesive to hold the plate to the box to reduce movement when travelling. It tasted just as good as it looked and I can’t wait to order from them again!

The staff are warm and friendly, adding to the overall comforting vibe. The coffee, cakes, and stewed pork are particularly authentic and immensely satisfying, even for the most discerning Asian palate. The waitress proudly revealed that the stewed pork is prepared in a traditional Portuguese style.
