We always followed Hilal committe of Toronto over the years even when we moved to Durham region as we know they follow the Sunnah of Rasoolullah SAW and not Saudi Arabia or scientific methods . Most masaajid in GTA followed this committee until recently 2-3 years back when they all broke away and started Hilal Council of North America which follows global Moon sighting and deviated from established Sunnah of Nabi Karim SAW.

For those advocating scientific methods of moonsighting, I wanna remind them that they can open google earth on their computer and choose “moon” and they can see the moon in real-time whenever they want for “convenience”. It’s entirely your choice but not as per sunnah.

They are on the correct path and follow the hadith of prophet Mohammed pbuh
They don't follow Saudi Arabia or egypt for their comfort
As per prophet Mohammed pbuh open your fasting after sighting the moon and break your fasting after sighting the moon.
