Mike The Bike

This summer I had the great fortune of having Mike the Bike’s shop recommended to me by a good friend so I went to check it out. I had 2 old beater bikes that I hadn’t been using nor taking care of so I wanted a professional opinion on what they were worth. As it turned out not much! I was very happy when Mike offered me a $60- credit towards parts and that purposing was his specialty! Mike has a great little shop near Kensington Mkt off a lane way on the south west corner of Dundas & Spadina. Super friendly and helpful, very knowledgeable and is able to fix things on the spot!

Mike set me up with a great road bike rental during my holiday to Toronto… at a great price too!!

He even took the time to swap the front wheel to a quick release for me so I could fit it in my car. He also was very knowledgeable about paths and bike routes in the area.

Would highly recommend for any rentals in the city!

Super friendly, quick and reasonably priced. You can tell Mike cares for his work as I took my bike for a Flat repair on the rear and when handing back the bike, both the tyre pressure were checked. This is my go to place now.

Mike was awesome! A friend recommended him and I could not be happier with his kind and quick service. I needed a tune up and was so lucky that Mike had the time and could turn it around fast. His pricing is great and he's a super nice guy!

I'm so glad I chose Mike The Bike over other rental options in Toronto. Mike helped me choose a bike and made sure it was comfortable before I departed. While it might not have been the most beautiful ride, it more than made up for its modest appearance in quality, practicality, and affordability. I'll definitely return on my next visit!

Mike is great! Have brought two of my bicycles to him and they were both done quickly, with good communication on price and pick up times, and with friendly service. Really affordable and would always bring my bike's for repair here!

We rented two bikes from Mike. Rode from Toronto to Niagara Falls and back. Both bikes were tuned up and worked flawlessly. Brakes and gears worked great. Mike knows customer service. He treated us like royalty. I highly recommend this place for bicycle rentals in Toronto.

I discovered this place via the internet when I was looking for a bike rental during a business trip.
Compared to the much larger Bike Share Toronto Mike's offer was much more attractive to me because the other provider requires you to make a stop every half an hour at one of its stations otherwise you will be charged some extra fees. Mikes tariff is straightforeward: I paid 22.50 CAD for 24 hours and was able to choose from a range of refurbished bikes.
I had a single speed bike with new wheels and handbrakes which worked perfectly and allowed me to explore parts of the city that I wouldn't have seen by foot.
Mike was not talkative but always friendly.

I have been riding a road bike assembled by Mike for the past 6 months. The bike works like a charm. Whenever there are any issues, Mike is available to fix it within a day or two. Mike is super friendly and considerate. He reduced the price for fixing a flat cause I had a couple of them within a span of 2 weeks, when there was no reason at all to do so. Highly knowledgeable and professional, and great to talk to!

Honestly, Mike is great.

I had my first interaction with him last night. On the phone, he can come off a bit rude but he's a busy guy so I can understand why! I am the same with my job as Mike's time is valuable.

I came in for some brake cables and ended up leaving my vintage wheels with him to fix after someone else told me they were goners. We had a conversation about the job and he was honest about what it will cost and how he can save me some money.

At first glace, the shop looks messy from outside but don't let that turn you away. It is obvious that Mike works hard and keeping up with appearances is the least of his worries.

Honest, knowledgeable, experienced, and fair if I had to describe my experience with Mike. My go to place to fix my bikes from now on, and I will be recommending it to anyone that bikes.

I'll update as I use Mike's services more, but this is my first impressions so far.

Mike really knows his stuff and he’s open to teaching people how to get the most out of their bikes. Local business. Good man. Good prices. I will definitely be back

this place is amazing if u want your bike to be built up by scratch. take it to mike the bike his prices are awesome for building up a wheel, its like 55$ and he teaches u how to fix it. while other bike stores charge up to 200$ just to build for one wheel, also u have to be patient with him and be respectful he works really hard in his skills and he has the best personality, and if u need any little parts for your bike he has it five stars all the way.

Great service for a great price. It’s quick and Mike is super nice. I just needed my inner tube changed, sent an email and he told me to just drop in. He changed it for me, and pumped my tires, which I appreciated. I would absolutely go back for all my bike needs. Highly recommend!

Mike was great- my partners chain broke about an hour before Mike the Bike closed. We called him and he agreed to stay until we got there to fix the chain. We showed up covered in grease from trying to repair it ourselves- not only did Mike fix the chain promptly, he cleaned up the bike and encouraged us to go into the shop and tidy ourselves up. The price was reasonable, and he even let us know about the status of the parts on the bike/some concerns he had since we'd said we'd just purchased it. He wasn't pushing a sale, was genuinely looking out for our safety & quality in the future. Will recommend him over any overpriced shop in the city!! Thanks Mike :)

I found out about this place from my son who uses his bike in downtown Toronto for his main mode transportation. It doesn’t look like much from the outside or inside for that matter but as the saying goes “ looks can be deceiving” and in this case they are very deceiving because Mike the Bike does a way better job than any of the fancier bike stores I used to go to. Mike goes above and beyond to help you and is reasonably priced. He often has used parts that help me out of a bind and I don’t feel like I’m paying a fortune every time I go to a bike store. He also doesn’t mind installing new parts I might have bought somewhere else. Mike is just a really decent, honest guy. Life‘s too short not to want to do business with nice people.

Mike is The Man, most experienced individual in the world of bikes I ever met, this guy knows everything and is also one of the hardest working yet modest person.

Mike is such a great guy and professional!! I've just met him today after reading various good comments on google and now I understand why. I went to the store for getting a new seatpost and he had one with the perfect size, he set it up for me and the price was really affordable. You can find second hand and used tools for your bike here for a cheaper price.

I recommend it 100%!!
