Pet O Pets - Mississauga

First time going today to get bird food from this location. It is a very clean store with many different types of birds, fish, and many more. All the animals seem in good shape and lots of room to play. As a reviewer of Google map, what I do not understand is why some people complained about the conditions of the birds. I have seen all the birds with my own eyes. Some are very young while others are grown. They all seemed well fed and happy. I believe I have spoken to the owner or an employee today, he was very knowledgeable about my type of bird. He gave many suggestions which I was not aware of before. I definitely recommend this place.

I got my black capped Conure from here. Here's what I loved:
- the birds were clean and healthy
- they were fed HARI approved formula and pallets not regular seeds
- they didn't lie about the age (mostly are babies)
- they clip the birds only if you ask for
- the birds were not from a third party breeder but they have their own aviary

Best experience. Raza helped us picked the conure partner for coco and guide us how to take care. Have been here before for nail and beak trimming for my bird Coco. Will come back again

I bought a beautiful parrotlet from here yesterday and he is perfect! I have been to this store a couple times and have always been helped in finding what I’m looking for.

My parrotlet is being handfed and is eating great. I purchased my bird without seeing him but only because the owner didn’t want to disturb the nest too much, which I can respect. I trusted that he would choose a good bird for me and he brought me a very pretty and healthy green male (like I requested).

I like coming here because they always have a lot of beautiful birds to choose from. I have never been pressured to buy anything like other reviews have mentioned. Overall I’ve had good experiences here. I will be back in the future!

Honestly, if you want someone to teach you the best natural way to set up a thriving habitat for your animal… this is the guy to talk to.
We wanted an axolotl and had searched everywhere and asked so many people for advice and no one seemed to have the sort of knowledge I needed in order to setup the best habitat for one. (For me, best is the most natural simulation of their derivative habitat) I ended up visiting him multiple times and asked so many questions. His love for his animals and knowledge go so far beyond standard pet stores. He spent so much time with us. Answering all of our questions and helped us custom build our tank for our new little addition.
If you want a traditional pet store experience this isn’t it…but if you want the best quality of life for your animal… come in with an open mind and ask for his advice.

What an amazing place!!! Raza spent so much time with me when I bought my Blue Quaker parrot. His knowledge is amazing and he really cares about providing the best service. Thank you so much. We love our new parrot.

Great prices on the birds and other animals and amazing workers who treat you with the utmost respect. Want to raise a bird from young so you can have a strong relationship with it but have no idea how to? No problem they teach you how to so you can be as close to your companion as possible!

Now looking at the other reviews I came acrossed some interesting comments. Some people are saying the owner is abusing his animals when thats not true. I have been coming to this store since I was little when I first got my green cheek conure. The owner and staff has been nothing but kind to me and the animals!

Yes the store is small but what are you going to expect? This is more of a family owned business. This isnt like PetSmart or PetValu. This means the owner has more one on one time with the animals and has more control over his staff.

I have seen PetSmart workers slam cage doors on the birds feet to where there is blood all over the cages and not clean the cage or help the bird. Heck They didnt even notice they hurt ther bird when there was blood clearly all over the cage!
In this store I have never ever seen one shaddy thing about the store or the workers!

The owner gives vary valuable advice and really cares for your pets well being. He helps as much as he can.

To prove a point I added pictures of my birds I got from this place. They are in vary good shape and always will be thanks to the owner. My birds are happy, healthy, beautiful and full of life! Just take a look for yourself.

And about people telling others to go on Kijiji... The people on Kijiji really do abuse their animals and guve them to u knowing they will die. Ive made the horrible mistake on buying one from there. A pinapple conure. I named her Pina... She died 3 days after I bought her... They were feeding her wrong and treated her badly. When I got her and brought her home she was so scared and seemingly traumatized.. I had 2 conures before her. I know I was doing nothing wrong. Kijiji is a BAD place for any animal.

I went to this store last week. Wanted to get pallets for my parrot. I read some reviews here before going in. If you own a parrot and looking for cheaper food, just go to bulk barn. Prices are different in every store same way price of milk in different grocery stores, but I could find easily what I was looking for. Store has smell but it didn't bother me. Some reviews suggested that the store has too many sick birds. THIS IS NOT TRUE! I have owned several parrots and have experienced with them for over 15 years and the birds he has have no issues that I could see.

We got 2 budgies from here. Owner is really nice and provides all the information & guidance you need to select your pet. Good place to buy a bird 🐦 parrot etc. Highly recommended.

Great pet store to buy birds and bird supplies from! We just adopted an African grey baby from pet o pets and their service was great! They taught us everything we need to know and now we are well on our way to have a great parrot!

I have been going to Pet O Pets for a few years now and they are absolutely fantastic. The owner is so knowledgeable with all animals and is amazing with my parrot. He truly shows love to the animals and I highly Recommend if anyone is looking at buying a pet, especially a parrot. He grooms my parrot every month. They are a family run business and I love supporting family businesses instead of the big chain companies. Both their Mississauga and Burlington locations are amazing.

Don’t believe the negative comments, I went in today to pick up a terrarium I ordered online. The owner was kind, light hearted, and an overall very nice person, I don’t know what the people interacting with him are like, but the reviews saying he’s a bad person are hilariously inaccurate. No bad smells like some reviews say, it’s crazy how convinced I was that I was going to have a bad time heading there today; I left with a smile on my face, and my terrarium, exactly when it was supposed to be ready for pick up. I will continue to use this shop for my reptile needs

Very informed staff. We bought our rosy crowned conure there and she is a perfect healthy bird. We didnt know which bird to choose so the owner recommended her as she isnt noisy, she is smart and friendly. We trusted his advice and chose her and she is exactly as he described. They also carry the best bird food around. If you want a healthy bird and great advice go to pet o pets. You can't go wrong. They also offer bird sitting.

The owner was really helpful to help me find the bird food I was looking for. And well stocked with a lot of essential pet items also. Thank you.

Affordable pets and perfect place to buy em, they have birds, more birds, lizards, turtles, parrots, hamster and mice and more.

Animals are life, everyone should be very serious to treat. When you do your homework and know what you are capable of before you consider keeping an animal, the spirit of being an owner towards animals is worth learning from.

We Had a great experience at Pet O Pets in Mississauga today! The shopkeeper was very friendly and welcoming as was her store cat, a very sweet orange and white boy. Good variety of avian livestock. Animals looked well cared for, clean and healthy from what I saw so I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews that say otherwise. Totally recommend especially if you're looking for an avian pet. Lot's of baby/young birds to choose from. Yes the store itself is small but the size of the shop for me had absolutely no bearing on the quality of service or experience. I prefer smaller family owned business's as opposed to somewhere like Petsmart anyway. We purchased a beautiful and very tame 2nd budgie for my daughter and she is loving her new little friend. Shopkeeper asked if we needed any other supplies to care for our new addition, we explained we had everything needed as we already have a budgie at home and that was that. We weren't pressured at all to make any additional purchases. No pressure, fair prices and friendly service was our experience. Will definitely visit again in the future.

Raza was very informative and helpful. He guided us on how to raise our Quaker and shared a lot of insights. The variety of species of birds and fish available in the shop was very nice. They provide membership for grooming services also, specially for birds.

Pet O Pets is by far the best place to go for your birds. They offer great costumer service and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I visit Pet O Pets every other month and leave fully satisfied every single time. I would recommend this store to absolutely everybody.
